Lypiatt House is a 5-star Guest Accommodation in the most fashionable area of Cheltenham. Expect Victorian style suitably mixed with modern decor. The breakfast is popular!
Score from 243 reviews Fabulous
ideal location perfect for hideaway. staff always willing to do all they can to make you welcome.
lack of choice for an evening meal especially in a relatively expensive hotel but when future plans are put in place it will be perfect.
I loved the welcome and the building is amazing. Staff very friendly
Wifi poor. Check out procedure needs improving. Menu could improve.
The property is stunning and staff very friendly and helpful
Stayed 14 Feb.The check in was long and laborious having to produce ID, having to give all my Card details again, ordering breakfast (which in fact was a poor selection for continental). We had the Romeo and Juliet room in the roof but it was oppressively hot and we had window open all night in Feb! At the price it needs to be less like a family run guest house and more like a hotel. The room description said en suite, forgot to mention it was across a public landing! Overall it was nice but disappointing
Friendly staff, good location, modern rooms/fittings.
Fridge not working and wasn't fixed for us. Atension to detail in the rooms was lacking, cleanliness could of been improved, lots of cobwebs. No extractor fan in bathroom, smelt damp.
Wifi. Bath plug didnt work in romeo and juliet bathroom.
Rooms are beautifully decorated and staff very attentive. Grounds are beautiful and the surrounding area enchanting.
Very welcoming owner and very polite staff. Really enjoyed our stay and the hotel was beautiful. Food was excellent and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.
Nothing - what isn't to like, it was amazing
The food was lovely and Peter most welcoming.
The receptionist greeting us outside at 3.30pm to say we couldn't check in or even have a coffee & that we must come back after 4pm, seemed very unfriendly, after a long journey.
Lovely grounds, the decor of the house was very relaxing. The breakfast menu and the service was first class with lots of choice. Would like to return when the garden is in full bloom and you have your drinks licence.
Noise from the kitchen early in morning, chasing for payment for evening meals well before departure !
Rooms too cramped, bad quality construction, feels like its falling apart
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, we were left in peace to enjoy the hotel but staff were always available to help if we had any questions. Both the hotel and local scenery are incredibly beautiful and we had the peaceful break from London we were craving. We would also recommend eating at the Falcon which is 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Again the service was exceptional (I didnt even know you could get service this good in the UK). We would recommend booking a table in advance as even in the first week in Feb they struggled to squeeze us in.
I wouldnt change anything, we couldnt have asked for a better weekend
Easy come, easy go Excellent Supper Comfortable bed Sky TV Great Staff
Wifi was a bit slow
Warm room on a bitterly cold day, staff very friendly and helpful
The staff were so pleasant and helpful. The newly opened restaurant for evening meals was delightful, as was the understandably limited menu which I'm sure will expand once the restaurant gets established. My only minor critisism was the food presentation, not everyone wants to eat off of a cheese board!!
Romeo & Juliet Room (Attic space room) was a little cold through the night and early morning. Check out time of 10.30am a little to early on a Sunday (every thing a bit to rushed).
Very warm and welcoming beautifully and tactfully decorated
Maybe some toast and marmalade at breakfast
Friendly welcoming feeling, like a guest in a country house.
Nothing, However, one tip could be to relax the rigid lines between continental and cooked breakfast e.g. fruit juice with cooked breakfast,
Love the homely feel and the welcome :-)
Bed was not very comfy and to small:-(
Location was lovely and a great setting. Nice choice of rooms to pick from. Lovely breakfast.
Don't get to see much of place itself as a lot is off bounds to go into. Check in is to late.
Enjoyed the whole experience; historic manor house draped in history and furnished in a luxurious modern manner. The atmosphere was relaxing and was like home from home. The house was kept warm which added to its cosiness. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. A fantastic night away!
Stunning Manor House and Gardens. Decor etc was first class.
I did not like the fact that bedrooms had to be accessed through owners kitchen. Cleopatra was very cramped. No room to move. Breakfast beggared belief, we have never been refused poached or scrambled eggs and told we can only have fried eggs. A lot lacking at breakfast time. Would not come back and could not recommend to family or friends. Eddie & Barbara BARRY [Kidderminster Worcs]
The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was beautiful. It was slightly difficult using the shower head in the bath as the roof was quite low. Breakfast was really good very filling.
Great location and rooms look beautul. Lovely town and local pubs to eat. Lovely welcome and friendly staff Great atmosphere - lovely features
Could improve Wifi for cleopatra room - didn't work Beans for breakfast - as breakfast was dry Al
The Barn - perfect space, great for a family or group of friends, fantastically decorated. Has all utilities required. Grounds are beautiful. Private reserved space for us at breakfast.
Lack of choice for veggie cooked breakfast.
Breakfast Room decor Location
No reception Entrance through side door No room service No mini fridge in room Early check out late check in No bar No iron in room even though there was an ironing board
Not a lot!
The breakfast - very little choice and poor quality. The room- stuffy, zero soundproofing, tacky quality of fittings. The price - hugely overpriced. The lack of care from the owners - we complained to the staff at the time of our stay but have heard nothing back from the owners. We've travelled the world but haven't had such a disappointing experience before.
