The Craigtay Hotel is superbly situated close to central Dundee, and also close to Dundee Airport. The hotel is surrounded by numerous world famous Scottish links and championship golf courses including St Andrews. Excellent Tay fishing, and some of the finest walking in Scotland in the Angus Glens, in close proximity. Combine this with great heritage of Dundee, the great outdoors, big country touring and sightseeing and adventure opportunities. Make the Craigtay Hotel your base for exploring Angus, Fife, Perthshire and the Scottish Highlands. Or just relax, unwind and rediscover yourself. The bar and breakfast were good. handy location for Dundee or Broughty Ferry. The room was tired looking and in need of some maintenance. Bathroom tiles and wetwall were cracked and broken. Wallpaper border was secured with board pins.

Friendly staff, good breakfast, good value. Location ok if you're driving but a bit of a walk from the centre if you're on foot with heavy bags, as I was. Couldn't get wifi in the room and struggled to make it work in public areas, probably my problem.

The staff were really friendly and the lower part of the hotel, bar and restaurant were very well done, clean and tidy. The food was excellent, both the evening meal and breakfast. I found the price of meals very reasonably priced. I would certainly return and use the hotel again. Unfortunately my first weekend fell on afootball day and things were very noisy but I was given a refund and a profuse apology. My second weekend was so different. The rooms are a bit dated but I believe they are due refurb. The shower room and toilet area although clean require a complete refurb.

The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. The dinner and breakfast was very good too. Pillows were a bit hard and en suite just a wee bit too small, however, adequate and very clean.

The bar and dining room area was stunning, a beautifully Decorated area that was a pleasure to sit in. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was fab. Once you were at the top of the stairs and entered the corridor to get to your room and then entering your room it was like being in a different hotel, very dated but clean. Don't know if they are planning to refurbish the corridor and rooms as I think this let's the hotel down a bit. If the rooms were redecorated to the same standard as the bar/dining area would pay more.

We were travelling with our granddaughter to the openday of the Abertat University so the hotel was perfectly located for the overnight stay we needed afterwards. The downstairs rooms were in good order ans well decorated and, clearly had been recently refurbished. The price was very reasonable. The location, though perfect for out purpose is in a commercial area overlooking the docks and is probably not an idea holiday location. We had two rooms, one the first floor and one on the second floor. The first floor room was okay but the second floor room was tatty. If we had been staying longer we would have changed either rooms or, failing that, hotels. Having said all of that, it was perfect for our purpose and, it was clean and, as I have already said, the price was very reasonable. I would not recommend the hotel to others without making them aware of its shortcomings

Throw back to the 70's, the room Number 11, had a broken toilet, the bed was really old and the springs could be felt, old dingy furiture, orange woodchip paper and filthy, the dial on the shower was non exsistant and you had to avoid the broken floor board to get into it... and who has carpet in a bathroom... ad to top it off, the room ext door were rowing all night... overall needs totally gutting and startig from fresh......................View from the bedroom window was 12 oil storage drums which were huge and hummed all night!! great stay... NOT...

Front of House facilities were good Stayed ther twice now and rooms need updating. The shower curtains most certainly require renewing. I thought the bar would have been open later to work around the guests

The facilities Downstairs were exellant. The reception, bar and dinning staff were great. The breakfast had quality and quantity. Thank you. I think the decor in the rooms can be improved. Basic stuff ie the shower curtain could be washed and changed. The tiles in the shower were cracked. The sealant around the shower was not completed. Repairing this will save money in the long run. The mirror light in the bathroom did not work. Please note other than the comments above i will recommend and use it again. Value for money was had.

The staff were only to glad to be of service and were extreamly friendly. This I appreicated as I was a solo women traveler. From the time I checked in to the time I left they were all helpful, especially the barmaid it was her first day it looked like she had been there for ever. She really made me feel relaxed as I usually would not have used the bar being on my own. Well done everyone.

The staff were very friendly and we had an evening meal before going out which was really reasonably priced and was lovely food which I would say was all cooked fresh when ordered. The only thing I would say is that the bedrooms could do with being modernised. They are very clean and a great size but a bit dated.
