Very comfortable and tastefully decorated, and immaculate standard of housekeeping.
Food absolutely excellent. Lunchtime snacks good value.
Location and facilities friendly staff
Room location (between 2 lifts rm 239) noisy late evening guests using lifts, reported situation to management on leaving hotel
I found the staff were always helpful at all times and they made my birthday feel magical. My son and I found the facilities amazing and we certainly had a wonderful break, so much so that we didn't want to return home. Thank you.
I found the food reasonably ok although given the formal evening wear required for the Meikle hotel, I didn't find the quality of the food up to the same standard. I was very disappointed. This maybe because I am a chef by trade.
I liked the everything as i walked into the hotel from the polite reception staff to barman and waiters. The food was some of the best i have had in a hotel throughout the world.
Nothing to add in this box.
-Lots to do - Something for everyone -Lovely Location -Staff very friendly
-The italian restaurant is horrendous - Worse than pizza hut -Hotel slightly dated, the carpets etc could do with a revamp in the corridors
The facilities and food were very good. Service good. Staff helpful - only once didn't follow up as requested. Friendly staff.
The costs of doing everything were too steep. Adult access to the Victorian Spa pool etc should be included. £48 for 2 to do many activities and even more for the Quad bikes etc is far too much when you have a captive audience already. Need to be able to take more than 4 at a time to Shooting / archery etc. Food too expensive.
Location and facilities
Boiler broke down and no hot water only there for one night so disappointing- felt that an extra £7 to pay for Victorian spa wasn't worth it
Friendly staff, room was nice and the evening meal was good too
Way too many children around. I certainly don't dislike children but they were absolutely everywhere you turned, you couldn't escape them (except for the Victorian Spa, but you have to pay for using that, even if you are a resident...that's a bit tight in my opinion)
Hotel is absolutely gorgeous and staff were always very friendly and welcoming.my boyfriend proposed while we were away which means we will definitely stay again. breakfast buffet was amazing and also had a great selection of cereals and yoghurt. Our room was spotless, massive bath/shower,nice and cosy and the bed was unreal so comfortable and massive.
I didn't feel there was enough entertainment at night for younger couples.a pub/bar playing music would of been perfect after a busy day of sightseeing and shopping.our room was smaller than what I expected however we didn't mind as it was spotless, cosy and a lovely view
the accommodation was incredible. We were staying in Leigh 536
The pillows could have been a better quality.
Good hotel facilities: hotel, restaurants, activities for kids, pool Our stay was too short to be able to enjoy everything.
The crowd...very busy time. Felt under pressure to book a restaurant, queued for breakfast, tennis courts fully booked, swimming pool over packed and car parks full!
The treatments in the spa.
Room was small and toilet too high of the ground (neither my sister or I could touch the floor!) First impression was Butlins holiday camp! This was to be a quiet relaxing break. But full of noise kids.
Reception area and restaurants
The carpetted area outwith reception showing age along with sloping floors giving impression of dated property past its best.
The accommodation and service was first class, food fantastic, activities to suit all tastes-----a relaxed ethos.
liked accomodation, was very comfortable, all staff very friendly.room was very clean as this is important to me.
not a great selection on dinner menu, prices quite expensive.couldnt bring my dog along so would be interested in dog friendly accomodation next time.
Food & ambience
Cost excessive - £75/80 more realistic than £119 !
The staff were very friendly, the room was spacious and clean.
Sky TV was advertised but didn't have it. The food was disappointing
Being able to use facilities after having checked out .The room was good and the hotel gardens
Work was being done on the room next door and work noise and bad language was sometimes heard. One time a workman used our window to get access to outside the hotel onto a lower roof
We really liked the room decor and thought the room was very well appointed.
The parking was some way from the hotel when we were there and it was difficult to carry our luggage to and from the hotel.
Food was amazing in both of the onsite restaurants, really relaxed atmosphere and victorian spa was worth the extra money.
The first room we had backed onto the lift shaft which was very noisy so we asked to move rooms. This was done without any problems but we found the beds in both rooms to be very uncomfortable not befitting of the rest of our experience.
The bedroom was lovely and big .
Our bedroom was too far away fromthe main area with no lift to the third floor. We are pensioners and there was a lot of walking.Did not eat much as the food was too fancy. Somewhere to get plainer food would be good. Did not enjoy my stay.
Place was spotlessly clean.
Tried to get into my room early as I was going to a wedding and wanted to get changed there but was told no.
Good staff, Location.
Due to weather and half term hotel could not cope. Only 2 restaurants with 90% wishing to eat at same time. Very small bar area to relax with stressed staff. Not all 300 room numbers are accessible via lifts difficult with luggage. Lift capacity old and limited. Most of hotel is tired but understandable with volume business. Saving grace for hotel is most of its staff who were very helpful under difficult conditions. The kitchens perform miracles. The lodge our friends stayed in was exceptional (it was a new one) would stay in one if we ever visit again.
Staff were excellent, professional, friendly and helpful Huge variety of activities to suit all Restaurants outstanding as was the food and service All employees without exception totally professional and friendly Outstanding grounds to wander around Attention to detail even recognising we were celebrating our 40th Anniversary with special touches
The weather! But everything about the Hydro made that irrelevant
