Relaxed atmosphere. Dinner was of a very high standard and served by a friendly staff followed by a few drinks in front of a real fire. Hearty breakfast before going back up the fells.
Tricky narrow and steep access from car park to road. Bedroom a little small for price.
The hotel has friendly staff, lovely food and great views. The room was smaller than expected but very clean.
Hotel very good position. Staff very pleasant & helpful breakfast was great & plentiful.
Wifi was poor away from the bar / reception.
breakfast was excellent quality and very well cooked. staff were always polite and attentive and friendly.
no bad experiences we had a very enjoyable stay.
Food was excellent, and easy walk into the town centre, though there is room for improvement within the hotel itself.
Paid extra for a room upgrade 'deluxe kingsize' disappointed on arival to note we wear in a regular room and the paid upgrade was supposedly only for a lake view though it was stated otherwise on the booking confirmation. Also specified that an attic room was not appropriate as my boyfriend is over 6ft and on arrival we realised that we had been put in that and the hotel said there was nothing they could do about it as they had no other rooms even though the sign outside the hotel stated that there was still available rooms. Customer services, not the best.
The way we were treated was excellent and professional the food was cooked to perfection the room and the hotel in general was very clean and tidy.the staff could not do enough for us lays friendly and cheerful
The only problem was the wifi as where are room was situated the signal was not very good until you got to the reception, but never caused us major problems
The feel of the building. Breakfast was great too. Staff were very polite and helpful
No wifi in the room. Downstairs was available just not upstairs
The location was good and the hotel very comfortable. Food was excellent and the staff very helpful.
There was no lift but a lot of stairs. Although this did not affect me it could be a problem for older people.
Very good hotel and fantastic location.
Not a thing!
Location, nice pub down stairs, view
room smaller than expected
Good restaurant with great tasting food and service in a pleasant ambiance and all reasonably priced. Fantastic location just a few minutes walk into town and a further 10mins to the lake. Room was comfortable and clean, with good room facilities.
The shower only had luke warm water so had to run the bath for hot water. Room was a bit smaller than expecting and furniture was a bit tired looking - but minor issues really.
Everything about the hotel was excellent, we couldn't fault anything.
THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL WAS JUST A NICE WALK FROM BOWNESS VILLAGE EXCELLECT THE STAFF WERE VERY PLEASANT AND THE ROOMS WERE NICELY DECORATED WE HAD A LOVELY VIEW AND THE BREAKFAST WAS GREAT
THE CARPETS IN THE HOTEL WERE A LITTLE TIRED & WORN
Staff room car park
Poor wifi in room
Been to the lake district many times but this time was made extra special by the hotel and friendly helpful staff.
how accommodating they, allowing a late check out, they reduced our bill because another ftld make at last minute
we loved the bed.the food was lovely
the lake was a bit far away not like in the advert and we upgraded to a super king room but the jacuzzi had been broke for 6 months. not good on your honeymoon
we booked into the Craig Manor hotel for 4 days to celebrate our wedding anniversary. On arriving we were given afternoon tea, which we found out later was on the house for our anniversary. the meals were excellent and the spa bath was fantastic after our long walks.
Cant think of anything.
Very Clean Lovely Bed & Shower Good Location Lovely Chinese lady served us in the restaurant couldn't be more friendly and cheerful. Great Food
Thread bear stairs Tired / Dark Rooms Chipped/Dark Furniture Dated Décor Bored/ couldn't be bothered unsmiling bar staff.
Friendly Staff. Nice room. Good location and parking.
The weather. Shower temperature not hot enough,
Given our stay was a birthday surprise for my partner, I had spoken directly to the hotel personnel upon booking to arrange an early check in. This was accommodated for with no issues and an extremely lovely long weekend we had. Pleasant staff, lovely breakfast with addition relaxing seating areas within the hotel for a coffee or the bar area. Even a 'back door key' for those returning after 11.00 pm. Overall, a comfortable, pleasant hotel.
Hotel a little outdated with decor, however inline with surroundings and quaintness of village and location.
The location was amazing with beautiful scenery ! The service was great.
The rooms are quite small but it was only for one night use. The breakfast was ok, the food is kept heated under lamps and the bacon was very hard and sausages didn't taste very nice!
The location, comfortable hotel, lovely food, the staff were very helpful and we were made up with the family room.
