Except the location, nothing else to like about this place
Staff were unhelpful Extremely dirty and smelly room Toilet wasn't clean. No exhaust so the toilet was always wet. Dirty and smelly towels. Bed sheets not changed. Room smelt damp. Dirty kettle with dirty cups. One tea bag for two people. No teaspoon. ? Leaky shower. Breakfast was horrible. Dirty glass for orange juice. Not pure juice either. No one was present to check out. No wifi service available except at the dinning area. Ruined our weekend.
Good size room; double bed comfortable. Basic and clean. Staff pleasant - pity not around at breakfast! Excellent meal at the Italian restaurant next door.
No milk on tea tray; no spare pillows or blanket (but provided as soon as requested); towels of poor quality and discoloured; water slow to drain in washbasin and hence couldn't get hot water in the sink; little water pressure in shower. No one in attendance for breakfast until I phoned proprietor! too late then when he arrived for us to have breakfast as we had to leave.
the bed was comfortable.
no atmosphere - lack of people. tv did not work. no towels in bathroom. shower a disaster waiting to happen. rang out of toilet paper, had to go find some. hotel had a dead feeling about it. large garden around hotel weel kept but so called bar and italian restaurant were empty on both Friday and Saturday evening. a restaurant about 400 yards away was fully booked both nights. not sure what's wrong here but certainly not value for money.
didn'tlike to wait at the reception so long didn't like there wasn't WI-FI didn't like the dirty towels and cups and the room was noisy
Nice spacious room, good parking facilities, comfortable beds, well laid-out dining room
Laminate flooring in room, would have preferred carpeting.
The room was clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities which we used. We only stayed overnight as we were at a wedding in the day so literally only slept in there and left early the next morning. Didn't use the shower or have breakfast so can't comment on them. There is an Italian Restaurant at the Hotel but we didn't use it.
The toilet bowl needed a good clean - lots of limescale build up (thought something had been left in there at first!). Whole place could do with a spruce up - thought we had walked into Fawlty Towers (decor, not service!) More of a Guest House than Hotel - Reception not manned all the time; had to ring on the bell several times before we could check in early at 12.30 (check in is 4pm although we phoned and arranged early check-in). Didn't notice a Wi-Fi signal in our room.
I had a comfortable bed.
There was a spider under my pillow. The water pressure in the shower was non existant, there was only a trickle of water. Banging of doors, also car doors in middle of night, with loud argument going on. The room was too hot during the night. No-one was around when I came to check out, I tried ringing the bell several times in reception, by there was no response. I just left my key on the desk.
You get what you pay for with this hotel. Certainly clean but very tired around the edges. Staff were friendly but they too were 'tired'. With a bit more effort this would have been good value.
Breakfast was poorly cooked and for £8 was overpriced as was 2 small bottles of lager at £3.50 ea. WiFi only worked in the reception area (during our stay anyway).
Really comfortable and clean bed. Cheap. Helpful as they let me arrive very late.
Basic room - could do with a refurb
It's not made clear that you can't check-in after 12 am and we were in the area for a wedding and were told we'd have to leave the party early to check in. Also, the owner refused to check in his system if he had our booking. It was poor customer service - I would not recommend staying here.
ample parking close to town center staff polite room was ok dinning room fair but the bedding was very clean
seams to be run down in need of some decorating. no plug in sink trouble with toilet filling up so slow and noise no soap or shampoo had to ask for towels as only one in bathroom noise laminate flooring could hear other guests bed was scuffed and badly marked
Bathroom dirty Room shabby Ripped net curtain
Room large plenty of drawer space strong wi fi signal
Room needs a bit of a refurbishment
Lovely room and staff were very helpful and friendly. I used buses to get around bus stops very close to the hotel. Thought it was a really nice location. Had a really good stay.
The towels although washed were heavily stained Uncomfortable mattress Mouldy bed base No WI-FI in the annexe room Musty smelling rooms Broken tiles on entrance to annexe room And the list goes on... We paid for two nights and breakfast but left after 1 as it was so below standard!
It was central to many of Kent's tourist centres. The staff were friendly and accomodating.
It was hard to log onto wifi. The rooms weren't cleaned/tidied each day
The location Spacy room Clean Quiet at night Restaurant is OK, good food 6 £ for a glas of wine is expensive parking OK we were located in extension buildings, not in the nice looking facility on the website (not really a problem)
very bad mattress one crane loose nncome of room filthy one large and one small towel for two persons, not renewed the second day one cup for morning tea/coffee
Beds were very comfortable
Overpriced, rooms are tired looking . Left my used towels on the floor to be changed but on my return they were just hung up on rail and were wet through . Staff are impossible to find . Was the only hotel in the area so chose this hotel as no other option but would strongly recommend finding an alternative in the area as this is very poor .
Offers good value, it's not perfect, but if it was it'd be double the price! The restaurant is good and reasonably priced. The rooms are dated, but clean and comfortable
Small hand towels, not ideal for after a shower. Window catch broken so it wouldn't stay closed. If at the front the road and passers by can be noisy.... made worse when the window won't close!
It was a friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The owners/staff made you feel welcome. The amenities/facilities were very good. A very pleasant and enjoyable stay. We would certainly go back to The Croft.
There wasn't anything to dislike.
The bed was comfortable The television was clear The room was cool It was quiet The bar area was pleasant
It looked a bit 'old' - rust on the radiators etc. The toilet was not clean and there were dead spiders on the bathroom floor! There was a hairdryer but it cut out after one minute - no good if you have longer hair. The tea/coffee facilities were only enough for one cup each - they were not replenished for the second day Staff were ok but not particularly friendly, or helpful - we were not even shown to our room (which was in a seperate building)
I think the budget was spent on the bed!!! It was so soft and lovely!!! The out dorr area was ok but could have been a lot nicer.
But EVERYTHING else was a disapointment. Staff weren't friendly, the shower and the bedside lights were broken. The door had to be slammed shut. The bathroom looked unclean, rust on the radiator had dripped on the floor!!! No ventilation or foot mats so it got really slippy in there! Generally not impressed at all especially for the price!!
The bed was comfy and room I had was quiet .
Paid £50 for a single room that was the size of a broom cupboard . Room was very tired looking . Shower was a dribble at best
Nice grounds to walk in
Single room bathroom cramped. Tiny tv, although worked ok
