Cressfield Country House Hotel  

The staff were excellent. Friendly, helpful and attendant.

The wasn't a relaxing area. ie easy chairs to chill, have a coffee and read a paper.

The staff was excellent. Service was outstanding they even changed a flat car tire for us. The dinner was great infact it was too much

The hotel is just off the motorway but our room was absolutely quiet.The manager and staff are welcoming and efficient and we have stayed at the hotel four times.The menu covers a wide range of meals which can be served in the bar or in the magnificent dining-room.

Very conveniently located for the motorway - we were heading south, and the hotel was barely a mile from the junction. The young couple managing the hotel were helpful and friendly and eager to please. The breakfast was excellent and we were able to negotiate a lie in in the morning. The room was clean and spacious and everything worked.

There were few facilities in the locality so not a lot to do in the evening and the hotel overlooked a caravan park - which was a shame because otherwise, the outlook was beautiful countryside. The address on the website was confusing and inaccurate and therefore the hotel was difficult to find. There was no obvious reception area for dealing with staff on arrival and departure - the large public bar was used for this and therefore there was no privacy or confidentiality. I felt the hotel had a lot of potential (beautiful large rooms with high ceilings) but needed to be updated for the potential to be fully realised.

We waren met 6 personen en 3 oldtimers citroen traksjons op 10 daagse reis door zuid Schotland en hadden een grotere kamer gekregen dan geboekt, en s`avonds in het hotel heerlijk gegeten. S`morgens een heerlijk schots ontbijt zodat we onze reis uitgerust en volle maag naar Edinburgh konden voortzetten. Zeker een aanrader voor reizigers die via Lockerbie een tussen stop willen maken.

Badkamer kon wat gemoderniseerd worden maar functioneerde goed.

Spitzenklasse. So hab ich mir ein schottisches Landhotel vorgestellt.

Only stayed one night, travelling on elsewhere, couldn't really fault it. Staff friendly, room clean & comfortable. Food was good, fresh & tasty.

I was extremely impressed by the quality, service and friendliness of this small hotel. I was given a room upgrade from a standard to deluxe room which was fantastic, clean, quiet and well equipped. I will have no hesitation in booking here again.
