Church Bells Lack of Organic food or at leas some for breakfast...
Room (King Arthur) was perfect. Very large bed that was so comfortable. The staff were first class for service. I liked how quiet and discreet the manor is.
Sat Nav directed us to rear of Manor Court but not able to use that entrance. Finally managed to get to the front entrance (tiny roads). It's a shame you can't use all the facilities unless you book the private hire of the Manor. But then I suppose it would be classed as a hotel without food services. Breakfast had lots on offer to guests. But I've had better full english in other B&B's. Also, for the price of it I expected better quality yogurts, butter, sugar and coffee sachets. These little things do make a difference!
Beautiful location, with a very pretty garden.Plenty of secure parking.Great to be able to walk to a number of restaurants. The Tempest Room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. Agata, who showed us to our room and served breakfast, was delightful.
Quite tricky to find.Slightly off-putting to be asked to sign a kind of inventory of items in the room. A notice in the wardrobe to make us aware that there were 10 wooden coat hangers and a list of the costs of replacing items in the back of the handbook. The shower did not drain away and we had to be pretty careful ( and speedy) to make sure that it didn't over- flow. However, what will probably be our lasting memory was breakfast on the first morning, when I asked for a boiled egg. Yup,just one.I don't like fried breakfasts. This was declined and I actually thought it was a joke. So did my husband and so he asked for a scrambled egg. When this was declined too, we realised. Seriously, how can you refuse such an easy, modest request. We've stayed in places all over the world and this is a first ever.Come on, Court House management, get real. We weren't asking for caviar or souffles! Fortunately we both have a good sense of humour.
good location, and a great buiding fantastic rooms brilliant staff
Decadent King Arthur room Shower Fluffy towels Staff Friendly owners
Prices in case you stained a towel even though I can understand that policy.
Good breakfasts. Great location.
We were not told that the sink and toilet would be so noisey due to the upgrades to the old building. Every time the people above us flushed the toilet during the night we woke up. We understand that plumbing can be an issue but a discussion would have been good. When we checked in we needed to sign a document that outlined the cost of many articles and the cost of replacement.. The chair in our room was broken when we arrived and we were nervous that we would be charged. It was difficult to really relax because of a fear that we would soil or break something. It was nice to receive a glass of wine immediately on arrival but holding a glass of wine and carrying luggage up the stairs was almost humorous. Perhaps delivering it to the room would make more sense. I felt that the reception was rushed.
bedroom was ace
breakfast could have been better
The house was in a very nice setting.
Being asked for forms of ID when we had already done that at the time of booking/paying. They needed credit card details in case of accidental breakages (in fact, we found several items/fittings broken) There were so many silly rules that made you feel uncomfortable and distrusted as a paying guest. We had to sign a document to undertake responsiblity (financialy) if any damage was caused. The advert for the manor stated that it had a bar and a billiard room (with pictures on their website), but in fact these facilities did not exist. A visitor from the US asked and then I asked the same question and was told that they did not have these facilities. However, the info found in the bedroom also suggested that these facilities were available. The fixtures and fittings were a little 'tired' and some may have been damaged. The carpet in the bedroom appeared to be stained.
Nicely appointed Manor if guests were allowed to avail of the facilities.
We arrived at 1 00 pm and could not gain admission until 4 00 and had to walk around the village for two hours. Did not even have a facility to sit down. I found it intimidating having to sign a guarantee that we would not remove their hairdryer clothes hangers etc. Staying in hotels all my life and never experienced this before. The bathroom was unsatisfactory as it was tiny. The breakfast items were counted as we were told in advance how many sausages we would get and we were never told we could help ourselves to corn flakes or orange juice. Overall it was bad value for what you received. The information on the Web is misleading as it seems to advertise many features which were not available for guests to use.. would not recommend. An amazing quirky property with themed rooms. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. When we weren't happy with the room we had booked and the owners offered us a move without hesitation. A very relaxed and laid back atmosphere.
Breakfast in the kitchen! we felt like we had just been slotted in to a corner and the staff had to push past us to serve other guests. It seemed very strange to be sitting in the kitchen where they were cooking our breakfast. Even though it was a beautiful kitchen! Also you had to walk through the kitchen to access the rooms.
a wonderful welcome from agatha - beautiful property and garden + secure parking
was a little bit hard to find on the sat nav
Wonderful historic building, great setting, beautiful gardens. Very comfortable bed
Our bathroom was little more than. a cupboard. The wifi was woeful. Breakfast was the biggest disappointment. Despite more than adequate facilities. the only choice was in cereal, the cooked breakfast was only one simple dish, poorly cooked and identical every day
Friendly staff. Great location
Cheaply renovated interior. No air con or fans. Blocked shower. Hugely over priced.
The room was nice, bathroom nice, it was clean and tidy and staff friendly
No bath in bathroom, telly signal was rubbish, very limited tea and coffee selection and very limited breakfast and hours of breakfast time, very little to do
Really excellent place! Good breakfast, friendly staff, I will choose it again next time.
comfortable rooms ,good food ,very obliging staff& well situated with good parking
Spelling in the information, especially ",cereal's"! "Cheese's"!.Need to get someone to proof read their copy! Only a small point from a pedant!
Lovely property in the centre of this beautiful Cotswold town. Delightful welcome and cosy room (Romeo and Juliet) in the eaves (lovely private bathroom across the landing). Attractive gardens and a short walk to The Falcon for supper
Despite an attractive breakfast room and helpful staff the breakfast fell short of expectations; large TV showing some sort of awful reality programme with lots of blood and gore (the staff changed to a news channel when requested), stewed tea (from communal pot), hot breakfast, piled high with cold toast, on cold plate, placed on table as we were half way through our cereal. Eventually we plucked up courage to ask for a pot of tea andvsome wise folk asked for fresh toast. Nothing that can't be resolved to make this an exceptional bed and breakfast.
The grounds of the manor must be walked and savored to be believed. Our room was cozy and comfortable, with a nice view of the grounds. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful, even permitting us to check in early so we could drop our things and scamper to a wedding nearby. We would be happy to stay here again.
fabulous location, grounds and decor. Lovely breakfast, amazing building and very accommodating staff.
the website hadn't made it clear that our bathroom would not be ensuite. Check out time at 10am was a bit early.it would have been nice if the b&b guests could have access to the hot tub.
Poor staff except for kitchen; Contract to be signed upon arrival or else.....
EVERYTHING!! Especially the ambiance the décor was amazing very tasteful. the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness. Very homely. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely gardens to walk in after a delicious cooked breakfast The age and history of the Manor
Setting, Accommodation Staff, (Sam!) House and grounds
Bar, Snooker room, Hot Tub not available! Owner not around for the guests
