Score from 170 reviews Very good
Lots of facilities to choose from nice comfy bed massages were very good spa was very relaxing Had a lovely lunch in brassier great scenery and walks to go on
Drink a bit expensive sandwiches in winter garden all a bit too fancy
Food and service, choice, good.
Large hotel, long corridors lots of walking for disabled, but we would come again with a room nearer the facilities.
The facilities, location, food. Everything!
Various different activities Victorian spa Various eating areas Outdoor space Good room sizes Friendly staff Food I could eat was lovely
Parking quite abit away from main reception area Mix up with room price on arrival More choice on menus for eating, struggled to find a meal I could eat
Great resort for those who are looking for relax and have things to do. The resort has more than 60 different activities for all ages so both the adults and children can enjoy their time with their favourite activities. U can choose to stay in hotel room or cottage in the green area. The hotel was built in 1868. I highly recommend it for travellers.
The room price was a bit high.
The hotel itself was really nice, though without an offer I wouldn't say value for money was particularly good.
The room was very comfortable with great views. Staff were helpful.
The need to book Spa treatments in advance of arriving. I was unable to get any treatments and the Spa was one of the main reasons I chose this Hotel.
Not enough child free areas.
The helpful friendly staff. My mum to be massage was excelkent and the food lovely.
The numerous other guests who were constantly complaining, bore off!
The beautiful grounds Activities The staff in the Brasserie The food and drink in the Brasserie
Cleanliness in the Meikle Restaurant Building looking tired and dated Dirty cups at breakfast Poor quality of breakfast (sausages, dried out mushrooms) Reception staff not very helpful when checking considering this was our first visit I could go on
Location facilities staff
Cobwebs in room,tv didn't work, fold down bed uncomfortable
Virtually everything it would be very difficult to be critical of this super venue. We will be back. Cost is always an issue and some of the experiences seemed just a little expensive, however they were well run & safe which is paramount.
The only point I had to raise during our visit was the temperature of the food at breakfast. It was a pity to have such a great selection soiled with the food being cool.
The location is excellent and the numerous facilities for children is great. Free WiFi
No atmosphere, very 3 star in the lobby Breakfast mediocre
It was wonderful to see multi-generational families enjoying their holiday together--absolutely fabulous for young children and young minded parents and grandparents. Food was good not great but the resort and activities certainly made up for the non gourmet food.
The hotel was great and our room was lovely, bathroom very nice, great deep bath and shower, lovely products and excellent room service. Swimming pool, sauna and stream room were great. Grounds v nice - activities were pricey for our budget - but good fun. Afternoon tea in the Winter Gardens were a real treat, my daughter enjoyed the Hub activities. We'd definitely consider coming back again - a really relaxing break.
Crieff town is a bit run down, not much to see. A couple of alternative cheaper eating options in the evening would have been good for us.
Loads to do Friendly staff Comfortable
We loved our room, the tasteful decor and the comfy bed. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a pleasant buzz about the place. We wished we had been staying longer.
My only negative point is purely personal. I enjoy granola for breakfast and it was not to be had. But I survived!
Surroundings, atmosphere, food, great for kids, plenty activities, family friendly, something for every one, would highly recommend!
No air condition windows were open day/night wasps coming in
Help and assistance from manager Gillian who made our stay a success.
Our room in the Leigh Building opposite the main hotel was very nice indeed and gave us our own private parking place. The hotel and grounds were vast providing a huge number of activities for children and adults alike. Despite reading some fairly negative reviews on the breakfast, I found it a very pleasant experience and we are hoping to return asap.
Totally outwith the control of the hotel but the inclement weather on the day restricted the number of activities available. We stayed during the night of the Commonwealth Closing Ceremony and a small get together was arranged in the Hub Area. The "Hub" is very small and I thought an opportunity to organize a large celebration/party in one of the larger halls was missed.
Staff, who were incredibly well trained and attentive standards of the hotel were fantastic loved the daily activity sheet entertainment in the evening was great , and most of all the food was AMAZING
the floor on the 2nd floor had a definite slope and found it made me feel as if when sleeping I was rolling off the bed could be an optical illusion, but if booking again would ask to be on a ground floor room
We had a great room ,executive suite, great value. Was a great quite room. Real luxury .
The hotel reception and staff were really nice. The swimming pool and other facilities in the hotel were great.
The receptionist failed to tell us that our B&B basis for our family room was only for adults and our child (6 years old) would be charged an £22.50 per day for breakfast!! The manager was good and managed to take this off our bill. I wasn't prepared to pay £45 for 2 bacon rolls and was shocked to see it on our bill. The family room was small and extremely stuffy... we really struggled to sleep in the heat of the room. The window hardly opened. We all slept really badly. The restaurants were ok. The menu was good for adults but mediocre for children. I thought there would have been a better choice of 'normal' food for kids. The breakfast wasn't amazing either, we were quite disappointed actually. It was very basic. All in all, it was very expensive for nothing that special and we would never go back!
Our self catering lodge was great, clean, well equiped and in a quiet area of the grounds with only a short walk to the main hotel. Plenty of activities for our children age 5 and 7 and activities for the whole family to do together.
Gardeners cutting the grass outside our window at 7am one morning. Map of site given to us on arrival wasnt great, not really drawn to scale and would have been good if it showed some of the walking paths. Very minor things though and didnt effect our overall enjoyment of our holiday.
Hotel and scenery Johan, Greenock
cool breakfast. Room like a sauna with no fan shower that did not work Johan, Greenock
