The 3-star rated Crompton House is a 10 minute walk from Lake Windermere. It offers free Wi-Fi, free parking and free access to recreational facilities at a nearby country club. Between Bowness and Windermere, this Victorian guesthouse offers traditional accommodations with breakfast included. All rooms have TVs and private bathrooms with showers and toiletries. Walks ranging from ambling walks to longer, scenic fell walks begin right outside Crompton House. Staff were very friendly. Room was nice wasn't anything fancy but was great for a few days away. Breakfast in the morning was great. It's a family run business and has a nice welcome feel about it. A very nice place to stay and location was excellent. Would recommend to others.

It was in a great spot, we didnt use the car at all during our stay and chose to walk or use the local train which was reasonably priced. Room small but not expecting more due to good price. Great breakfast included. Would use this hotel again.

Service is poor， all the family never smile and give no advice and no recommondation to us. The breakfast is poor, no fruit and no cake. The house is small but the room is clean.

We were made very welcome by the owners the hotel was excellent rooms were spotless and a superb breakfast,the free use of the low wood leisure club was fantastic excellent value for money,would definately recommend this hotel to anyone. Perfect.

Breakfast was good, freshly made, nice selection of fruits etc to choose from. Landlady and landlord not available at stated sheck in time, therefore kept waiting outside (one guest pregnant and tired!!) No apology made by landlord and landlady upon their return and in fact, I was still trying to call them when they arrived but having not introduced themselves I thought they were other guests. Found it difficult to get in touch with them when we found our toilet blocked in our room and therefore had to use our friends toilet. Had it not been for our friends staying with us we wouldnt have had a toilet to use.

The proprietors were friendly and helpful and made us very welcome. We had a relaxing holiday in a great location with a comfortable room and a good breakfast each day. Access to leisure facilities at a nearby hotel was particularly appreciated. We were most satisfied with our stay at Crompton House for our week's holiday in the Lakes.

The breakfast was included and very good. The room was too basic for the price, and very small. Also, the carpets were very filthy, and there were no chairs to sit on. In short, way too pricey for what they offer.

I thought the room was very nice and the owners were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious. The hotel is ideally situated between the centre of Windermere town and Bowness with plenty of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Huge big tv in the room was a real bonus as there was no lounge or communal area. The house was clean and well cared for and very welcoming. The ensuite could do with a bit of a revamp and unfortunately the road at the front of the house is very busy and too noisy with the bedroom windows open.
