Good food Refurbished rooms Welcoming and friendly staff Good location for Speyside Way Good whisky bar
At reception could have explained what public rooms were available and where No opening times for whisky promulgated. Rooms well decorated but nice desk, no chair! No briefing notes in room outlining meal times, fire protocol, places to visit etc. WiFi reception very poor. Not available for most of the time we were there.
Everything..... From every little extra in the room to the service & food.
I didn't not like anything my only very small gripe was that I could here the staff when they were outside having a break. I heard them late late at night & early in the morning too.
Beautiful hotel, with an excellent restaurant/whisky bar on the ground floor. Excellent breakfast included! Great location within driving distance of many distilleries.
The sink in our bathroom was an old-fashioned style, with 2 separate faucets for hot and cold, no real option for warm. While this might be an "authentic" touch, I prefer having a faucet that I can set to whichever temperature I like.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location of the hotel is excellent just 5-7 minutes drive from main distilleries and Dufftown. Hotel restaurant both dinner and breakfast was excellent, we wish we have eaten more! Nature around the hotel is beautiful. Car parking is easy, just near the hotel. Scottish tablets at the room is extremely delicious.
Didn't have a fridge.
food in the restaurant very friendly staff
shower doesn't work good
Staff were wonderful, helpful and friendly. Knowlegeable about whisky, the location and facilities. Dining rooms and bars supplied food and drinks of the highest calibre. Will stay there again.
wifi connectivity a problem
The hotel has been recently renovated and no expense was spared. The furnishings and accommodations were top notch. The staff at the hotel was accommodating and we loved that breakfast was included in our room rate. The Copper Dog bar is wonderful and hotel is also opening another bar that will have 1000+ whiskys in stock by the end of the year. Great service in the hotel and restaurant.
There isn't much to do near the hotel without getting in a car or hopping a bus to other areas. More shops/restaurants within walking distance would have been a plus. Also the hotel is located next to a very busy road and the noise in the room makes for very difficult sleep when sleeping by that road. We asked to move to a different room and were accommodated after the first evening but ask for a room on the front side of the hotel overlooking the river vs. by the road. Also - we had some laundry done by the hotels service and three dress shirts of my husbands were ruined as they had clearly washed the shirts in washers that had used bleach before.
I got food poisoning from mussels and the sauce of the eggs Benedict was split and still served which made my sons breakfast look as if it was swimming in butter. The staff were not very apologetic. Thought it was over priced for what it was.
Room was excellent bed very comfortable views lovely
Not enough staff on for breakfast no biscuits replenished after first night
Breakfast was very good and the staff are simply excellent.
Restaurant out of action, no whiskey bar as advertised, no drapes in any public areas( looks unfinished ), no formal restaurant it's now pub style eating in the bar. This hotel is not properly open following it's refit nor is anything finished.
Friendly helpful staff
Smoked haddock breakfast on the last day varied from cold to hot ?issue with microwave? Essentially inedible. Pity as cooked breakfasts were excellent.
Great restaurant staff and food. Very fresh.
Tiny room with poor lighting, inadequate wifi, broken bed, filthy chair rail in bathroom. TV coaxial not safe - separate dorm connecting wire.
Looks and feels like staying in a manor home. Room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Food in beautiful pub was very tasty--as was the beer and cider!
Only complaint--couldn't stay longer! Wanted to stay from now on!
Fabulously comfy bed. Spotlessly clean. Lovely breakfast.
No Wifi. Poor shower flow.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was top of the line with high end new fixtures
The room was at ground level and lacked privacy screens. There was lots of foot traffic that could see right into our room. There was no WIFI in our room and a very weK signal even in the public rooms. The hotel has been recently renovated and they say they are working on these things. In the meantime the rooms are over priced for the facilities on offer.
Friendly attentive staff, excellent food and a beautiful location
was at this hotel previously and being local in the 1930/1940,s new of this hotel at that time. Returned on this occasion as I was born on that date in 1934.
Excellent location makes this hotel ideal for taking in the whisky tours/sights in the Speyside area.
could not connect to internet on their wi-fi. some road noise with windows open.
Great location, the house dog, restaurant food was great, the staff were helpful, the room was good. Enjoyed a great stay.
Poor wifi in room.
The location is excellent, the hotel is charming, comfortable, clean with large bay windows inviting the light and nature indoors. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and helpful. One can walk to nearby towns like Aberlour or Dufftown and visit distilleries taking the lovely trail by the river.
The Wifi wasn't working...but then again, i was happy to be out of touch and be totally in the Speyside mood .
Location, staff, decor. Nice not having a tv, this should be an option! Good Roberts radios
A little more coffee in the rooms, coat hooks to hang up coats and brollies and a shoe tray. WiFi and internet a little bit dodgy, needs investigationg
Young friendly staff and good location
The room was small and hot- we asked for a fan as we couldn't sleep but were told they didn't have any.the bathroom had no window and the ceiling fan didn't work so was very hot. The bath plunger didn't go down so unable to fill and have a bath. The tv didn't work as the remote control wasnot compatible with the tv and took 2 days and several requests to sort out.the wifi didn't work on day one.the receptionists were very nice and said they would let someone know of the difficulties we had experienced whist charging us the full amount but no one has been in touch.we were relieved to get to our next stopover when we were finally able to get a good nights sleep and a bath. the hotel has recently been refurbished and had a makeover loosing all of it's previous character and without checking the detail...a great pity with such a great location .
