One of our meals was poor in the restaurant. We did tell the waiter and when it came to paying the manager was making a point that he hadn't been called to see the food at the time. I didn't like his attitude and felt it unprofessional to discuss a problem with the bill and food infront of customers in the bar area
Staff unhelpful We got ignored Service was terrible Room uncomfortable
The lady Eva at the reception is very friendly and decor is fantastic
The bed is too small and the air condition is bad can't sleep all night
Lovely place and amazing food
Had the loft room with very steep stairs. Room was very hot also despite an air conditioning unit.
Room very very small
this is truly a hotel that has left its mark on us both. everything from the moment we arrived had a wow factor, this was our second visit and certainly not our last.
The weather however we understand that not even the black bear can organise this
Food Good - Staff Helpful
Having to stay in a room away from the main hotel building. Its a bit too 'Quirky'
Fun and funky décor Perfect for a romantic break
The room I was allocated was above the kitchen, and therefore room temp was around 30 degrees. The hotel were unable to provide me with an air-con unit as it was being used elsewhere. Left the window open but diners below smoking wafted into room
ambience, atmosphere, general quirkyness..
very pricey. not everyone could afford theses prices.
Lovely decor throughout and staff so attentive.
Room was far too small. Although we had the less expensive room and the decor was lovely my daughters bedroom at home is bigger! Bit claustrophobic.
Eclectic style, very comfy bed, relaxed atmosphere.
No tea and coffee facilities in the room and no-one answered room service first thing in the morning. Not enough toiletries in the room.
Friendly staff Comfy bed
Old decor and broken mirror and stained carpets Room was far too hot and small No tea and coffee in rooms No soap in bathroom Club music loud until midnight No fridge in room Continental breakfast not great - ran out of pastries even though we pre-ordered them
Everything... Service was outstanding & we were made to feel very welcome.
The whole experience was amazing. The food and drink was excellent and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.
Check in - lost keys Bar - far too long to get drink Dinner - items missed from order.Uncomfortable 24 hour concierge - didn't answer Breakfast - incompetent, expensive Check out. Incompetent I wrote to the hotel in detail on two occasions but they have never replied. Really disappointing stay.
Was local for our trip to La Manoir
For the price I did not expect holes in the curtains and felt the room was quite small. Cooked breakfast was extra and the whole place looked "tired". Think they rely on their name to charge those prices and would think twice about staying there again.
It's just The Crazy Bear and you have to visit! Quirky, two great restaurants to choose from, extensive cocktail and wine list and lovely cosy fire. Proper country feel to it.
Our room directly over the bar was tiny, the bed was not long enough (I imagine it was made to fit the room) even though it stretched from one end of the room to the other and my partner had to climb over me to get to the bathroom. Not what we expected for £180 a night. Would still definitely stay again though - because it's the Crazy Bear! Different room next time!
I loved the quirky design, and everything created a talking point...the food was good and the staff really helpful
The price....the decor is looking tired, the paint needs retouching, the carpets were worn and everything looked abit shabby....if everything was shiny and new, the price would have been okay. however there were also Slug trails over the carpet at breakfast, and only continental breakfast included .
We loved the clay piegeon shooting grounds and the farm and shop
didnt like waiting for a hour to get our cocktails TWICE.
The Thai restaurant food was great and they also have great cocktails
