Staff was polite and responsive. Were readily available and responded immediately to any requests. Location is good. There is a small market close by to buy things like Water, Snacks, and plenty of restaurants too. There is also a Laundromat 5-10 mins (walk) away, and Iflord train station is another 5-10 minute walk with a Shopping Mall (The Exchange) opposite it. Clean bathroom with warm water. Breakfast was okay. Fresh and warm every morning but at a ridiculously early part of the morning (6:30 am - 8:30 am) - considering we were on holiday! The hallway was really dirty. Nothing smelled bad but the carpet was very dirty. The carpet in the room was so dirty that even after I vacuumed it (MYSELF), my 4 year old son's feet would literally get "black" after half an hours play on the floor. We had to wash his feet every half hour, or force him to keep his socks on, or play on the beds. I don't want to think about how dirty his clothes used to get. The TV had one channel for children and that only worked at some parts of the day. During the evening (6 pm onwards) it used to play a message that channel will resume in the morning. Given the condition of the room the price charged was way to high. It looked like it was designed for truck drivers who come in to spend the night and move on the next day. Not designed for families. No mini fridge in the room and the table and drawers were all broken and falling apart. Its a shame because the location was suitable for us as our friends were close by. We visit London at least twice a year and it was our first and last time at Cranbrook Hotel. I would say the room was worth 40 pounds a night and we paid 100 pounds per night for 5 nights. Such a waste of money.

After reading previous reviews I admit I was thinking all sorts on the room. We were looking for cheap clean accomadation for our night out. That's exactly what we got. The room was clean and presentable and the fact that you got a free breakfast was a added bonus.

When I arrived at the Cranbook the hotel car park was full so I paid £5.50 into a parking meter for the rest of the day only to go to reception and be told my room was in their sister hotel The Park so this is the hotel I have reviewed. The Park hotel manager was rude and abrupt, insisted on taking a photocopy of my driving licence and wanted a £20.00 deposit for the room key which was to be left at reception whenever you left the hotel. The hotel now has a copy of my driver’s license and credit card details so any day now I’m waiting for hertz to be on my doorstep demanding their car back! The room door was hanging off its hinges, next to no water came out of the shower, no headboard, the room stank and breakfast was abysmal!

I live in Northamptonshire and had taken part in a Scrabble tournament in Ilford at the weekend and did not want to drive back home late night so stayed overnight at the hotel. It was easy to find and parking was perfect. The Receptionist was very helpful and when I got to my room, I was very pleased. It was large, clean and airy. The bathroom was clean and the shower ideal. The television was well positioned and the bed very comfortable. I will definitely book here when I next need to and have recommened it to a 'scrabble' friend and would definitely do so to others in the future. Thank you Everything - just would have liked some decaffienated coffee but made do with the ordinary sachets which were plentiful in the room.

This is the second time I've stayed in this hotel,it is great value and in a great location only 5 min walk from the station,I was in central London within 30 mins. I highly recommend the cranbrook. The staff are extremely helpful and the rooms I had were roomy and comfortable. The only negative is that on some occasions I could smell cigarette smoke in the reception area although this never followed into my room.

The staff was very friendly and professional. Room was small but functional, and clean. Everyday we got new towels. Breakfast was good. The hotel is at 10 minutes walk from Ilford Train Station, and the district is suburban but clean and safe. Recommened for brief stay to visit London, and for business. Also, is very close to the new Olympic village located in Stratford, about 5 minutes by train! Trip to the central area of London may take from 20 to 30 minutes.
