The king size bed!
Location was very rural and could easily be missed in the dark.On arrival no greeting was kept waiting for 10 minutes without being acknowledged whilst she was talking to another customer. Asked for shower cap said didn't have any. Been to many other Holiday Inn each time had Lux shower gels n hand washes in bathroom. This time my wife didn't take no shampoo as we were expecting same but had a very poor quality tiny complimentary bottle! One less pillow provided but we were too tired to complain at night. In the morning housekeeping staff were talking very loud not thinking people could be sleeping. Will never go there again!
Staff was friendly from reception throughout.. There was a trainee at reception but the staff member training her did a very good job training whilst giving good customer service. Very quiet area so when I got in from a night out was relaxing.
Reception staff were polite and helpful. Room was lovely, clean and comfortable.
Bathroom was a bit dated
The staff were all excellent. we had a great time at this hotel :)
Room size. Fairly quiet location.
Wifi isn't great and has to be paid for. Bathroom was 1970's decor and looked tired.
Our daughter was taking part in a duathlon on Sunday morning, and we requested an early continental breakfast at 05.30 for her, and 06.30 for us. This was provided, whereas at other hotels it would not have been possible.
Very pleasant location Staff extremely helpful and accommodating; nothing was too much trouble Wedding well organised Good standard of cleanliness Room comfortable and spacious Food generally quite good - but fish and chips excellent!
Beautiful building with nice spacious room and very clean bathroom.
Could do with better mattresses and needs mattress toppers.
Good breakfast - welcoming reception staff- very pleasant stay
Unable to have a lie -in as woken up by slight noise from housekeeping staff when assembling their trollies with sheets etc at 8 a m ( on a Saturday)
Ease to whuch we were able to find hotel and also to travel from hotel to local theatre and other leisure locations.
The outdated state of the bathroom in particular. Limited choice on bar menu.
This is the second time we have stayed here, we have friends nearby who don't always have space to put us up. The staff are exceptionally pleasant and so far have never asked for anything they have not been willing to help with. The menu for breakfast lists scrambled egg which is put out on the breakfast buffet, but every time I have had poached eggs cooked for me, and this time was no exception. Every member of staff is friendly and polite and have never met anyone who has been in the slightest any different to this. I would recommend this particular one over any in the area every time, and look forward to my next visit.
It is quite hard to co ordinate getting your toast made and buttered at the buffet to coincide with the eggs coming out of the kitchen, then its a bit of a rush to toast and butter to get the rest on the plate before it starts going cold!
Staff friendliness and helpfulness Breakfast was good. Attended a wedding which was very nice and a nice atmosphere with lovely buffet.
Accommodation a bit basic - were in a suite which was basically two very square rooms. Not much ambience. Bedroom area was small.
Everything. This is a great hotel for all occassions
Nothing to say
Found the hotel very clean with friendly staff and the bed very comfortable.
The hotel is remotely located next to a main busy road and with very few facilities.
No one on reception and a good few minutes before anyone came, left a message to say " not too many stairs " room upstairs with no lift. They could have contacted me. Lots of traffic noise. No mirror to sit at in room.
Room was clean and well kept
Reception left unattended you have to wait until they come to you, we also had an incident were another guest entered our room very late at night as that was the room key he was given when he checked in. We also received a call from the kitchen regarding our room service order but we didn't order room service. These disturbances don't help for a comfortable night, staff are not very efficient!
Nothing in particular.
Paying £40 per night over normal rate of £155 (because of British Grand Prix 20 miles away) and having no dining or bar facilities one night because of a wedding - plus disco thumping until midnight. Next night waited 45 mins for dinner main course because an oven had broken - and the restaurant was not busy. No surprise. Totally sub-standard. Complete rip off.
Quite convenient for Silverstone. Room well serviced eah day.
Entirely non-smoking. Be very careful to check they don't have a wedding party booked during your stay - the loud music will drive you nuts. Rates for British Grand Prix weekend very high - no Holiday Inn is worth £210 a night...
Room was lovely! Location easy to reach. Breakfast was hot & plentiful. You get loyalty points.
Bar meal in the evening was distinctly average (Fish & Chips). I had to argue against the unexplained increase in room rates (yes, they refunded). Crazy £50 cancellation fee if you check out early - despite me giving 36 hours notice of early checkout. The excuse offered was that "we have to get the room cleaned.." Does that mean it wouldn't have been cleaned if I'd stayed? Or that the poor soul following me into the room afterwards would have found it not cleaned? And yes, they refunded that too..
Quiet location but convenient to motorway junction.
Food and beverages a little pricey.
Welcoming reception,comfortable nights sleep.
Lovely interior and breakfast was very good.
Bed was hard and so were the pillows.
There for my sisters wedding all the staff from serving breakfast to working the bar at night were fantastic.
Friendly staff. Very convenient location close to M1. Breakfast was good. Parking felt secure. There was a wedding during my stay but I was given a quiet room so I would not be affected by it (room 20) and it was great - nice and quiet and looking out on open fields. I would stay here again.
Room service meal was poor: the new potatoes were not freshly cooked - they had been microwaved too much and had mostly gone like rubber, and the steak was a little tough and sinewy - however I was offered a £5 discount because of that, which was appreciated. Room had a slightly odd smell about it. Room was too cold as heating not switched on. Pillows were too hard.
