The size of the room, the peaceful location with views over the countryside, the Indian meal in the evening was outstanding and breakfast was excellent. Nothing really other than the floor in the room (113) sagged in places which initially was a little disconcerting.

The hotel was situated in beautiful grounds and the hotel was impressive on arrival. My husband and I stayed in the Japanese room which had a lovely bathroom with double jacuzzi Although the hotel was beautiful and impressive, the rooms needed a lick of paint and a bit of tlc.....the bedsheets although clean weren't as pristine as they could have been.

I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel was better than expected, with lots of period features showing its two hundred year history. The staff were welcoming and the attached Indian restaurant was excellent. I would definitely stay again if I ever need to return to this part of Wales.

Location is good away from city. Staff is very friendly. I didn't get a quiet room as requested . Got scalded under the shower when cold water pressure dropped.

Lovely and warm after sitting through very cold church wedding service! Very comfortable relaxed feel about the place. Lovely staff - thanks. Parked in the mud, pouring with rain (discovered plenty of tarmac parking round the back the next morning!) Didn't stay long enough to make the most of the place.

It looks out over countryside and is in a quiet location. Period architecture / manor house Breakfast was very poor. The evening meal (roast lamb) was served with a salad and did not have vegetables. The food seemed to have been micro- waved and did not come up to the standard expected from a 3 star Welsh country house hotel.

We choose this hotel as it was close to family. The room was large enough for a family of four and comfortably furnished. We were very impressed with the Indian Restaurant which served food of a very high quality. The service was also good even though there was a large party eating at the same time as us.

Good value, good breakfast. Shabby bedrooms, staff knocking on the door minutes after you've arrived in your bedroom to complain about the noise.

The size of the bedroom and bathroom were huge and well appointed, great value for money. The Indian restaurant attached I found a little disappointing and below expectations. Slight drain smell from the bathroom, ought to have dedicated bar staff rather than the lady in reception popping round.

Nice old building with very friendly staff and excellent 'antique' decor. The room was nice with an excellent bathroom, and the restaurant was quite superb. I find nothing to criticise.

We stayed in a themed room for a romantic night away and were not disappointed. The food in the restaurant was exceptional and the night staff were more than willing to help with a late night bottle of chilled wine. A very enjoyable stay which I will continue to recommend to my friends. I booked the Viennese themed room but got the Indian one, still a lovely room but then not the one I'd led my partner to expect.
