Just 2.5 miles from highway M1, the Holiday Inn Northampton West is on attractive grounds in the village of Flore. The hotel offers a modern fitness center, a restaurant, bar and free parking on site. The Holiday Inn Northampton has spacious rooms with satellite TV and pay movies. Each room also has a private bathroom with a shower and hairdryer. The hotel’s Conservatory Restaurant offers traditional meals and a full English breakfast. When accompanied by an adult, children eat for free. The bar has a large TV and offers a snack menu. It's convenience to the adding venue we were going to The trainee bartender who didn't know that a large or double means two shots and the right measure size for Baileys. Also the duvet cover seemed to be inside out and the opening to the cover was to the side and didn't do up, so while trying to sleep you'd end up up tangled in the duvet cover.

The location near the motorway was great and ease to check in. The breakfast was over priced and they were short staffed in my opinion, they ran out of everything and I had to keep asking for basic, like bread, milk orange juice, butter. The full english was also cold and not very much of it for the money, I have a full english for half the price most Sundays. Was also booked into a smoking room which I did not request and the smell of stale smoke was offensive. However after a quick call the recepetion managed to change our room, which was then excellent. Although we lost 15 mins waiting which we didn't really have to spare as we were going to a race meeting.

The room was comfortable and functional. It was a good budget stay for an overnight or business stay. The staff were very pleasant and efficient but at busy times it would have been nice to have two on reception to avoid lengthy delays.

We chose this particular Holiday Inn because of it's location. I was playing in a Senior's Golf Championship, about 6 miles away, which was convenient to us. The hotel met our sleepnig requirements nicely, and we also had a couple of meals, which were fine. I dont know whether this comment could be classified as a complaint, but I am confused as to how and why our initial booking costs were taken from our credit card. I have two credit cards which are used at different times of the month. I was assured that payment would not be taken until the day of departure - which would have been on a different card. I found out on leaving that payment had already been taken. I will not find out which card was used until I get my next statement. That apart the stay went well.

Room was very clean, easy to register, good nights sleep, etc Breakfast was not good, food was left standing for a long time. Eggs were dried and shrivelled up. fruit has run out. Not impressed.

Value for money both for accommodation and quality of food. No lift to get upstairs. Tap dripped in bathroom I suspect due to hard water scaling up tap washers.

Bathroom looking very tired. King size bed was made of 2 singles pushed together which were slightly different heights so made the be uncomfortable.
