Good location, close to everything but this did lead to a few noisy revellers walking past the hotel in the wee hours.
Small cupboard type ensuite.
The location, close to the city centre and the seafront, the cleanliness and friendliness of staff, good breakfast, very good quality of bed, lovely and large room
The small bathroom, that does not have a proper door but it's fine for a couple sharing a room, the nightlife in Eastbourne which can be... interesting
Great people and great breakfast
Comfortable rooms (including a lovely bathroom) Friendly and accommodating owners Everything very clean and well cared-for Fruit salad for breakfast! Prime position near the sea-front ....and I really liked the little blue and white tiles on the front steps!
Not a 'didn't like', but just that we would have appreciated a set of keys each on a couple of occasions, rather than just having one set for each room (we were there as two couples).
My mum liked the fact that she was very close to all the shops. She also enjoyed using her free bus-pass during the day with frequent buses to lovely places. We both enjoyed the breakfasts! Thank you.
Parking was an issue the first night as I couldn't park anywhere near the guest house. I came back earlier the second night and parking was much easier. Eastbourne is very busy in July!
Friendly and welcoming
Really friendly greeting. fab breakfast, excellent value for money..will definitely return when back in Eastbourne.
I liked the room, I liked the owners, I liked the food and I liked the comfortable bed.
Nothing I did not like but would have liked a small fridge in the room.
The whole atmosphere of the house was very pleasing which made for a very good weekend stay.
Obviously parking is a problem but we managed;
The street noise was too loud at night, which may be due to the World Cup
Great Hotel 2nd time I have stayed would recomend
Poor internet connection in the room
Very friendly welcome, very convenient situation between town centre and the sea; also handy for the railway station. There was a lounge for guests. Very nice breakfast. Well appointed bedroom. Very good value for money
My single room was very small, but when I booked it I had seen feedback that warned of this, so I was not disappointed. It was fine for one night.
Friendly and helpful.
WiFi not available in the room (on 1st floor) - not as advertised. Ensuite shower/toliet were really in the room inside am unsightly plastic cubicle. Expensive as a 4* hotel.
Absolute little gem of a B&B will definitely return.
This B & B is a really lovely place to stay. The proprietors are so welcoming and friendly. It is lovely and clean with all the facilities you need. I will certainly book to stay again in the future as I visit Eastbourne regularly to see relatives. I wish I had found Cromwell House sooner. I would highly recommend this B & B.
Great location, nice comfortable room, friendly welcome and excellent breakfasts.
The owners were really helpful. The location is just around the corner from the pier and is very central, so in the summer that would be good. The place was clean and tidy. Very good value.
The parking situation is diabolical, but every hotel in the entire district has the same problem. I arrived on the wettest night of the year and got soaked trying to fine a parking place. But that's not the hotel's fault. However, probably good for people travelling by train and taxi!
This was the perfect base for visiting Eastbourne, being close to the sea, to public transport and to the centre. Breakfast was plentiful and the welcome warm and helpful. The single room was small but perfectly adequate, and good use had been made of the space.
Great family run hotel, super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this hotel.
Near the sea. Owner was amenable and resolved problems.
Landlord owned pets and that was not clearly obvious at time of booking. Twin room was small and not the one advertised in the picture.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, everything was clean and worked. The location was dry convenient for my needs and perfectly close to the town centre and touristy bits if they were required. Overall well worth every penny
My room was pretty compact, despite being carefully thought out in terms of its layout and facilities. Whilst this worked for me, a larger guest might actually physically struggle with the ensuite facilities.
The room was clean and warm. Having a lounge open to guests was nice and the breakfast was excellent. The owners were friendly and attentive. It's almost in the town centre.
The single room was a tad small (not uncomfortably so), which meant that the en-suite bathroom didn't have a real door (no room to open it, I imagine) and instead had a plastic sliding door. Once I got used to it, it was fine, though.
Cheap room, Staff was polite
Slept late on my last day and came down after both "check out" and "cleaning room" times had passed but was told that "they thought I had left already, so they had taken the money ". How about checking the room first before accusing someone of doing a runner! There was also paint bits on the staircase.
