Location and friendly staff
All the staff were very helpful, went out of their way to generate a good atmosphere. This encouraged guests to be sociable. Very peaceful location with very good food in the evenings and excellent breakfasts. Single room was small but comfortable.
No dislikes at all.
this is 2nd time we have stayed here in 2009 and 2014 we would recommend we had the same room with great views of the loch
The location of the hotel, lovely view across the lock. The food good. The room was kept very clean
The wide room, the view, the biggest bed I've ever been, the staff very nice, good quality of food.
The location overlooking the water is sensational. Looking up at the hotel when you drive up the hill is very impressive, but that;s where it ends
The room was filled with old dark tatty furniture, and together with a strange smell, a bit like mentholated rubbing oil we felt like we were in a home for very old people. There was a huge wallpaper waterfall behind the bed, completely out of place, probably from the 1970's. It was all so dated. The bathroom however, was ultra modern and looked brand new. Sparkly little lights in the shower, and along the bath. There were two lights above the tiny sink where you need them and one of them was not working. There was no were to put anything, or hang any thing. And despite the shower being very new, there was no pressure. I struggled to wash the shampoo out of my hair.
After a long day of driving, there was no need to go out to eat. Dinner is served in their restaurant, and it was delicious. The staff is wonderful.
We arrived late but there was a personal welcome for us. A beautiful view from a large room
It was great!
Very accomodating owners. We got in at 11:30 PM and instead of being surly with us, Lori prepared a plate of sandwiches with a cold beverage.
Hotel friendly and very comfortble
The location was a bit far for me to walk into town as a a mobility problem...other than that we have no complaints
Great location and staff was very friendly. Excellent dinner.
We were both very pleased with the room and the staff. Everything was as we expected and more the hotel was very clean, the breakfast full and hearty.the location was quiet snd close to amenities.
Very clean, comfortable and spacious room over looking the sea. It was also pleasantly quiet. Free wifi was appreciated. Gentleman at reception was very polite and helpful.
Our breakfast was very average and the service quite poor. The lady on service seemed frazzled and when asked for condiments, was quite rude in her approach (suggesting they were out). For this reason we opted to return home early rather than staying the second night (for which we were still charged the full room rate)... as per the 'policy' of the guest house.
My partner and I decided on a last minute break and found this fantastic small hotel right on the waterside, just the exact peace and tranquillity we needed. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. I would definitely recommend this hotel if your looking to kick back and relax.
View very good from dining room.
General appearance, could benefit from tidying up outside.
The hotel had a terrace overlooking the bay where you can sit and enjoy the view while sipping a glass of ice cold Prosecco. The dinner menu offered a very wide choice including fish. The hotel was charming.
My husband and I had to wait over an hour for our main course and when I spoke to the owner, no apology was offered.I was told that there were several orders before ours even though we had heard a guest ordering the same dish as we were having 30 mins after we had placed ours and he was served before us. The lack of an apology was very annoying.
Excellent welcome, friendly, knowledgeable hosts, beautiful location, well-appointed room with fabulous view, wonderful food.
Water pressure in the bathroom, especially in the shower - water not really hot enough.
It is a cosy boutique hotel
We had the smallest bedroom in the house.
Room too small
The building and location. Bedroom was comfortable. Breakfast menu offered a good choice.
Could have been more welcoming. Standard of maintenance could have been a little better eg flushing mechanism, shaving light switch and the lock on the door required a knack to operate.
Marvellous view , on the loch Natural , friendly welcome and service I was offered a taster of a drink I was not sure about . Very good choice for breakfast
The shower was not very powerful A tap needed seen to
Staff very friendly and meals were v/good
A little too busy( Decor ) etc. for my liking and a bit miss match
The meal was value for money, very tasty, presented well and plenty of it.
Very good hotel.meals were great,
