Unfortunately there was nothing positive to say about the guest house. The room was dirty and cramped and the bathroom was tiny. The breakfast was burnt and inedible.

I had selected the Crompton as it was close(2 min) from the station close to Heathrow and supplied breakfast. On arrival I discovered I had been changed to another venue with no breakfast a 13min walk with case to the station with a longer trip to the airport. With a 20+ hour flight ahead of me all this was not appreciated. My Visa cash cash card (used throughout trip) was not accepted by the hotel so I had to walk to the nearest atm to use the same card to get cash for them. Perhaps a slightly lower tariff may have been in order or perhaps some notification so that other arrangements could have been made.

Ease of getting there from Heathrow Long flight of stairs to front door. Very warm inside despite cool temperature of the outdoors (no a/c). Staff had charged my credit card in us$ in stead of GBpounds, costing me several dollars because of a very poor exchange rate.

The room was very clean and the shower hot and powerful. The staff were friendly and eager to please and our room was cleaned thoroughly every day. Hotel was in an excellent position - just a short distance from the Underground and bus stops with Hounslow town centre and a huge Asda just a few minutes away. I liked the fact that a fridge was provided in the room and there was free parking - unusual for this part of London. I didn't dislike anything about the hotel. My friend said her bed was a bit uncomfortable but mine was fine!

The bedroom size was good. The room temperature was pleasant. The outer appearance is pretty Victorian. Telephone service should be available in the room.. The water in the shower should be at least warm at all times. The breakfast room should not be dark and cold. Bed linen should not be handled through the eating area when eating breakfast. The condiments should be in individual pouches, not slapped into open bowls without separate spoons. It would be recommendable to cook a proper English breakfast that is well prepared and appetizing, not only to the tastebud but to the eye as well. A good cooking oil should be used to fry food not stale and ranzid smelling fat.

The location of Crompton Guest House is ideal for Twickenham and with all modes of transport nearby perfect for a City visit also. I dont't believe that it is aa 4 Star standard, however the room was comfortable and quite well decorated. The promised secure parking facility was of a good standard and it was nice to know that the car was indeed safe for the weekend. The location is excellent for the town and trains and buses. I cannot say that the breakfast was outstanding but just adequate. The bathroom/shower room for a family room was very small and felt quite damp although there was a fan.

This hotel is clean and economical and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location is convenient to the Underground and airport and there are pubs and shops within easy walking distance. The building is slightly shabby. Renovation projects seem to be underway, though.

My daughter and I stayed at the Crompton Guest House Nov 18-20..This Is our 4th stay at this facility..They are currently carrying out some emergency repair work on the building,so their Is some dust which Is only to be expected..The hot water was lost on the Friday night, which was frustrating ,but Glen the duty manager was great In letting us use the studio flat across the road for showering..Hot water was available Sunday morning after a replacement water pump was found/fitted..The owner Sunny was a real gentleman at giving us a ride to lhr Terminal 1 ,which was great as we had been on a shopping spree at the nearby asda super store(Walmart chain In the UK),and to lug our bags on the tube would have been a real hassle!!!..Breakfast Is really nice and the free WiFi is great!!..The location Is great to..Come out of the front door and their Is the tube(Hounslow Central) about 50 yards away ..If you like Indian food, then the delhi 6 Is a restaurant you must visit..Five min walk away from the Crompton(next door to asda)..i always use the Crompton Guest House when I visit London as they treat everyone like family..Very helpful staff..We are going again next year!!//Paul Boulter Lancaster Pa, usa

A great location for your last night in London if you're flying out of Heathrow. Only two tube stops away and the station is two doors down. The hotel is older, but they are working on it. The bathroom had been updated and was quite clean. The room was standard size for such places. The staff was very friendly and willing to help out however they could in finding restaurants, etc. However, it is a 20-30 minute tube ride to downtown, so it's not very good for exploring the city itself. Hounslow is a working class neighborhood, so don't expect upscale anything, but, I can recommend the Moon over Water pub about a 10 minute walk. Great place.

Nice & helpful staff, good facilities, located conveniently near shops, tube, etc. Thick carpets are mouldy and smell slightly stale, esp. in corridors, which at first gives a run-down impression of the facility. Which, though old, it really isn't. And turning up the heater thermostat beyond the 35 C mark does not help here..... We turned off all the radiators we could get to on the top floor, and every afternoon turned down the thermostat to 16 C, opened the windows in our room, took off our coats and jerseys asap, and had a nice stay there after all! But they should get rid of the ankle deep carpets, and of that cold-blooded employee.....

Its location, being close to underground stn, and local shops helped us.Good that it had secure parking to rear and staff were helpful and polite. Large sign at front helps in locating the place. Our room downstairs, smelt damp and paint was peeling off the walls, the bathroom has very low ceiling and there is no warning of this, I bumped my head at least once. I would not recommend this guest house if you are disabled, access is poor, too many stairs. My wife had a stroke earlier this year and we were in the downstairs room, two flights of stairs from the main entrance. Beware coming in front gate, there is a little step easy to miss, easy to stumble.

Closeness to transport and friendliness of staff. It can get a bit noisy at times but I guess it is on the flight path to Heathrow.

Had only one night, because of rerouting for cancelled flights. The location can't be beat as far as proximity to Heathrow, as well as being a 1-minute walk from the Underground station. The price seemed relatively reasonable for a private room with en suite (small) bathroom. Breakfast was decent - juice, tea/coffee, hot food options, cereal. A very nice option if included. Noise from the planes overhead and the train right behind the building, but wasn't terrible. The room and bathroom are quite small, but I expected "cozy." Being alone in a 'triple' was okay, but not sure with other people how small it would feel. Left a suitcase in the office after check-out, but couldn't guarantee someone would be around to let me in to the building or the office when I returned to retrieve my luggage.

very friendly staff especially the manager, nothing too much trouble for him, breakfast excellent and the cost of the room was very good value for money Could do with more information leaflets for theme parks e.g. legoland, thorpe park, chessington; these would be useful for families. Also they could do with updating the decor and painting. Dining room extremely small and cleaning staff kept coming in to the dining room to access the cupboards for bed linen and cleaning products whilst you were eating your breakfast! These should be located elsewhere! The room was very hot and we had to leave the fan on all night. Having said all this we would definitely return there again as it was good value for money and convenient to the underground to go direct into London.

Very convenient for an early departure from Heathrow, just 3 tube stops, and less expensive than the hotels on the perimeter of the airport. Only 50 metres from Hounslow Central station . a big, old house with lots of character and high ceilings, so don't expect pristine facilities. Breakfast was very good with a choice of cereal, toast and fruit, or a cooked English breakfast. The Manager was very helpful with advice about the area. The pub next door is very ordinary - ask for directions to the free house about 10 minutes walk away. The ensuite bathroom had very good facilities but was very small. Aircraft noise was pervasive. Closing the double glazed windows killed most of the noise but made the room very stuffy. The ceiling fan made the room bearable until the landings stopped because of the curfew.
