The whole hotel needs a complete overhaul. Our Sons original room's bathroom was disgusting and had to be moved to another room, which wasn't that good either.
The Staff were friendly and tried to amend any problems
damp moldy rooms no beer just warm cans and bottles tv didn't work heating kept us awake with pipes banging.
near to city
No cups in room, no toilet roll in bathroom. Bathroom window doesn't oprn, toilet leaking, taps in bath do not work (have to use shower). TV suffered extreme pixellation
clean and comfortable, adequate for one night on business.
Hot water provision could be a little hit and miss and several of the secordary strip lights were not working.
Excellent access to London Road A6; The availability of car parking; Good room heating
Leaving, got up early and left.
As soon as we arrived the member of staff was talking on the phone whilst checking us in which I found very rude, I would have happily waited patiently for him to finish his phone call. Once in the room the bathroom was filthy and from my bed I struggled to see the television, I was then woken up at 8:50am by a knock on the door even though we wasn't to check out till 11am asking if we was staying or going? Again rude
Free wifi was brilliant
Room was not a good standard. Paint coming off the walls. Bed was not long enough and not comfortable. Toilet facilities were a bit gross.
It was cheap.
Very run down, not worth the money spent. Worst place I've ever stayed! The boiler system could be heard all night! Very noisy. Woke up by ?cleaner at 9 to be asked what time we were vacating! Check out wasn't until 11! The place needs a total refurb!
Man on reception was pleasant. Close to the De Montfort Hall.
Some noise from the surrounding rooms and corridor at late night .
The building is clean but tired looking
The staff very helpful and polite
Could have been a touch cleaner.
Great value and reasonable walking distance to anything one should have to do in Leicester. Staff was nice. The building was also quite nice.
- outdated and worn out premises (youth hostels are more luxurious) - breakfast between 7-8 am on weekdays and 8-9 am in weekends? Seriously... - noisy flooring, thin walls - would qualify more as a guesthouse than as a hotel - shaky internet
- friendly and helpful staff - close to city center, university and railway station
The heating in my room was broken as was the bedsite light and radio. Hotel tired and needs lots of tlc.
The location meant I could walk to the university and town. Free car park was a big bonus and staff were friendly
Half the car-parking ( Which was not that big ) seems reserved for the dental practice in the next property during the day! Would have been a pain if stopping longer than overnight!
Pretty handy for the middle of Leicester! Easy to find - and away from the inner ring road !
the hotel is being renovated - I think it'll be better when this is complete
Nice staff, room OK, pleasant building and venue
Cold wooden floor in bedroom. Scruffy bathroom. Mediocre breakfast
The room was very cold. Floor was freezing! Only one bedside lamp worked. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom - no towel rail or shelf or storage or soap dish of any kind! Breakfast was only 7.00 - 8.00 !
Room was clean. Lovely clean towels. Duvet was nice and warm.
The double bed pushed against the wall is not acceptable. Holes in the walls and mouldy looking shower ceiling. Only 4 parking spaces, so out in the road.
The owner was helpul.
Good price,good parking.Value for money.
Mouldy wall, thin walls (could hear every word of conversations, and snoring), and room was next to very noisy loos. Ran out of bacon at breakfast.
Delightful hosts, good position, clean. Not expensive, so didn't expect anything luxurious. WiFi worked fine.
radiator didn't work, but was given an electric heater and smallest shower cubicle ever seen!
Character of building, friendliness of staff, basic but essential facilities, good value, free parking and fantastic wi fi.
Electric shower in room 20 leaking from above the electric lit shower head. Hall and stair carpets badly worn and need replacing. Seemed like a student hall of residence.
Comfortable bed, great location for De Montfort Hall, Victoria Park and Old Horse pub. 15 minute walk to city centre.
Well located, very helpful staff, clean, functional room - simple but does the job. Good value for money. Just what I needed for my one night stay.
'Fawlty Towers' feel to the place
Location was good - ideal for visiting the university
