Beautiful hotel, helpful and friendly staff, good food, lovely room and view. Not too far from home for an overnight stay to make a short break combining a shopping trip. Previously had a daughters wedding here. Bedding smelt fusty although very clean and comfortable, think the duvet had been damp and feathers been wet and not dried properly. Dining room and bar were chilly.

Location, nice setting. Helpfull/attentive attitude of staff, good quality food/service provided. Based on past experience we had requested a quiet room; not adjacent to fire doors, stairways or the lift. We arrived on Friday afternoon to discover a wedding party in full flow. No mention of that prior to booking or on arrival for that matter, indeed the staff assumed we were attending the happy event! We explained that we were not and the porter kindly suggested we get to breakfast nice and early the next day to avoid the rush! And then there was the room; 3 floors up, perched right above the wedding party, we arrived to discover the room was adjacent to a set of fire doors, opposite the stairs and on top of a lift shaft! Reluctant to complain we endured the disco/live band until the early hours. I drew some comfort the next morning when I was told that there was no wedding that day, although with some pride, I was informed that normally they would host 3 or 4 weddings a week!!

Such a beautiful place with the nicest feel to it. Very peacefull and great for the kids to explore. The food was pretty average fir such an awesone place.

Quiet location, friendly staff, lovely big airy room and the ability to open the windows and a calm and peaceful atmosphere. As in many hotels the plug sockets did not line up with things like hair drying and mirrors neither was the tea and coffee tray anywhere near a socket and there was an opened packet of biscuits on our tray for the whole of our stay.

We would like to thank all the staff who made this a wonderful stay. Our room was great and the food fantastic, couldn't have asked for more. Definitely a 5* plus hotel.
