On arrival at Crieff Hydro we experienced an atmosphere of relaxation with very welcoming and helpful reception staff, tasteful decor and excellent facilities. This stress free atmosphere was enjoyed throughout our short break. Our only complaint of Crieff Hydro is that all activities, except for the general swimming pool, can be only be undertaken at additional cost .... which in most cases are definitely over priced; i.e. the Victorian Spa is a lovely facility, but I consider the additional feed to use the Spa is somewhat galling. Is the £1 fee per person for a game of putting really necessary ..... trivial cost, but the the principal of paying for an activity which I have enjoyed for free at similar hotels (Peebles Hydro) is a valid point. Yes, I would recommend a stay a Crieff Hydro, without hesitation, but be prepared to spend.

My new husband and I had a wonderful stay in Crieff Hydro. Staff were excellent, so friendly and very helpful. The food was of a very high quality - which I really wasn't expected and the rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean.

Edwardian grandieur with modern facilities coupled with the widest range of on and off site activities situated in one of the most beautiful locations in Europe. Unfortunately we coincided our stay with what must have been a post Christams family special rate - 'wall to wall weans!' Prams and push chairs a-go-go. Check before you book.

Location is excellent and there is a lot of facilities We wanted a romantic weekend and unfortunately, the hotel was filled with families with lots of kids. I just wish the hotel advised that it was more of a family orientated place.

We had a very enjoyable visit - as the children were very happy so were we! The only complaint was that our stay was too short. The staff were very welcoming and were a credit to you with their smiling faces and excellent service. Definitely hope to return in the near future.

We enjoy the ambiance of the hotel & its surroundings. Perthshire is a lovely county epitomised by the Hydro. The staff are very good and the rooms are excellent. Food & bars very good. My wife's sirloin steak was of poor quality but this was a minor setback & was dealt with efficiently by the restraunt staff.

It's a very family friendly place which makes it great for big family visits. Common areas are newly refurbished and very nice. Some rooms are crying for. We had a particularly bad experience with a mattress which ruined one of my two sleeps. When we complained, we where upgraded which was nice of them. I still think that these rooms should be looked at as soon as possible.

Very child friendly. We have a 4 month old baby and at no time felt like a hinderence to staff or fellow guests. Staff were very helpful and porter service is ideal when travelling with everything but the kitchen sink for the little one! Breakfast was excellant and facilities were more than adequate when travelling with a young family

Magnificent building, wonderful public rooms, really warm and bright corridors and bedroom, real character throughout, the most beautiful and extensive car par area I've ever seen, and the best meal scheduling ever, with all-day Breakfast-in-Bed if you want.

The facilities and activities were fabulous, staff friendly and helpfull and families well catered for I was disappointed with the room, it hadn't been dusted in a while and the sheets on the beds were ripped. I was disappointed that the soft play only opened in the afternoo and at the same time as the kids hour in the pool. An hour or so in the morning would have been good.

Everything came up to a high standard and met our expectations. We would certainly consider a longer stay next time in order to use more of the facilities available. It was a most relaxing experience. Absolutely nothing.

Staff were very friendly. Room that we got was supposed to be a up market room we thought this was not the case as window was hard to open / close and a rope hanging from the top to operate not very safe! for a family room. The breakfast plates were cold and by the time you started to eat all items were cold. Thats what we did not like!

I think the facilities on offer are very good for the price of the rooms. Although the original mattress in the room had seen better days, it was replaced (with a very good one) straight away on request. The buffet breakfast was very good and I particularly liked the family atmosphere (hotels solely full of people on business can be very dull). The decor in my room was a little dated (in contrast to the good new ensuite shower room) and the television very small and high up. I opted for a single room, as there was no option for a resonably-priced double room for single occupancy, which I would normally opt for, and the room was small. I thought the food in the evening was mediocre for the price, although I only ate in on one night.

As a base. The hotel is beautiful - however I think the staff need more training on customer care. We had an issue that required the attention of the duty manager to authorise a service to be delivered that we missed. Staff should be able to do this themselves so as not to cause delays and meet immediate customer satisfaction. Breakfast was chaotic and staff in a frenzy.

Lovely countryside location which is easily accessed by car from both Scotland's main cities (Glasgow and Edinburgh). Staff very friendly. I think the beauty treatments were vastly over-priced.
