I have never been to place where the manager and staff were so friendly
The kitchen and serving staff were excellent - cheerful and quick and the food was good.
On our initial arrival at the reception desk, the person in charge could not find the paperwork associated with our stay and this did not create a very hopeful start to our visit.
Ease of areas to walk round.
The bed was very hard and dipped down from middle to edge.
kind and helpful staff
The room(27) was a nice big one, lovely and warm with great views over the prom and sea. We liked the fact that the other guests were all mature. No late night drunken rowdiness! Staff all very friendly and helpful.
On arrival we went for a bar meal at 7:15 to be told the restaurant diners were all served and the chef was getting ready to go home!!! On the information it stated bar meals were available until 7:30. They managed to scrape up a couple of cottage pies, which we had to send back as they were cold. When heated pies came back we were not able to eat them, they contained lumps of something we could not identify nor could the waitress and the chef had gone home! Our money was refunded though.
The staff here are very attentive, always great service when we've stayed here. Ross is a great host and always brings a smile to our faces. It's our 2nd stay here and we'll be back again.
Excellent hotel staff very friendly good breakfast and clean bedrooms and the manager is just perfect for the job
We were very pleased with the hotel and staff, the breakfast and service was first class. We would definitely stay again.
The staff were very friendly , particularly the Scottish chap working on reception when I arrived .
Although I was never boxed in , the parking was a bit of a bun fight .
What's not to like? The County is full of Art Deco charm and even the carpet was specially woven to the same design as that of the 1930's original. We've stayed at many, many small hotels over the years and this is one of the best, Been here twice in 2014 and loved both (different) rooms and the quirky, retro lift, Free parking is a useful addition and free entertainment most evenings was a big plus, Comfort, cleanliness and staff all score highly too.
The only single lavatory on the ground floor is a unisex disabled one. At times this can get busy and since the seat & cover have to be held up by hand, room for a separate male urinal should be found
The staff including the manager were most polite and helpful at all times. There was a good selection of items for breakfast which was included in the price and the cooked option was very enjoyable
The bed was very lumpy and well past its best as when I lay down I kept rolling toward the edge of the bed therefore not having a good sleep
Great stay sea front rooms excellent service & breakfast as allways will definitely be there again soon
Nothing to put
Made to feel very welcome. Room with sea view. Nice breakfast and would definitely not consider another hotel in Skegness for future trips.
Our stay was only a very short break but we were treated by all staff as valued guests, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was spotless and our accommodation roomy and a view on to the Skegness front gardens.
The no fuss attitude. Staff were friendly and helpful.
There was nothing not to like.
We were upgraded to a sea view room at no extra cost which was nice. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful especially Ross the manager. breakfast was good and there was plenty of choice.
Nothing to dislike.
Manager & staff Comfortable facilities Breakfast Location Parking Wifi
Peeling wallpaper in bedroom Crack in handbasin
My booking was cash on arrival but when I arrived the manager had already taken payment on my card ( not too happy about that )
castle pub over the road cheap beer
Took money from the credit card I gave you before we checked in, when you told me they would not, put my bank into overdraft because I was not going to use that particular card not at all happy. J Holmes
Toilet would not flush correctly, had to flush with water using the rooms metal waste bin. One of the two double glazed windows in the room blown, only view we had was of a brick wall and stench pipe
