The rooms were big, and showers good.
The welcome was half hearted, She was not happy that we were considering eating outside the hotel and showed it. It was like stepping back in time, full of stuff everywhere and fussy décor and trimmings. The heating system was archaic, both our rooms were cold, the radiators inadequate but the corridors hot. If you like sleeping in a room inhabited by mice then this is the place for you! I had a bait trap under the chair in my room, was woken at 2am with the mouse having a feed and kept awake for hours! I actually saw it run into the bathroom and disappear behind the bath. When I showed the trap to the owner in the morning I didn't know whether he was embarrassed or shocked. He asked if I'd seen the mouse, when I confirmed I had he was non-plussed. He then just walked off and I didn't see him again before we left. I had no apology and unfortunately we had paid the bill the previous evening or I would have deducted money as compensation. The food appears to be the selling point for this hotel, but our experience this was not the case. Some food was cooked well other was poor.
Quiet room at back of hotel enabled very good night's sleep. Great vegetarian breakfast. Helpful staff.
The hotel was clean and in a great location, great wifi also a pc for you to use. The breakfast was great with great views from the breakfast room. The waitress was super nice and friendly. Only a short walk away the taj mahal indian restaurant was great value and food.
Not a great amount of parking with no clear markings and as we pulled up a woman came out to point out we were in the wrong place...a little dismissive. Owners weren't too friendly but not rude by any means.
Staff were excellent. Cleanliness was spot on. Food was out of this world and amazing value for money.
Would have liked slightly better pillows and mattress as I have an arthritic spine but apart from that was excellent.
beautiful room with many original features. lovely views. good food. quiet location.
soft furnishings getting tired
Breakfast and dinner meals were very good.
Water in shower would run hot and cold which was very uncomfortable. The grounds around the hotel need to be cleaned up. This could be a nice property, but the maintenance of the facility needs to be significantly improved. Disappointed in our stay.
I stayed in the suite with a four poster bed The room had fabulous views and the hotel is set in a beautiful location Delicious Evening meal and tasty breakfast Exceptionally friendly & helpful management and staff
The location was ideal as a base to travel around and see the countryside and islands.
Guests lounge Views Wine choice with dinner Friendly owners dog Biker friendly
Staff very helpful and friendly. Food excellent. Supplied packed lunch in lieu of breakfast on our last day, and ran us to the ferry in their own transport at 6.45am
The staff were superb. The rooms were clean but a little dated. The food was absolutely fantastic. The evening meal, I had Haunch of venison, was brilliant. As was the cheese board and wine. Breakfast to die for! The views from the dinning room are spectacular.
The outlook from the bed room window was poor and the décor was a bit dated.
Excellent location close to great golf courses. Food was really good and staff were always very friendly and helpful.
good food,(dinner& breakfast), comfortable beds, excellent en suite facilities, very helpful friendly staff. Only a short drive to Machrihanish Golf Course, will use again.
Would have liked a bar, but soon forgot about that, just raise a hand and drinks are served!
lovely position a remarkable interesting late Victorian house. Very good food, nicely presented
Nothing to dislike
Owner Noise Cleanliness Very tired looking property Aggression
lovely setting looking over Campbell town harbour area. Friendly staff great breakfast
I did not think that the room was value for money. small compact room.
We arrived as the chef was due to finished but he stayed to cook us a meal which was delicious
Friendly helpful staff. Quiet location a short walk from the centre of town and travel terminuses. Good views over Campbeltown loch. Large room with plenty of facilities.
Service at breakfast at busy times was a bit erratic.
Excellent attention and welcome; generous with attention and provisions Traditional and interesting Victorian mansion. Good breakfast and excellent dinner. Warm and comfortable room. Walking distance to town centre. Beautiful views over the bay Nice selection of food and drinks, especially local whiskies. All made for an enjoyable stay
The outside of the hotel needs attention. First impressions belie the quality of the experience within.
the view from the dining room staff were friendly and welcoming food was excellent
Bathroom did not work. despite appeals to the staff during two-day stay, nothing was done. I understand that this is a constant problem.
Good choice on menus Helpful friendly staff Comfortable rooms Nice distance from town centre
No fans in room so very hot at night. No kippers at breakfast
Location and friendly staff
