A delightful little village, friendly.
A delightful little village, friendly. Superb cafes; The Deli and Unwined, were great, good food and staff. There is also a lovely Sweet shop, all central. You need to go out of Strathpeffer for views as it is hidden in the valley. A lot here for a small place.

Accomadation was wonderfully clean, warm and very quiet as well as peaceful. The only issue we had was the parking spot is clearly marked but the lodge could do with a sign from car park pointing you in right direction. (you go between the two lodges in car park down a path to get access to eagle and otter lodges. Apart from that if you are disabled try to get the other lodges it is downa gravel path and not so easy for crutches and a mobility scooter will struggle on the gravel. But I would still highly recommend these properties to anyone wanting a peaceful, stay.

Excellent facilities in the village centre.
Excellent facilities in the village centre. We used the village shop and also the Chinese takeaway, but the Deli in the square is also highly rated, although we didn't use it ourselves. The village itself is very picturesque and ideal for local walks and also as a base for wider excursions.

Strathpeffer is an idyllic setting in the highlands of Scotland. A quite place to relax and get close to nature. Walking around the town is interesting enough or a pleasant stroll in the hills easily accessed.

Strathpeffer is a lovely little quirky town!
Strathpeffer is a lovely little quirky town! Very interesting history with lovely Victorian properties. I visualised it as a little Xmas town with its spires and churches. A friendly community spirit! Also a lovely bistro cafe and an amazing Chinese restaurant! The best ever! Need to go back to resample 😊

2 things that makes me give a bad report on the hotel access almost non existant dangerous driveway full of very deep potholes enough to damage your car very poor lighting [so you cant see the potholes until you hit them parking hopeless not a good start.under staffed and over priced would not recomend
Holly Lodge was so welcoming and comfortable. Fiona was an amazing host, very knowledgeable about the area and did everything to ensure our stay was memorable. From the amazing breakfasts, to the hot water bottle when sitting in the conservatory. The location is the perfect postcard picture, the views are outstanding. It was very quiet and a great starting place for some lovely walks. Including a walk around the stunning golf course just minutes up the road. I highly recommend Strathpeffer and Holly Lodge and if possible, spend a few days.
Was very surprised to find the grand old railway guest house. In generally excellent condition with a few exceptions eg outside verandahs are in need of refurbishment. Rooms were enormous and comtortable. Facilities were grand. Dining room menu was surprisingly low grade food in the context of the establishment but was priced accordingly. Perhaps the main restauant had a more elegant menu but it was closed for a private function during our one night stay.
Very quaint property with excellent care to detail. The heart of the village is two blocks down the hill with local restaurants, food shop, hotels with bars, etc. The area seems rich with history with lovely walks and hikes nearby. If you are into distillery tours/tastings. The Glen Ord “Singleton” distillery is about 12 min drive.
Fiona and Andrew were great hosts and breakfast was well served excellent fare.
This is an older hotel I suspect on the Highland bus tour route.. the rooms are of classic Scottish vogue tartan rooms etc. But you still have your facilities in room t.v. tea making etc having stayed here years before it held no unpleasant surprises the staff were welcoming and cheerful as ever Strathpeffer is beautiful wee place! And you're just yards from a great eatery!
A lovely and spacious "cottage" all on one level with furnished lounge and separate dining room, as well as the kitchen, with breakfast bar and all the cooking equipment required. Nice bedrooms, lovely bathroom and a nice garden too. Some milk in the fridge when we arrived was also most welcome.
Would have liked to stay 2 nights but we had other plans.
We had a great time! It had all we needed and was really big for us 4. Amanda was easy to reach as we arrived somewhat late. There was even a charging adapter, and the bathing facilities were wonderful, and everything was clean. The location was awesome, and we took a day to explore Strathpeffer and the surroundings. All in all, we had a great stay!
Nice and clean lodge, in the middle of the woods (so good to arrive with daylight). The cosy small town of Strathpeffer is closeby and there are plenty of beautiful hiking options in the area. When we had a problem with the heather, we only had to make a quick call to the owner to get it working again.
This place is amazing. It is a very unique concept, smart use of space, and a truly beautiful setting. We had everything we needed and loved every second of our stay. We travel a lot, and this place by far is my favorite of all hotels/vacation rentals.
Very spacious lodge, clean & tidy. You feel if your a million miles away in the middle of the forest amazing. Great for local walks & a great base for doing the NC500. We went to Skye, Durness, Applecross, John o groates, Nairn & loads more Brilliant
Really loved this hotel and enjoyed having our meal in the lounge area where they allowed our dog to stay with us. The food was lovely and the hotel was in a great location for touring the north of Scotland. I would stay here again.
Wonderful hotel in exceptional setting. It is set up to accommodate coach trips so would not suit everyone's taste. Good value accommodation and meals and the staff are friendly, helpful and cheerful. I will return.
I read some negative reviews after I had booked. Things have changed. The room was very clean, comfortable and warm in an annex behind the original hotel.
Don't be put off by out of date reviews.
Lovely upside down house with a great big garden for the dogs. Just 5 minutes down the hill to the main street in Strathpeffer. Nice views of the hills from the livingroom.
Booked due to location of an event we were attending. From the outside hotel looks great, ground floor and reception area very traditional and spacious.
