we loved the bed.the food was lovely
the lake was a bit far away not like in the advert and we upgraded to a super king room but the jacuzzi had been broke for 6 months. not good on your honeymoon
we booked into the Craig Manor hotel for 4 days to celebrate our wedding anniversary. On arriving we were given afternoon tea, which we found out later was on the house for our anniversary. the meals were excellent and the spa bath was fantastic after our long walks.
Cant think of anything.
Very Clean Lovely Bed & Shower Good Location Lovely Chinese lady served us in the restaurant couldn't be more friendly and cheerful. Great Food
Thread bear stairs Tired / Dark Rooms Chipped/Dark Furniture Dated Décor Bored/ couldn't be bothered unsmiling bar staff.
Friendly Staff. Nice room. Good location and parking.
The weather. Shower temperature not hot enough,
Given our stay was a birthday surprise for my partner, I had spoken directly to the hotel personnel upon booking to arrange an early check in. This was accommodated for with no issues and an extremely lovely long weekend we had. Pleasant staff, lovely breakfast with addition relaxing seating areas within the hotel for a coffee or the bar area. Even a 'back door key' for those returning after 11.00 pm. Overall, a comfortable, pleasant hotel.
Hotel a little outdated with decor, however inline with surroundings and quaintness of village and location.
The location was amazing with beautiful scenery ! The service was great.
The rooms are quite small but it was only for one night use. The breakfast was ok, the food is kept heated under lamps and the bacon was very hard and sausages didn't taste very nice!
The location, comfortable hotel, lovely food, the staff were very helpful and we were made up with the family room.
The location is excellent, were not bothered by the road outside, no noise at all. Beds very comfy and rooms very clean. Good choice at breakfast and plenty of good quality tea and coffee.Staff all very helpful and polite.
Bedrooms very tired and dated, old pine furniture and the smallest sink you have ever seen in the bathroom (room 103). The lighting is very poor and for what we paid I expected a higher standard of furnishings.
location, comfort, price. nothing fancy, but clean. pleasant staff. excellent breakfast.
Views and location Food Cleanliness of the hotel & room
Parking could be improved slightly
Close to lake
Does need updating and decorating
Staff were amazing. Breakfast was very substantial. Location for Bowness was excellent.
Awoke with bites on my left arm! Bathroom was very tired and in desperate need of updating.
The location is great .just a few minutes walk gets you into the center of Bowness or even Windermere.
can"t think of anything I didn"t like.Very good All round.
The room was excellent, we had a view which would have been great if the weather had been fine.
The location close to the lake and village of Bowness is very good, the rooms were of an acceptable standard, the building does have character and some beautiful views.
There were a few points which overall soured my stay : 1/ the curtains in my room (304) were not suitable for the window, leaving annoying cracks of light in the morning. 2/ for a building of this size I would expect more than one disabled parking bay, a sign pointing out the extra flight of stairs if forced to park at the rear would be good to 3/ the free Wi-Fi in public areas in my experience actually only worked in the vicinity of reception, my wife and I could get no connection at the bar or in the dining room. 4/ I have never had a hotel refuse to post a letter for me, this one did, luckily they did direct me to the nearest post box, at the bottom at the hill, in the rain!
One member of the bar staff was particularly rude but I wouldn't like to have a downer on the whole of the hotel for this one incident
It was a memorable stay for both of us. The hotel was suitably located and the staff was very helpful. The food was excellent.
Breakfast was good
Dust on lampshades and sides. Cobwebs in room Over priced for facilities
staff pleasant - breakfast nice. dining area was good nice bar area drinks reasonable. room towels and bedding were good.
From our room you could hear a fan coming on and off - room was close to road. Expensive (£144) -when checking in saw other receipts that paid lot less feeling a bit robbed.main area carpets bit tatty. sofas in bar area but tatty.
Very beautiful lake view from the dinning hall. Nice room, clean and comfort.
Location is excellent
Room wasnt very big. Old fashioned decor. TV was small and didnt work - it was stuck on BBC Radio 4. Says king size beds but it wasn't it was a normal double. For the money I would expect better. No facilities like a pool or anything.
Good location nice views
No lift . Paying extra for breakfast
A very good hotel but not cheap. Its very clean and good quality furnishings etc. Excellent breakfast Walking distance to town centre Parking on site
Our visit was somewhat marred by a surly barman who shut the bar and lounge early. He realy should find another job if he doesnt like being a barman
We liked the location, the staff were very friendly
The room was small and cramped for a double room, nowhere to sit other than on the bed, it was dark, we had to have the lights on during the day
