The staff were very friendly and most helpful - always had a smile on their faces. The grounds were lovely - very nice to sit out the front of the hotel in amongst the trees and gardens. The hotel has obvious old world charm - would recommend it to all. The trip to Edinburgh on the bus took about 45 minutes. The bus stop was out in front of the hotel - not far to walk.

Cheap bus travel available with bus stop right outside the hotel. Family orientated hotel. Good breakfast sets you up for the day. Hotel open all day to non residents for meals and drinks. Events at weekends can mean noise, overcrowding of common areas and difficulty parking.

The owners and the staff are very friendly and cannot do enough to make you feel welcome. In conversation with one of the staff I was told that the owners are 'very good to work for' .....and it shows because the staff are all very attentive and seem happy in their work. There is a really great atmosphere about this hotel.

The welcoming staff and the clean room. It was very cold in the coridors and in the breackfast area, fealth that I would need a jacket or coat to have breackfast. Room was warm though.

Good value. Staff were attentive when asked questions etc.Food was generally good but with restricted menu. Room 16 was not laid out well with little space around the king bed. More attention needed for the functionality of fittings eg curtains in room. The room was booked at a special rate which did not allow for cancellation. This is fine if booking for one or two nights, but, even with a special deal, cancellation for longer term bookings ought to allow for partial refund of monies after deduction of anticipated profit etc..

Staff were genuinely friendly, and very welcoming. Interesting building. Nothing, apart from the business card, which makes the place look like something out of a horror film (which it is not.

The greeting after a hard long drive in the dark. So welcoming. We were there for a seminar but found the area so interesting for hill walking and so near the wonderful city of Edinburgh. We will return.

The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast left a little to be desired - bacon and sausage particularly nasty, however, black pudding fantastic!

This is the third time we have stayed at the Craigiebield this year. The room this time was superior to the ones we stayed in before. Very clean, lovely breakfasts and dinners. The young lady who served us breakfast on two occasions (and dinner once) was a credit to the hotel. Having to enter the hotel reception by going through the bar. Smokers congregating on the entrance steps.

The value for money was outstanding. The room was very nicely appointed with comfortable beds and the bathroom was great. The soundproofing was fantastic which meant a good night's sleep. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The breakfasts were generous and well cooked. All in all it was a very pleasant stay!

This hotel was excellent value for money and the food in the restaurant both at dinner and for breakfast exceeded our expectations and was competitively priced.. The current owners have only had the hotel about a year and they are making improvements. We would not hesitate in staying here again.

The premises were comfortable and overall clean and tidy. The entertainment that I had to pay extra for was disappointing. The humour was blue and not funny.

Friendliness of the staff. Also when we arrived the manager told us there was a jam session that evening, so he did not hesitate to change the room that was first allocated. He put us at the back of the hotel where we could't hear anything I would like to have seen perhaps a small arm chair in the room. Also I felt the T.v was too high up on the wall.

Large room and very quiet. Service good. As an interior designer I would have prefered to enter into a reception hall rather than have to go through the public bar which was very busy.I Would make use of the area to the left of the front door as a reception area with its lovely arch feature and put a wall and door to the right of the front door to separate bar.The reception area could have sofas and be used to have coffee.

Nice, comfortable and well equipped room. Friendly and helpful staff. Entry to hotel reception was through the public bar. Given that the bar was hosting a band that evening and there were lots of non-residents listening and drinking, it was difficult to get to Reception
