VERY HELPFULL STAFF
IT WAS FINE COULD DO WITH UPDATEING
friendly staff. Good service. comfortable bed.
bedroom a little too warm
Comfortable beds Good breakfast served promptly convenient location
Bar area quite dark and in need of refurbishment
Despite hosting a wedding and being very busy staff made time for us and the wedding did not impede on our stay in any way. Breakfast was excellent
No complaints at all. Will definaty stay again
Craiglands has history and character. If nowadays its grandeur is slightly faded, that only adds to its charm. We arrived on a damp Sunday evening after a long drive and were given a warm greeting by friendly and efficient staff. Our bedroom was enormous, spotlessly clean and the en-suite facilities modern and sparkling. The manager was friendly and solicitous, but not in the least obtrusive. The food was good and locally sourced, the hotel was well-heated and we left after an excellent breakfast, already planning a return visit.
Some local cask ale in the bar would have been a welcome addition!
Character of the hotel ,staff very friendly and helpful ,food fabulous would stay again well decorated rooms for an older property
Creaky floor boards in room and the decor in the restaurant too much black needs to be lighter
Lack of staff on duty.
the room was a beautiful room except for the noise of the floorboards.
the noise from creaking floorboards keps us awake nearly all night the noise was horrendous.
Comfy bed Friendly & helpful staff
Bedroom & ensuite bathroom in need of refurbishment Meal in brasserie was poor quality
Room was very comfortable much better than the last time we stayed with you. Bed very snuggy.
For £10 a breakfast it wasn't good value, coffee was poor, eggs were watery, bacon was fatty and not cooked that well.
Reception staff very pleasant Disabled access room (105) spacious, airy and clean. Bathroom clean with low bath. Quiet and set in lovely grounds.
Neither the bath nor the wash basin would drain properly. In the shower this meant you were soon up to your shins in dirty water as some was coming back up from the drain. This was reported after the first night to the manager directly but no action was taken. I consider this inaction as a potential health hazard as debris from the drain was coming back up and the occupant of the shower was being contaminated by this. This was the same with the wash hand basin, and again reported but no action taken. Disabled parking is sparse with only a very small faded sign to indicate this area. The first night we arrived there was a car with no blue badge parked across the disabled ramp preventing access. This car was reported to reception but no action was taken as it was there the next evening too. This time it was parked across 2 spaces, again reception was informed, but whilst doing so the able bodied driver overheard our complaint and said he would move the car. No action was taken on the either night by the staff to advise the driver not to use the disabled parking bays. I would suggest more clearly defined signs and road markings to indicate these bays and perhaps another sign requesting guests not to abuse these bays as alternative parking is too far away and ramps need to be kept clear for safe disabled access.
Surprisingly comfortable bed, and huge room. Free wi-fi
Poor food, Long way from town centre (advertises 5 minute walk to centre, but actually 18 minutes down-hill, and a lot longer back up the hill!} Car parking difficult when functions on.
Food im evening excellent.
Buffet breakfast over cooked should perhaps get times people are ontending to eat amd cook accordinlg.y
The hotel is a lovely building in a great location. Staff really helpful and great choice at breakfast
The only thing wrong here is all the different sets of stairs to get around
Staff ultra friendly. Room very comfortable and clean. Bathroom outstanding.
Only enough shampoo and bodywash for one person.
Not enough sockets in the room. Room was far smaller than what the picture looked like on the website. Sink had a large crack. Music playing very lound until 00.30 in the morning. Call reception 5 times and on the 5th time answered. Free wi-fi but had to call reception to find out what the code was. Shower mat looked very old & used. No assistance with bags. Taxi was very annoyed he was told a time 10 minutes earlier than what we requested. No breakfast included.
The food was lovely very intimate and relaxed
Appliances not working and took over an hour for someome to come and sort it out for us
The hotel location and the friendliness of the staff was exemplary. The breakfast and evening meals were very well prepared and presented. Our stay there was a very pleasant experience and excellent value for money. Our room was very spacious and very clean and comfortable with an excellent view from the window.
They gave me a refund!
This hotel needs a full refurbishment the room was tired and worn, the bathroom was old and looked institutionalised. I asked if we could be moved to another room but this was even worse. The receptionists attitude was very curt and the manager couldn't even be bothered to see me. In the end I asked for a refund and we went to another hotel.
Restaurant food was good, but restaurant was ambiance free.
Clealiness of room was very poor. No ventilation in bathroom apart from very dirty window that was difficult to open. Heated towel rail did not work so unable to dry towels. Heating in room not working. poor quality mattresses on beds.
Classic old building, well tended grounds all in a fantastic peacefull setting. Could imagine The Craiglands matching any venue when in its prime or newly refurbished. Friendly staff, comfortable furniture and beds and pleasant decor.
Arrived on a Saturday evening(Father & daughter)reported sink taking 5 minutes to empty so impossible to get hot or even luke warm water to wash hands or face.Reported fault again Sunday evening, staff kindly offered to move us to another twin room, but on return were offered 2 seperate single rooms so we put up with existing twin room.Card entry to bedroom failed 4 out of 6 times causing trek to reception and back-after hiking for miles on Ilkley Moor, not appreciated! Exit sign when leaving by car is too small, if you dont notice it whilst on foot could leave the way you came in which we observed car doing.
Location to town and moors very informative staff and comfy beds
Food was a bit expensive £10 for a cooked breakfast was a bit much
Location good views good
The Craiglands would have been a great hotel (in it's day) we stayed Sunday night at £60 room only. I wouldnot have wanted to pay the normal nightly rate of £120. Bathroom particularly dated, shower hard to control
Clean spacious rooms
Very noisy as hotel is a wedding venue, we stayed for two nights and both nights the music went on until late.
Lovely receptionist Sunday morning, apologised and was very friendly. Room okay, clean and bathroom enormous, wondered why they hadn't put in a separate shower to the bath as shower in bath only adequate.
On arrival no one at reception and no apology for keeping us waiting. A function taking place and we were given a room right above the function room! The noise was horrendous, complained, it eventually stopped approx1230 am. On reflection thought initial receptionist poor as she should have checked whether we were with the function party. However morning receptionist very good, apologised and explained they should have allocated us a different room
