Great stay, friendly staff.
Huge room and bathroom and bed. Very quiet and good value
Main building Pool Gym Cleanliness rooms Space in the rooms
Reastaurant was not special enough for a special occasion Very pricey for quality food New part accomodation To modern not in keeping with house
Nice old building.
Really a conference venue. Awful coffee.
Here for a wedding, facilities and staff were great
Liked friendly ness of the staff and the picturesk views
The hall and setting are out of this world and therefore for very special occasions it is perfect.
However, events like weddings need the service of hotels, where information to and service for all guests inparticular with regard to:eating, drinking and being directed around the vast hall needs to be as good as the location suggests. Only that small part let it down.
Air conditioning was dreadful. Our room was 30 degrees all night!! We were provided with a fan after complaining which had a thermometer on it!! We wee there to prepare for a qualifing round at Crewe GC Not the best night prior to this by any means!!
Amazing architecture and lovely room. All very comfortable and has everything you need.
Loud hen parties swearing and screaming in the restaurant meant it was difficult to have a nice romantic meal...
The room was good, but had to sleep three people in one bed, after changing from a dirty room. Not the expected quality for the high price paid.
I like the mix of old, traditional style and new, modern rooms. You get the grandeur of a historic manor house with the comfort of modern conveniences.
Location. History. Dinner staff. Comfortable bed.
Non-working lamps in bedroom. Breakfast coffee. Scrambled eggs. Breakfast staff.
Staff were extremely helpful including a tour of the special historic rooms. Food good, leisure facilities excellent. Easy parking. Definitely a place to return.
Thought I was staying in old hall, turned out to be newly built and not that special....
Friendly and helpful staff. Good bathroom with high standard of cleanliness.Well presented and tasty food at dinner
Poor quality of coffee at breakfast. One cup of filter coffee would be preferable to copious amounts from a machine.
The old building
The restaurant - poor quality food
rooms and restaurant in modern part felt like a school or conference center. No atmosphere. Food was mediocre and breakfasts barely passable.
Excellent room but B&B over £100!
room & bathroom space swimming pool & poolside facilities
Disappointing breakfast selection & layout; inability to clear up room service "empties" in corridors
Helpful, friendly staff. Good WiFi Location/ grounds are beautiful. Good food and service in the Brasserie
No warning that accommodation booked online was not in fact in the building shown online but in a bog standard building to the side. The lift in our block was NOT well sited- had a very long trek to our room from it. Room 4139 oppressively hot - avoid in warm weather!
Poor staff service throughout
Good tranquil setting with excellent spa facilities.
Unmade bed upon arrival. Bathroom door that couldn't be closed. Faulty shower control. Toilet brush holder hanging off wall by rawlplugs.
Lovely venue, beautiful building. Our room was very comfortable and well designed and met all our needs. Food and staff excellent.
Food. Dinner was excellent all three nights. Different selection from the menu each time. Plenty for breakfast if you so choose.
Some minor aspects of housekeeping. Plus the duvet is only the same size as the bed - looks nice when freshly made, but get two people in it and there isn't enough duvet to go round. Finally, the grounds are nice, but look a bit unkempt at the moment.
This is a really fascinating hotel , the restaurant is high level , the quietness is complete.
