Location was good, room clean
Breakfast just alright. A buffet not to my taste. Why not make it fresh? Perhaps a little over priced.
We liked the food and the very comfortable room. Staff were very helpful as well.
We could have done without a Valentine's Day Michael Buble evening going on till very late immediately below our room!
breakfast very good
shower did not work only cold water came out of it. reported it onto reception in the morning but was not fixed and so could not have a shower the next day either. Flush on loo not very good either
Friendly staff and very helpful . Excellent meals . Needed to book several rooms for , a family funeral . Craigside could cope and it was near enough to the crem.
Friendly, helpful and courteous staff. Good location and general facilities. Ample parking with good lighting at night. Upgraded to a cavernous bridal suite.
With only one radiator in the whole suite, the bathroom was freezing and the Jacuzzi didn't work. Carpet in the bedroom needed a thoroughly good clean. Mediocre WiFi signal.
The hotel is a bit weathered however it is comfortable clean the room was massive and bed comfortable and staff were very helpful especially as I called them to say we would arrive late and the desk offered to organise food. Would stay here again and thank the staff for their help.
The room is massive but just a bit worn and tired
We had booked a family rioom but when we checked in we were shown to a room with only a double bed!! It took an hour for them to sort it out and when they presented us with a cot it had no bed linen
The room and the facilities and also the location.
The fact we paid nearly £70 for the night and didnt have breakfast included.
Run down Dodge lift Cold room In desperate need of decoration
Staff very helpful Close to the moor Great Vietnamese restaurant in walking distance.
Lovely old building, needs some general decorating in places. However appreciate how difficult it is toaintain these beautiful old buildings.
television not working/ no soap in bathroom.
Location and views
We've stayed at the craiglands previously and had a lovely time. The hotel is dated but you can feel how grand it would have been in it's day.
Our room must have been over the hotel kitchens so on arrival there was a strong smell of chips. When we returned home from our evening out it turned out that our room was actually over the disco room. The music was far too loud to tolerate so we were moved to the next floor above. This room was tiny
Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable and clean
There was only a partial breakfast buffet - juices and cereals. Ordering cooked breakfast was done at the table; and took fully 20 minutes to arrive and was a bit cold. Got the impression they were understaffed
The bathroom was good size. Most requirement provided. No shower cap. Bed comfortable
No biscuits with tea making facilities Shower ran cold at times Room very warm and unable to adjust the heating Staff could have been more friendly
the hotel is tired ---the lift needs technical service -- run down place
The hotel was very clean
People smoking at the door entrance and cigarrett ends right next to the main entrance making the lobby smell of smoke.
Our first floor room was well proportioned with a pleasant view.
The bar had very little atmosphere.
We were very impressed with this young man - he had most courteous and helpful manner, with a lovely sense of humour. He should go far.
Excellent short stay, a very cosy place to come back to at the end of the day especially as the weather was not too good. The staff could not do enough for us. The food was great and no need to go out to eat. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and woud love to go again.
I am reluctant to criticise in any way but want to be honest. We did find the dining area rather dark and cold and did not seem to have any atmosphere even when there were other guests there. This did not distract from our enjoyment of the food though!
Comfortable bed. Good tea & coffee supplies in the room.
Poor value for money, as room 124 was quite small for the cost, with a broom cupboard as a bathroom. With a lot of air in the hot water plumbing, it couldn't provide a constant flow of water in the morning due to the demands on the entire hotel system, so not able to use the shower. You don't need an alarm clock, as the air rushing through the radiator will wake you at 6.30am. Very impersonal and felt that the staff didn't really care, especially when reporting the issues to reception when checking out. Hotel is looking very tired and many corners are being cut to save on costs.
Paid over the odds for a very small room overlooking a roof.....very very poor value!!!
windows that don't work; wet wallpaper in common areas, and damp generally; appalling breakfasts; water coming thro roof in reception area; confusion over payment; faded glamour, very faded; needs about £25million spending on it
age was starting to show
The smallest hotel bed I have ever stayed in, a tidy double.
