Staff Drive to the hotel
Flies in bedroom Mould in bathroom Previous guests clothes in wardrobe No veg sausages for breakfast
Reception staff very warm and welcoming. Very comfortable and very spacious classic double room. Breakfast buffet excellent assortment and tasty English breakfast. Staff again warm and pleasant. We went midweek, so quiet but pleasantly so. Beautiful peaceful views from our room. We considered it excellent value for money and will definitely stay again.
Bathroom beautiful with lovely accessories. However was let down by the very small shower head. Just seemed ineffective and totally out of proportion with the overall feel of space and comfort level. The shower is such an important personal ritual that is so disappointing when the shower facility does not live up to expectations.
Nice building in pretty grounds
Room too hot and couldn't open the window as invaded by wasps!
low tables only in lounge area
Overall, it is a delightful place. The staff were all lovely, (although the odd one was maybe a bit new to the job and kept forgetting things!). That didn't matter though, as very well intentioned. Unexpectedly, they had to downgrade our room, but reimbursed the difference, and put a bottle of fizz into our room as compensation. Dunno what we were downgraded from, as the room we had was delightful. I must have ordered the presidential suite in the first place!! All in all, a lovely hotel. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.
The staff were polite and nothing was too much trouble. They took the time to remember our names and what we were doing. The service was excellent. We requested a quiet room and it was exactly that.
surroundings, ambience,service breakfast
i can't fault
My party of 17 family members arrived mid afternoon without a restaurant reservation and the staff were fabulous! They set up our own table beautifully in a separate room and provided engaging helpful service throughout our stay!
I unfortunately sprained my ankle the day of my stay at crathorne hall, I didnt think it was that bad until the next day. Went I asked for help, the staff were very conscientious and attentive, it was very comforting.
Breakfast on the balcony was absolute bliss
Not too impressed with the food, and unfortunately their was a wedding at the same time, so when it came to breakfast we were waiting for an hour before we were served either food or drink.
Great rooms, service with a smile, food.
No cards at the bar. Poor beer and spirit choice.
Staff very helpful Lovely setting Very comfortable bed
Booked a double deluxe and was given an executive with no view
Beautiful property, great room wonderful setting. True four star hotel
Never received a reply to my email enquiring about secure parking.
Price of drinks... (not an alcoholic honest)
Nice grounds and staff were ok
Room was tiny
Beautiful setting and building and good size rooms. Staff were very friendly even if there are some training issues.
The fact that my credit card was declined as the Reservation/Reception staff entered the incorrect security number on two occasions. The Reservations staff had no record of my reservation through Booking.com and although Booking.com subsequently advised they had received the booking at the hotel, the staff clearly weren't aware where to find it. We were overcharged for drinks in the bar - the staff didn't ask for signatures and I was overcharged £58 which has subsequently been recredited to my card. There are clearly staff training issues here.
Excellent bed and bedroom, bathroom very clean
1. Good standard in bedroom generally. 2. Impressive looking hotel and grounds but soulless inside overall.
1. No bar, but waiter service for drinks. 2. Dripping shower head all night. 3. Maid had crammed day pillows & throw into wardrobe at night, ruining suit trousers trying to uncrease from long journey. Helpful! 4. Waiter asked if I woudn;t mind waiting '3 minutes' whilst he perhaps went for a smoke?? 5. Reception staff/experience not up to standard of elegance and smartness for hotel. 6. Overall, wouldn't rush back there & will try elsewhere if return to that area.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was comfortable. The location was very peaceful.
Very courteous and friendly staff, excellent standard of cleanliness and warmth.
Too many stairs, not really given enough detail at reception. Of the layout of the hotel so found it difficult finding certain facilities.
Friendly staff, lots of character, a nice change from corporate-style chain hotels
Room was a little tired and there was no gym (minor quibbles)
Staff were helpful
I had made a group booking for the night before my wedding (to be held at a different hotel). That afternoon, the hotel called to say they had overbooked and the only room for myself was a single. I then had a function room to get ready in the following morning. I was extremely disappointed but what choice did I have with such short notice??
