Crestfield Hotel2-4 Crestfield Street, Bloomsbury, WC1H 8AT London (Show map) Good, Score from 1913 reviews“The staff at Crestfield were absolutely friendly and helpful. The room was small as are all London hotels that are affordable, but I didn't mind it at all. The best part of staying at the Crestfield Hotel is the location.”

Studio City

The location is convenient - only a few steps to King's Cross/ St Pancras which means that one can reach the main attractions in town quite quickly. The adjacent area is not very nice though and there are not many restaurants other than the usual fast food chains. Employees were friendly, could tell me the way to the closest area with restaurants but were sometimes not very proactive: For example, there was a false fire alarm one day and the woman at the reception did not give any explanation so people standing in the "lobby" had to make up their own mind whether to go back to their rooms. The room was way below any standard and quite depressing; not even especially dirty but old and very worn out, eg colour coming off from the walls, an old carpet, etc. The furniture consists of camp style beds, a small open shed, an old table with a chair and and a stool for a suitcase. Toilet and shower are on the same level causing floods every time you take a shower. There are not many places to store things in the bathroom. The remote control for the tv was crusty. I could go on but I think readers get the picture: this hotel is not value for money (I paid 100 - 90 gbp per night), not even for London and I think you are better off booking a room in a modern youth hostel.

I stayed at the hotel with my family for 5 nights to explore London. It was a pleasant experience adn I was very happy with it. It was close to the Eurostar and Underground Kings Cross/ St Pancras with plently of shops and restaurants close by the hotel had been recently painted and presented well with tidy rooms and environs. The bathroom was small but adequate and clean. The included breakfast was typical of uk BnB's and very well presented and good quantity'S. There are many other hotels of this typ along the same street of varying quality and I would say that this one presented very well compared to the others. We had a back room which was quiet on the 1st floor. I would stay there again. The beds were seemingly new and comfortablew with good bedding. The only bad point is they are metal frames and several pof the leg support braces had snapped at the weld and made them a little unstable, bu this is a minor point for crrection. Overall I was glad I stayed there adn enjoyed the location for sightseeing and gong to the theatre after spending time in Paris. We caught the eurostar to London and was the reason why we chose this area and this hotel.

The staff was the friendliest I'd come across on my trip, and I felt very welcomed there. I'd just come from a hotel down the street for the same price that was grungy, had broken handles on the furniture and scum on the showerhead, and was very noisy. To get to this room I had to go up a few flights of stairs, but I arrived to find my room was very clean and bright, and very cheery. Also, the bed was so comfortable. I was traveling alone and all they had left was a double, so I can't speak for the single rooms but the double was very cute and clean. There was coffee and tea service in the room so I immediately made myself some tea and sat back!! The location was superb, 2 min. Walk from King's Cross Station, 4 min. Walk from the British Library, 15 min. Walk from the British Museum. Shopping on Oxford St. Was about a mile away. There were small grocery stores and fast food restaurants all around. The great thing about it is it's far enough away from the busy streets that it's quiet. If you're looking for clean, comfortable and convenient and don't mind paying around 75 gbp for a double, (which is only a little more than I paid at the other budget hotels in the area, and the same price for the dumpy one) then I can highly recommend this hotel to you. I wish I'd found it sooner in my trip, and I'll be sure to stay there next time I visit London. There was no lift, but in the budget hotels around that area this was common. I only had to haul my luggage up and back down once so it wasn't a big deal to me. If it's too difficult to haul your luggage up you can just take what you need and leave it in their luggage room where it will be safe. It was a great little hotel...I Was happy there.

Great location, round the corner from King's Cross underground. Everything is neat, and it seems the owners are doing their best to rennovate the hotel. Excellent free wi-fi in the room! More than 50 tv channels, tea/coffee supplies. There is even a bar which I didn't try, but some people can find it handy. Despite some minor inconviniencies, the general impression of the hotel is very positive. At first, they gave me a room in the basement, which was noisy (heard every step on the floor above and youngsters sitting on the porch next to my window) and rather cold. When I complained, as I was staying 2 weeks and needed some comfort and good rest, they offered a double room facing the patio, which was comfortable and quiet. The only disadvantage was the lack of chest of drawers to put things in and tiny shower in which you can't move.

It's basic but clean and warm, the location is really good, just few steps away from kings cross. Our room is in near the garden, so we must close the window all the time. And we can hear the nosiy from the kitchen to prepare the breakfast from 3 A.M. The sink is blocked & too much noisy

The staff were very kind and polite. I'm guessing they all were from the Ukraine, Estonia, or from a Slavic country. The hotel location is absolutely ideal for a tourist in London, right next to Kings Cross underground. The room it self was exactly what was described by others on the Internet.....basic room for a good price. The breakfast was cereal, fruit, toast, boiled eggs, milk, tea, coffee, or fruit juice. My wife and I would stay there again.

