Location & food
Staff friendly and helpful. Packed lunch good.
Lacked atmosphere and decor was dated. Food average.
Log Fires Outdoor areas with heating and shelter The view Friendly staff
Really hot in bedrooms even with heating off. Breakfast was only luke warm one day.
beautiful location, staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. We had breakfast and evening meals and food was freshly sourced and of excellent quality. we were offered WI-Fi but had no occasion to use it
highly satisfied with all aspects of the hotel.
Food scenery and hospitality
No evening entertainment
Location couldn't be beaten, food delicious, room spacious and clean and with a delightful balcony over the river. Grounds were beautiful too with somewhere to sit and take it all in with a drink. Staff were extremely polite and helpful and we were especially impressed with the smiley professionalism of the waiter, Mostyn. Would definitely stay again.
The staff at the hotel were excellent , very helpful chatty and welcoming . Fantastic acceptance of dog and beautiful area to run her ragged. The food is excellent !! Would def visit again for a special break .
No faults found really , a little expensive maybe
Chairs in the dining room were not very comfortable
the dinner menu was good and the food well presented
the choice of preserves at breakfast was poor. A pot of local honey would have been well received.

Location Staff Food
Wi-fi and mobile phone signal did not operate for the whole weekend. Digital TV did not work. Drinks particually wine expensive.
The hotel is situated alongside the river Conwy among wonderful scenery. It is ideally located for exploring Snowdonia. Our room was comfortable and clean, with splendid views from the balcony. The staff were friendly and polite, and unfailingly helpful. And the food in the restaurant was first class.
There wasn't anything to complain about.
location and the staff were ellellent the rooms and hotels were very good
there was nothing i disliked
Bedroom very comfortable. Breakfast and evening meal excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly Grounds lovely situated right by the river.
Our room could have done with two lights switches one for the main area and one for the entrance. Would have liked fresh fruit salad choice for breakfast, as well as the prunes!
Excellent food and service from all staff. Lovely to see the chefs at work
Can't think of anything
Super king bed was two singles pushed together, creeky cheap wooden toilet seat, tired furniture with tatty wall paper lining drawers and cupboards - like Nan used to do. Breakfast - cooked breakfast lacked taste. Items nothing special. Why not use quality local bacon, eggs. Overall didn't merit the price tag.
Fantastic location, top quality food, very helpful and freindly staff. Highly recommened
Beautiful position and excellent food.
The Staff were all helpful and efficient Lovely room with balcony and fabulous view of river and countryside Restaurant was marvelous with great food and good service
The location of the hotel is fantastic, very helpful staff the rooms are very clean & the food is very good.
Very disappointed with our last night, my meal was cold as it sat on the side for a while before they bought it over, and the kitchen staff where swearing loudly which I found very offensive.
Everything was wonderful at this hotel. It was clean, it was well staffed, and the meals were high quality. The location is off the beaten track, which is good because we didn't realize how busy Betws-y-Coed coul be. It was a simple 1 mile walk into town.
The hotel was having problems with their wi-fi, but it wasn't their fault. It was a nice break, actually, to put aside the electronics.
I cannot really fault this place. Really enjoyed our stay there. I would highly recommend staying here.
Nothing really comes to mind
Beautiful setting, very idyllic. Walkable to the town. River is stunning. Views to die for across fields and river, mountains. Balcony very nice for evening tipple (why not suggest people dine outside?). Lovely room. Doggy friendly.
Decor in communal areas was old fashioned and lacking. The little fountain was stagnant, bit of a shame. The wi-fi was mostly not available and the leaflet info about it was too formal and legal (felt un-trusting). Didn't see why it was 4 star hotel. Smelt fried food from our room window. Complementary toiletries were bit cheap. Should offer maps of local walks as they are there from the doorstep. Who was the manager? (nice to feel looked after, met?). Reception was a bit lacking, too few staff.
