Executive room was not as shown on website and was not the best. Menu choice limited and expensive. So much so, we ate elsewhere the second night and paid for taxies. Guests lounge bar is outof the way and not very comfortable or nice.

Liked the original building, plenty of history. Very comfortable rooms, good range of facilities, friendly staff and good food. Although the original building was superb, i think allthe additional wings and extensions could be a little more inkeeping with the original as i feel the contrast between old and new was a bit too big!!

I thought the staff were extremely polite and helpfull. The rooms are beautifully furnished, confortable and the bathroom is modern and spacious. I had food in the restaurant in the evening and it was delicious. In the morning, at breakfast, everyone was attentive and smiling. Well done to all the staff who make guests feel very welcome indeed!

the leisure facilities were excellent according to booking.com check in was 14.00 hours, we arrived at 14.05 hours and told the room was not ready and to return in 40 minutes, we got told to go for a coffee at our expense £7.90 for 2 coffees, we eventually got our room key at 15.20 hours (waiting for 1 hour 15 minutes) i paid for an executive room and in my opinion my room was not what i would call an exec room (room 170)

Location was very close to where we needed to be The reception staff was always friendly and willing to help The hotel is located in a quiet location We were made to feel that we were in the way as there was a wedding party staying and they seemed to take over the hotel. It gives you the feeling that you are lesser guests because you are not with a business or other party of people. Most of the wedding party were being ignorant to the needs of others. My disabled partner who has mobility problems had to struggle / push through inconsiderate guests when they wouldn't make way for her. Room was a long way from reception At breakfast the eggs were like rubber with solid yokes, sausages only looked cooked on the side that faced the grill, the rest looked raw. The room was dark and needed all the lights to be put on just to be able to read. Having the radiator on to warm the room made a lot of noise which meant we couldn't have a warm room at night or have no sleep

Lovely staff, particularly Amy on reception. Room standards and spacious layout of hotel was excellent. Bars were relatively child friendly for a family group to relax in early to mid evening. Loved contemporary design and gardens. Spa and pool was clean and excellent quality. Pillows were uncomfortable in our executive room and the same thing was mentioned by my mother in law in her twin room. The executive room only had two pillows, which surprised us, with the exception of various shapes and sizes of cushions. The tea and coffee facilities in this room were mediocre...would have been nice to have a couple of nice biscuit packs and maybe a hot chocolate option. The pizzas in the bar were nice quality but £35 for three portions of chips and two pizzas was rather expensive.

It felt very grand - the entrance, driveway, lobby, the swish settees, the wide vestibule with conference rooms. But once I got to my room 249) I found it was equivalent to a travelodge (bed slightly inferior). It felt like I was simply paying a premium to be in a grotty room within a pleasant hotel.

well situated for exploring surrounding area. Bedrooms in an unattractive block, cold corridors, long way to walk to the leisure centre, pool being closed, having to ask for a second room key, an out of date activities guide in the room, the cost of breakfast

We enjoyed the excellent Spa facilities with it's very friendly and helpful staff and we were given a warm welcome on our arrival. We had a bar meal on the first nights stay however the food was just warm enough to eat and the fries were undercooked. We didn't complain at the time as we found the bar staff a little unfriendly and unapproachable.
