Staff were friendly. Great location
Broken bed. Dirty towels. No kettle for duration of stay, despite asking. Breach of fire regulations!!!
good value for money for short stay, one or two nights. room a bit compact for a longer stay with luggage
beds were comfortable but pillows were very thin and unsupportive
When we arrived at 2am after a delayed flight we were given the key to a family room..this was in the basement where all the laundry and cleaning service were..had to walk over bags of laundry to get there..room paint chipped off all walls..leak in ceiling in bathroom..no hairdryer or any services...under beds dirty...horrendous..not worth even a one star!
size of the room
40 pounds for a room consisting of a bed and a shower with very little space between them, located close to a tube station in the centre of London is - realistically speaking - a fair value for money. Not all facilities in a room were in good condition (e.g. some electric sockets not working), walls were rather thin so you could hear what was going on in your neighbours' rooms, cleanliness was acceptable although it would be nice to improve on that. But if you are only looking for a place to sleep and are not particularly fussy, that's could be an option (especially bearing in mind that London is rather excessive hotel price-wise).
The girls at the reception are very helpful and kind. A big plus for them! The rooms are quite new and with private bathrooms.
The existing windows need to be changed for better ones, as the street is very noisy. No wifi in the rooms.
Very good conection with center of London
The room was tiny with no mattrass protector on bed, only sheet. The carpet had large dark stains (blood?) next to bed. The walls had chunks of plaster missing. The cistern on toilet was not functioning and water was running all night.
Problemfree check in and out. No complaints, as I got what I paid for... Don't think I will return, though.
They claim to be close to the shoppings streets. They're not! You could check the map, of course. I trusted the reviews. Luckily, I had an Oyster card, and the underground was "just" a 300 meter walk. The walls are wafer thin. When they say "single", they mean it. The room was about four square meters. The bathroom was spacious compared! Når de sier enkeltrom, så mener de enkeltrom. Ca 4 kvm. Badet var faktisk enormt romslig i forhold.
Great value for money, room was great and would defiantly say again
Nothing I had made a mistake in booking that hotel as I took a wrong zone of London in relation to where I has to be the morning after. I ased for a last minute cancellation that they has the right to refuse and they did. The problem was the way they did it. A) it was a true mistake, I went myself in person to exponent a proposed a 50 pct penalty fee that they refused B ) at the same time they were tellin me and other guest that hotels in the area were fully booked any that it would be difficult to find a place to stay last minute, in that case why were they so inflexible on my proposal as they could have rented with high probability to someone else c) staff clearly untrained, too young, cheaply paid, unable to take any constructive initiatives at the risk to get fired d) dirty entrance that even if I had the intention to stay there I would have gone away
I loved the split level room I had. It gave my children their own space.
The standard of the fittings was cheap and had started to show wear and tear
Good if you are going to the museums but a way out from Hyde park.
In reception there is a very ornate wall of water, which we all thought was behind glass. Sorry to say that it soaked my coat and I had to buy another. It should be more clearly marked. The lift was shabby and did not look trustworthy.
This hotel is great value for money, great location and clean comfortable rooms.
The walls were quite thin so could hear a lot of noise from people next door but we slept with the tv on so wasn't a problem.
Convenient location and functional room
I stayed for 3 nights 7, 8 & 9 Nov 2014 & was given Room 208 which was suppose to be a single room. It was no such thing. It was probably originally a broom cupboard which they converted to a room & added the bathroom. I asked for another room but none was available. I have already complained in writing but no response to date.
Cheap The staff helped us with the routes and subway information
The shower was not working. We asked the staff to bring extra blankets to our room since it was cold... They never came.
The staff specially the young bangladesh man very polite and helpful
Well when we were looking for the hotel the lady who answered seems not really aware of the exact direction of the hotel specially when we asked for the landmark being new to the place they should give the exact direction besides the Cromwell crown billboard need changing for its fading needs a brighter for the customer to see it it takes us 30 minutes to find i thank God for the post man who gives us the better direction
Everything else. Very poor value for money. We were put in an unfinished room with various contractors coming in throughout our stay. The window didnt close and there was scaffolding coming right up to it. Black mold in the shower. Walked in on while getting changed by cleaning staff. Phone didnt work. Shower drain blocked. Shower heads broken. Only two tiny streams came through one shower head. Several outlets didnt work. Bed was listed as expanded double, in reality two singles on wooden board. Bugs in washroom. Hair in shower when we arrived. Light fixtures weren't stable and half didnt work. Light shades that didnt fit were put on them. Pillows thin and uncomfortable. No mattress cover. Just sheet on bed. Blanket given didnt fit mattresses, about a foot short. Addresses all of these issues with the staff and manager. They were incapable of resolving any of them and were unable to assist us in anyway. The staff spoke in Italian amongst themselves which we understood. And they never knew how to deal with our concerns. The staff and manager are basically powerless and the owner, who has meetings in the lobby with contractors and other staff, is cheap and unapproachable. We overheard his meetings in the lobby with contractors arguing over price and services. Internet only in lobby and doesn't work if more than one person is on it. It's a 70 room hotel. Plan on not having Internet. The best part: the manager showed us photos from other rooms and they are worse than ours! Wires hanging from the walls, black mold everywhere, etc. Daily we overheard other people staying at the hotel complaining. Our room was parially redone but poorly and quickly without attention to detail. Several health and safety concerns. And it didn't match what we were expecting at all. Especially for the price. DO NOT STAY HERE.
Everything Dirty room with mould bathroom fittings falling off the wall. Punic hairs in the bed. English breakfast with no bacon and finally an owner who forbids the staff to tell us his name
Mattress awful Staff reception awful
Poor room and very small bed, no enthusiasm in staff
Our stay at Cromwell Crown Hotel was very pleasant and comfortable , what we liked the most was the provided sense of privacy
No wifi access in the rooms , and some connectivity problems in the lobby , not to mention that testing the fire alarm on a sunday night was inconvenient and created an atmosphere of terror in the hotel. Such procedure should be announced individually to all guests instead of just posting a memo inside the lift.
If you are under 6ft tall you are fine! but I am over 6ft tall and the bed was not long enough.
Staff was really friendly and helpful. Excellent room facilities, very clean room. Best thing is location is very good harrods is 10 mins away. I am definetly going to book this hotel again.
