Good coffee at breakfast
i couldnt really find fault, or if i did it would just be nit picking
owners lengthy insistence on making public an issue of arrival time (9.15pm)
Location, facility, breakfast---all the above
The Husband and Wife were very friendly, also help full. Great Couple, would recommend to anyone
Welcoming and good breakfast
We liked everything! And can recommend other travellers who like England as we do.

The location Host very friendly and accommodating
Guesthouse rather dated - needs a good lick of paint and modernising A radio on quietly during breakfast would help with the intimate quiet atmosphere Room was rather cluttered and busy
Owners went out of their way to be helpful, gave good information, were most accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable and dining room was particularly bright and fresh. Breakfasts were cooked to order and the food was of a good standard and plenty of variety.
Location on main road but parking spaces made available by proprietors and not too noisy. No bath in my particular room. Toast not particularly warm or nice but I'm sure if I had complained something would have been done about it.
Very friendy and helpful people, good breakfast, great location
location (close to town centre)
quality of breakfast noisiness (near a pub) it could do with a paint job!
Easy walk to our business location. Breakfast included. Host very knowledgeable about area.
Breakfast quality not great. Room only superficially clean. Bathroom bin half-full on arrival & never emptied. Very busy, noisy street if window open for airflow. Sound transfer between rooms was high :/.
I was very surprised with the convenience of the Courtland to all of the sights in Shakespeare's town. It was so easy to walk around town from the Courtland. It is directly behind the main streets...2 minutes from Shakespeare's house and 5 minutes from the river and theatre. The room was fair in terms of comfort. Nicely appointed bath. Really good breakfast, cooked to order. John was very knowledgeable and offered good suggestions for our short visit.
The Courtland is located in a rather major thoroughfare so the traffic noise is fairly constant even in the late hours of the night. Since the temps were high we had to leave our window open...no AC....and the sounds of the cars zooming by was loud. Lots of stairs to climb with heavy luggage was a drawback.
The host was very friendly and he gave us a very good overview on food outlets and the places of attraction when we arrived.
Everything was very clean, and the showers had great water pressure! They also served a delicious made-to-order breakfast! :)
Given the price paid, I was expecting slightly more room to move around...we only had about a foot and a half of space around the bed besides the bathroom. It was very hostel-like.
breakfast options, offered information for if touring the city, friendly people,
Close location to the town centre
We had arranged our day around the advertised check-in time. However, the day before our stay the B&B contacted us to say we could not check in from 12.30 onwards and needed to arrive earlier, with no apology. We had to completely rearrange our day, and when I explained this was not ideal, the B&B owner stated that 'this is why we do not like to have people only stay for one night' and that they 'do not like waiting around all day for people to collect the keys'. The B&B does not state anything about not being able to stay for only one night, and they gladly accepted our booking under this pretense. They did however, give us early access to the room in order to get changed, as this was required due to the change in check-in time. The room was a very small double, which was acceptable as we were not planning on spending much time in the room, but the bathroom shower cubicle was not clean and was very flimsy, and did not fit with the standard indicated by other reviewers. All in all, an OK stay that was ruined by the service we receive before and on check-in, so I will not be recommending this B&B.
The property is within easy walking distance of the RSC Theatres. Breakfast was very good.
There is a 20% SURCHARGE if you pay by credit card, which I do not remember being advertised. There is no surcharge if you pay by debit card or cash, but I had wanted to use the same credit card I booked with.
Dusty smelly feaces on toilet brush and toilet" . Dirty coffee cups hair in breakfast yuk ruined my day
Staff was friendly, Breakfast was good
Room was not very clean, neither was the bathroom. Our room was extremly small, below the roof. no air conditioning, which was why it was much too hot in the warm weather.
very near to the center good breakfast, friendly and helpful owners
would have liked a small table in the bedroom
Traffic noise in room 5
Absolutely spotless, lovely furnishings and comfortable bedroom with all one could need. A generous delicious breakfast choice and warm welcome. The owners are very helpful and make you feel as if you're a very special guest.
