Score from 820 reviews Good
This historic building was once visited by Charles Dickens for his public readings. It offers a Dickens-themed restaurant, light, modern rooms with private bathrooms, and a themed bar.
Score from 431 reviews Good
Five minutes from junction 12 of the M4, the Bath Hotel is one mile from Reading town centre. Rooms all have en suite bathrooms and there is free parking.
Score from 367 reviews Good
With a superb central location, 2 minutes' walk from Reading Railway Station and the pubs on Friar Street, the hotel offers clean, comfortable rooms with air cooling.
Score from 971 reviews Very good
The location, the staff, breakfast, .room.
The fact that I paid in cash and hotel have debited my card as well. Now trying to obtain refund.
Overall Cleanliness. Sink blocked in room
Location is very convenient for central Reading. Clean.
This hotel is very dated. Its very basic. Unfortunately its tired decor makes it feel dirty but it is very clean.
My Staff reported back that they would not use this hotel again, the Hotel lacks Comfort and is dirty. We will not be using again
Staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking and good internet.
Breakfast table clothes were dirty. The bed was in need of replacing due to sagging as did the pillows. Made sleeping uncomfortable.
I would request to all that please don't book this hotel. Its even not a hotel. Staff is really rude, arrogant and non co-operative. Breakfast is really S...., i can't say its breakfast. no facilities, no heating, beads are really uncomfortable, if you have language no help and no elevator. One week staying experience was more then worst. I shifted to another hotel to extend my staying in Reading. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Horrible beds, puny room no space in the bathroom
Didn't like anything.work away from home and stayed many places.this place grubby bedding/towels.no hot water half of time.smelled musty, but only place that had vacancies and needed somewhere to stay-but never again.
This is not luxury hotel, but the price they charge it is excellent.
Sharing bathroom, but that was my choice as room cost just £36.00.Can not ask for more for this price.
Web site did not give a true picture of the hotel. So disappointed with the place that after booking in and seeing the room we left and booked in elsewhere.
everything else I wish I'd read the previous reviews, I'd have been better off sleeping in the van.
Good parking facilities and ok for a stop over
Rubbish pillows non available so recommend you take your own, did ask reception for another but non available
overall lack of cleanliness and in dire need of renovation
Wi-Fi connection it was very good
The smell, the shared bathroom and the shower
Staff were friendly and helpful. Seemed to try hard to please.
General condition of the hotel was poor.
The TV in the room wasn't working.
Staff were very helpful and I had a really nice breakfast.
The reception counter. It was old and tatty and gave a bad initial impression of the rest of the hotel, which was pleasant and entirely adequate.
Reception staff made personal remarks, very unprofessional. Whole place dark and dingy. The breakfast room in the basement was so depressing we skipped breakfast even though we had paid for it. Outdated, dingy, grubby, depressing place. Overpriced.
Location of hotel
Member of staff shouted at me after I informed I had a hearing problem, made me feel stupid. Shocked at how tatty the room was. Could not get heating on could not close the one small window. To top it all door did not close properly so a guy came in by mistake as on my own at the time little worried. WORST bit when we tried to tidy the bottom sheet up saw two very disgusting stains on the mattress cover. Did not want to even go near the bed it was too late get hold of the staff did not want to eat there, Never again!
It was worth only 25-30 gbp where we ended up Paying 75. Horroble property and services
Location was good for us to visit Spire Dunedun hotel. We could also walk into town. Car parking was easy. We were given a room with an extra single bed which made it fairly spacious. The tea and coffee was generous.
Double bed against a wall is never ideal. En suite bathroom very small shower minimum size. Room so narrow and basin so small trying to shave was extremely difficult.
Value for money not that good.
Quiet location and we could all stay in one room
Wish there was a bath in our room
