Holiday Inn Ipswich Orwell  

We stayed to attend a family funeral and the reception staff could not have been more helpful.They very kindly allowed us to leave our bags in the room until after the funeral so we could change our clothes in readiness for a 6 hour trip back to the west country.

i booked this hotel as it was a bargain. but to be honest when we got there we could not belive how we got hotel so cheap! the staff were so nice, the location was easy to find, great parking, massive bed, quiet all night long and we really did have a great stay will use again

Whilst staying at the venue there was a wedding party, there was no separate facilities for the wedding guests and the hotel guest, so to use the bar facilities was a nightmere as what I could see there was only one member of staff serving. The male public toilets had sick in the urinals. The out door seating arrangement needs to be look at as outside our bedroom window was a beach were the wedding guests were sat singing drinking and smoking until 2am. The hall way entrance door to the rooms was opened and slammed which caused the doors to bang continuousley though out the night this was a complaint which I made the next morning and the staff said that they were aware of the of this, if this is the cause why has this not been rectefied. So are stay at the hoilday inn in Orwell was an unhappy experience.

Convenient, pleasant and freindly at reasonable cost. Good breakfast.

Friendly Staff, good size room

Uncomfortable bed. Dirty shower head. Water stopped working after running a bath. Unable to shower or re run bath. This is not good for two people who have been busy all day and need to freshen up. The food was nice enough, but very expensive for two people to dine on burgers and 1 drink each.

At £36.00 a night it was a steal. It would still be good vfm at £50.00 pn, any more and it would lose its competetive edge.

Only one bedside table.

Clean and spacious room, tv channels limited but not a problem if you not alone. Avoided breakfast due to extortionate price at £13.95 each! Otherwise a pleasant relaxing stay.

This room was booked during a previous stay in September, due to the passing away of my mother 2 days before this stay I had to cancel a "non refundable" booking. The hotel were very understanding of my situation and refunded the cost of my stay which I am very greatful for.......many thanks to the manager at Holiday Inn, Orwell the kind gesture was much appreciated. I will not hesitate to book here again when attending company office meetings in the future.

We did not like waking up the next morning and find a bill pushed under the door, the bill they wanted to charge us for was using the phone three times to the value of £32 when we checked out we pointed this out to the person on the desk they said dont worry and cleared the bill, my point is how many guiest dont look at the bill and pay the bill for phone calls that they have not made. this is the first time it has happend to us , i would not like it to happen to other people. we will be using you again to make a booking

On the whole my stay was good. Room was comfy and staff polite.

I didn't have the breakfast as £13.95 is ridiculously expensive.

Convenient for a meeting we had

No heating on in room and asked twice for it to be turned on or to be given a separate freestanding heater - the receptionist said he would get the heating turned on but it didn't happen. Also quality of food in restaurant was very poor.

Nice staff food was quite good. I think it the reception area could do with a spuceup as its looking dated.
