The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. They helped me locate where I needed to be the next day and even though I only stayed 1 night on business, they happily allowed me to leave my car in the hotel car park all day and orgaised a taxi to my destination. The food was good and well priced.

Location great as we were going to a party at the Coxley Village Hall less than 10 minute walk away and into Wells and Wookey Hole the following day. Setting/surroundings lovely - open fields giving a feeling of space. Staff friendly and the full english breakfast on Sunday morning was fantastic. The only downside was that we felt the rooms were a little dated and could do with a bit of cheering up but other than that we were quite comfortable for one night.

A very pleasant overnight stay. Drinks in the sunny courtyard after a swim, we might have been abroad. We also enjoyed the meals.

Large, comfortable room, well furnished, nice bathroom with very good towels. Pleasant and helpful staff, generous breakfast. I found the television difficult to operate - couldn't change channels without losing picture or sound, but was not particularly bothered and in no way did it detract from a very nice stay.

Dingy room. Significantly overpriced. This should be classified (and priced) as cheap motel accomodation.

Excellent base for exploring Wells, Glastonbury and the Mendips. The hotel rooms and restaurant are situated around a courtyard, with tables and chairs outside to sit in the sun, if any! We were very impressed by the personal service of the Proprietor who was very hands- on and welcoming. Our room (twin requested) had one double and one single bed obviously meant for a child, but both beds were comfortable. The food was very good and portions generous; we enjoyed three full English breakfasts and two very good dinners. Overall we enjoyed our stay which was excellent value for a 3-night break and we would happily stay there again. The room had plenty of storage space and two comfortable easy chairs plus a small tv but we would have appreciated a shelf above the washbasin in the bathroom, as there was nowhere to put toothbrushes and toiletries - our washbags had to go on the floor. And the lighting in both our room and the bar was insufficient to read by - Health & Safety, we were told! Pity about the rain - but we managed to dodge the showers to get to the bar and dining room.

Staff and manager where really friendly and attentive, the room was spacious, nice and perfectly clean - we've got absolutely everything we've asked for. The cooked full English breakfast was excellent - one of the best we ever had, well cooked from great ingredients. The bed mattress was a bit bumpy and a room that size could do with a bigger TV but overall a really enjoyable experience.

The location is perfect for a quiet weekend away. The room was spacious but could do with refurbishment (especially the bathroom)although it was clean with plenty of towels. The size of the TV was too small - not much bigger than a laptop screen and difficult to see from across the room. The layout of the hotel was different (most rooms at ground floor set around a courtyard). The centre courtyard was a good feature, but would benefit from a little tidying up. It would be a good place to sit out in warmer weather The cooked breakfast was excellent - good to see lean thick bacon and decent sausages instead of the usual spindly pathetic things you get at some places! The staff were courteous and helpful. The rooms could do with up-grading (especially the bathrooms). However, the location is very relaxing and we would stay here again if in the area.

Comfortable clean room and very good breakfast. Proprietor very helpful and efficient. Excellent value for money. Water went cold very quickly, so only once of us could have a bath, and there was no shower head attachment to the bath which made it very difficult to wash my hair. Also no hair dryer in room, although as I had taken one with me I didn't check whether one would have been available on request.

Taking into consideration that we stayed at Coxley Vineyard out of season, it would not be fair to fully assess its potential. The staff, (all two of them ) were extremely attentive and accommodating however, the place itself is definitely in great need of TLC. I think that when there are only a couple of guests it is a shame to open up a huge restaurant which was cold and totally lacking intimacy. Perhaps a smaller area designated would have been more suitable.
