Built in the early 1900s, this Victorian guest house combines old-world charm with modern conveniences such as free Wi-Fi and a bar.

This friendly, relaxing and elegant house is an easy walk from the historic city of Bath and has free off-street parking. Highways Guest House is a charming Victorian town house, built in 1874.

We loved everything about this hotel. The room was so pretty, so clean, so comfortable. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, pleasant and polite. The breakfast didn't let us down. Again. The dining room was so comfortable and clean and very elegant. The food was excellent, plenty of choice, nothing too much trouble. Loved our stay and will definitely return when next in Bath. Thank you Cranleigh.
Nothing at all
We enjoyed the intimacy of the guest house. Staying in a Victorian terrace house was lovely as it was beautifully renovated.
breakfast, comfy beds, tea and coffee faclities, space - and especially amazing bathroom in room 5!
Our room was lovely but tucked away behind the reception - would probably choose one on first or second floor next time.
Everything! Cannot fault this B&B. The staff, the room, the food, the facilities were all excellent. They have literally thought of everything you might need for your stay, and provided it. If staying in Bath again we won't bother even looking for anywhere else.
a little far from the city center but can take bus and taxi easier. very beautiful and nice room!!! I like it !!!! breakfast is also very nice! the holder also nice!!! good good good !!!!
The little extras like painkillers and plasters etc. and complementary afternoon tea, coffee and cake was a nice gesture. Very comfy bed. The building was lovely too.
Weren't very chatty on arrival
This has got to be one off the best guest/hotels that I have stayed in for attention to detail in making your stay a memorable one.from the moment of arrival to departure our needs were attended to by a super friendly owner. Well worth going back to Bath just to stay at the Cranleigh.
I could not find any fault
Four poster bed Excellent breakfast Friendliness of staff
Parking looked tricky in the small car park so I parked on the road. This proved okay.
A lovely place to stay. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The four poster bed room is massive, very well laid out and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was very good too.
We could hear the staff setting up for breakfast, although we appreciated that they were trying to keep as quiet as possible. Taxi into Bath ranged from £7.00 to £12.00; a big swing!
The style and cleanliness of the room was perfect. Vintage feel with modern facilities. We particularly liked the way in which the manager gave us a bottle of prosseco on ice and two glasses by way of an apology for a problem we encountered. High standard of customer service. The food was excellent value and amazing list of choices.
The shower and washbasin were apart. The wash basin was in a dark corner and there didn't seem to be any switch as a means of turning on the over mirror lighting.
What's not to like? It was a lovely comfortable hotel where nothing was too much trouble for anyone and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with well-stocked tea-making facilities in the room. Everywhere was lovely and clean and would recommend this hotel to everyone.
There was nothing to dislike.
Everything, can't rave enough. Incredibly helpful staff even though we arrived well past check in time. Gorgeous room with a lovely deep bath, space to move, fast wi-fi. DVDs to borrow if we didn't like what was on telly. Breakfast was delicious, tastier than other cooked breakfasts we had, it was a shame we were only staying one night.
Not a single thing.
Great room, nice breakfast, and the location was an easy walk (spouse may not agree) into Bath.
Location and choice of food
The other guest were noisy in room next door|
Beautiful room, nice view, 10mins to the centre by car, apparently 25mins walking, small car park or free on street subject to availability. Stayed so far in the (upgraded to) Superior Double on the ground floor overlooking the rear. Outstanding for the price and that's not meant to be a negative regarding the price! Very nice touch with the nice bottle of red on the side table with two wine glasses avilable if so desired. Sadly I left before breakfast but maybe next time.. I paid far more the following week for a room which was basically a student accommodation in a far less pleasant part of town.
Would have liked a desk but if not on business, maybe no issue. Still I got by sitting on the chaise long with my laptop on a side table! If I really have to nit pick.. Entry to the room via a small hallway had some materials stored behind a decorative screen. Also, the entry to the carpark is quite narrow and steep (but that probably means a space will be available if you can drive). My car is an Audi A8L and I reversed in from the road so most cars should fit. That's about all I could come up with. In fact, don't stay here - then I can book a room whenever I need one.
The hosts are polite and helpful, low-key professionals who know their job. It is clean, tasteful and well maintained. Really tasty and healthy breakfast with the best produce.
The location. Although the place and the view is nice, and the air is pure, it is rather far from Bath if you don't have a car. But if you do, it's great.
Pleasant and helpful owners and staff. Clean rooms and really good breakfasts.
No adequate parking. Having to climb 2 flights of stairs to the room.
Best breakfast ever - delicious
too many stairs
Very warm welcome. Room tastefully decorated with period furniture e.g. washbasin converted from antique washstand. Beautiful four poster bed. Splendid views across the wooded valley. Friendly, family run, atmosphere. Although the location is outside the centre of town, the bus routes were not far away. Superb breakfasts. Varied and interesting menu. We loved the the novelty tea pots!
Friendly hosts, good bus and taxi services, everything!
Our room was lovely, the greeting from our hosts warm & welcoming and the breakfast was fabulous. Would strongly recommend to others. Bus service runs frequently and shuttle service also available most mornings.
Great breakfast, quiet area, lovely for a romantic break, lots of charming detail. Also, the hosts offer complimentary rides into town in the morning and are members of a local organisation of independent businesses that offer discounts in various places.
No buses after 8pm mean you need a cab to get back from Bath centre if you don't have a car. However, as cabs are only marginally more expensive than the bus (for two people), that's not a problem.
After paying £97 per night I was told breakfast was an extra, it is a clean we'll run b&b but overpriced
Vintage Victorian style, very clean, well equipped
nothing, to speak of
Lovely luxurious room with period furniture. Panoramic view from the room. Careful attention to detail throughout. Breakfast was excellent. The owners could not have made us more welcome. Highly recommended.