The hotel room with ensuite was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. We had a triple room which was fine for the two of us. It is very close to St Pancras station so was perfect for an early start.

The location was convenient very close to St. Pancras Station and Kings Cross. The terrace was nice and the bed was confortable and clean. My daughter and I were in one of the 4 very small rooms in the basement. It smelled humid, the (shared) bathroom was very dark and small, had a very low ceiling and was not very clean.

Location. During my two stays here I got a room in the basement which means it was dark, with the window overlooking cramp door. The common bathroom is actually a kind of wet room with a toilet on the same level as the shower which is not my idea of a hygiene. The furniture is worn although you can`t say it`s dirty here. Very narrow and steep staircase. The tv didn`t work properly often showing a set of coloured squares instead of the image. I didn`t have a chance to have breakfast because I was leaving early, I wasn`t offered anything instead. For the money you pay you can find something better in this area.

Very friendly staff. Nice and welcoming - very much enjoyed. Basic but clean and very convenient location for Eurostar. Although a budget hotel, it looks (starting from the outside) that it is being looked after and it feels welcoming. The lower ground rooms feel a bit clostrophobic with little space and limited light from small window - but perfect for a short stay if you are just looking for a decent bed to sleep in without spending a lot of time in your room.

We liked the cleanliness, location and the way the reseption staff helped the guests in a friendly manner. We did not like the relatibely early termination of the breakfast, and we particularly disliked the way the breakfast staff treated the persons who came around the closing time. (Noit us, we came in due time). T>he staff was then undfriendly and almost chaesed people away from 10 minutes beforde closing tim E.

The bed linen was clean. The location was good for the Eurostar and mother main line stations. The bathroom was very grubby and the wash basin very small and old. We did not use the shower as it looked dirty and very old The bathroom needs replacing. The shelf in the bedroom was broken and falling off the wall. The towels although clean were very thin. No bedside light either. The breakfast room is too small for the number of guests

The room was basic, but was clean and comfortable, ideal for us as a base to explore London as the Underground is less than 100 metres away. The staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel has recently been re- painted, and seems to be maintained to a good standard. The continental breakfast is fine to get you going in the morning, with a selection of juices, cereals, toast, jam, cheese and cold meat slices and coffee or tea. If you have a room at the top like we did, be prepared for 50 stairs! Gets you fit. Overall no complaints, and excellent value for money, would recommend it as a base to see London

Most, I enjoyed quality of the breakfast and stuff friendliness as well.Room was extremely clean and quiet but small. The room was quite small but with all necessary appliances equipped. It was a best choice for a budget hotel near the most important sightseeings in London. Practically, you are connected with all the city sites through St Pancreas and King Cross station which are only 3 minutes away from hotel.Use a Oyster card to travel as cheap as the London transport allows to do so, otherwise you will pay double or treble.

Location to Kings Cross Station was excellent. Free breakfast was amazing, better then most that I have paid for. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was small but perfectly adequate. Bed was clean and very comfortable with extra pillows which is always a plus. Shared bathroom was small but certainly all that was required for showering. Plenty of tv channels to choose from and good reception. Bonus that the window in the room could actually be opened. Good value for money for the ease of using the Kings Cross Station and being in London, but still feel that all London Hotels are a bit pricey. Size of the room could be a problem for some if staying more then two days and sharing.

We needed a hotel near St Pancras for an early start the next morning. The Crestfield Hotel fitted the bill admirably. The staff were very helpful and the continental breakfast well organised. Rooms were clean and comfortable. All in all a very satisfactory experience The only thing that could be improved would be if there was a lift as the stairs were very steep.

hotel is in a fantastic location, just across the street from Kings Cross/ St Pancras station, easy to find many shops and restaurants near by. reception staff were friendly and welcoming, as was the little scotty dog that wanders around the hotel!! room was clean enough. The corridor leading to our room and the shared bathroom smelt horrible! The room itself was ok however. The shower was very unappealing, shower had no basin and shared the floor with the toilet, yuck! We didnt want to use it at all. Breakfast was not great, tea was watery and toast was made with stale bread or reheated. Good choice of cereal if you into that kind of thing. Cant complain too much as it was included in the price (which was very cheap)

The whole trip was made very easy and straightforward - helpful and friendly staff at reception, clean room with good facilities, perfect location and a generally very pleasant place to stay in. The bathroom was slightly dated, but for the price it was more than adequate!

Crestfield is an absolutely nice hotel in the middle of the city. It worth its price, I would go there again. Our room was upgraded. I booked a room with a shared bathroom and we got a room with its own bathroom. The rooms are very small but if you are on sightseeing all day, it is not a problem.
