My wife & I have stayed at Craig Manor approximately 5 times now & we have always enjoyed our stay. We have always found the staff to be very effecient & polite. The hotel is very clean & tidy & we have had different rooms in the past & they have all been clean & tidy & every thing in working order. The choice of food on the menu & the quality is superb, we have never had any problems in our 5 visits & we will definately be coming back, it was a shame we could not stay longer this time but we hope to fit in a long weekend before the season ends. We certainly reccomend the hotel to others.

Good location being in the tourist centre of Bowness. However, as the weather was warm we had to keep the windows open at night and I was surprised at the amount of traffic noise into the early hours we expeienced in the room facing the road. A previous stay in a lake facing room was fine with views. The room was nicely decorated and the shower was good. Traffic noise in the road facing room although I'm sure in cold weather with the windows closed this would not have been a problem.

The hotel is conveniently situated for shopping, restaurants, pubs and is within easy reach for all the local tourist attractions. A 5-10 minute walk takes you down into Bowness and Lake Windermere promenade and marina where you can take a cruise across to Ambleside or Lakeland. For the more active there are numerous walks .The staff at the Craig Manor are very friendly and helpful. Food at the hotel is excellent, the buffet breakfast is brilliant and there is a wide choice of menu for the evening meal,Lunch is also available but you couldn't possibly manage it after a hearty breakfast. We will definitely stay again. All I would alter next time would be to ask for a room at the back overlooking the lake as it was noisy eary in the morning at the front as the hotel is on the road side. Having said that our room was lovely with a beautiful en suite bathroom.

First class breakfast and dinner, with courteous service, in Baileys Restaurant. Quiet atmosphere. WiFi available, even in room. Good view from room, over Windermere and fells. Off-road parking space. Double room cramped and small, with limited storage space and few shelves. Only one armchair. Tiny kettle (faulty) fed by trailing mains lead.

The staff were very good, quite accomadating and helpful. The room was lovely and clean, comfortable with great views. The hotel was spacious, although it was almost full at the time of our visit, we did not feel cramped, with plenty of space to sit and have a drink in the lounges,(great views from all the guest areas) and always plenty of room in the dining room. The breakfast was well prepared and plentiful. We did request some speciality items for our breakfast and the hotel provided them without question, suppling them without extra charges. Would definately recommend to family or friends, a lovely stay for or special occassion. Thanks Craig Manor!

We have been to Craig Manor many times over the past few years and it is a wonderful place to stay. The location is fantastic it is just a short walk down to the lake and the shops. There are loads of places to eat and drink and lots of things to see and do. The staff at Craig Manor are great nothing is too much trouble for them and the hotel has a very relaxed feel to it so you feel right at home. The food in the hotel is very very nice and not too expensive. It is great for families and couples alike. We booked for two nights this trip but we decided to stay on another night as the weather was fantastic this was no problem to the hotel staff who juggled things around so we could stay in the same rooms. I can not praise them highly enough!!!

Good location, short walk to the lake with plenty of shops and pubs/cafes on the way. Lovely bar area, great view from dining room . Tasty breakfast. Although our double room was rather small, which is ok for 1 night stay, it was clean. The biggest issue was that you could hear every single noise in the corridor and doors slamming and floor squeaking. Also hotel is situated on a main road hence we could hear all noises from people and cars passing by, as our window was overlooking the road, even when the window was closed you could still hear noises, not as loud though. As the result we didn't have a good sleep. Our friends had the same story. The room was overpriced for what it was. Don't think we will be coming back again.

First of all, the views of the lake and mountains from the lounge, dining room and some of the bedrooms are fantastic. Secondly, the staff are all extremely pleasant, helpful and laid back (in a good way!). Thirdly, we like the fact that it is clearly not part of a chain and has its own character. I also like the fact that it has easy access to Windermere, Bowness and the lake - we came for a long weekend without a car and it was never a problem. The food is also very good. The positives more than compensate for the negatives. Some of the rooms are not really worth the money and there is a traffic noise issue with at least some of the rooms facing the road. We were not happy with our original room but we were upgraded to a quiter room the following day without any fuss and no extra charge.

Great Breakfast and very nice staff. We Were a bit disappointed because we booked a four poster room and it was awful so we went for another room which was nice new and clean and still paid the same price which i didn't expect.
