Clean comfy and good location
Noisy neighbours at 2am
no hairdryer in room
Very Tatty. Everywhere needs decorating. Shower was flakey. Carpet dirty. Lamp didn't work. Wi fi in reception not working.
great location, very clean and cosy!
staff too young, not very aware of customer service skills..
Wifi service very poor Difficult accessibility inside the hotel Degraded outlook
wifi not available in rooms, wifi in loby doesn't work
The best thing about this hotel is its location , just a 2 minute walk to Gloucester station. Science museum is also 10 min walk so it is very convenient. The rooms are modern, we were in room 102 where we could ''catch'' the WiFi from front desk so we were pretty happy.
- Had to request hairdryer - Got only 1 towel pp, so had to request - Room is so small, but thats OK since we used it only to sleep -Bed is so uncomfortable! :( I had a backache
We stayed in the refurbished junior suite. Quiet with good plain décor. Fresh towels and toiletries daily. Plenty of space for 4 & good bathroom with powerful shower.
View from window horrible (keep voile/curtains closed!). No hair dryer. Wifi not available in bedroom only in reception area, which is small.
Nice hotel, friendly staff at good price. Decent breakfast, nice neighborhood with underground, pubs, restaurants, supermarket and musea in walking distance
The room was cold upon entering, bedcover thin. Extra heater present but thicker bedcovers would have been nicer
The location was great.Only a five minute walk to Gloucester road tube station which gives direct access to central London. Hotel is also only a ten minute walk from the museum of natural history.Hotel also appeared very clean.
There was only one pillow each in the room. Towels were like handtowels and the handle on the shower fell off while trying to use. This is coupled with the fact we were unable to adjust the temperature to cold despite trying so the shower was too hot for us to use.
Worst view ever seen from hotel with scaffolding and dirty rubbish and pigeons. Dreadful bathroom amenities
Whilst struggling with two heavy suitcases a young child in a buggy, the staff offered no help while trying to go downstairs. The bed was hard like concrete and the paint was flaking from the walls and woodwork.
the location was excellent for visiting museums and access to the Underground, in a safe area. also reasonable price.
wifi only at reception. our bedroom was in the basement at the front and we had to plough through the chambermaids piles of dirty bedlinen to access our room. we didn't sleep well both nights of our stay due to the noise of the traffic outside. while the staff were friendly, most of them didn't understand English so it was like Faulty Towers trying to be understood when ordering breakfast. the night porter actually checked us out the first morning when at 10am we gave the key into reception for safe keeping until our return. I think he had been working all night. too long on the job........
Location. Quiet (in my room, at any rate).
Room extremely small. Only 2 clothes hangers. The bathroom fittings were all loose, and the standard of construction was poor.
Bathroom plenty of room and good shower.
No coat hangers and room a little bit to small, walls very thin allowing next rooms noise easily being heard.
Good location and they do cater for a family with teenager as they have triple room
Under going refurb lots un finished heating didn't work ion our bedroom cupboard handles on wrong no wifi in rooms only in lobby which wags very small , breakfast awful very small portions for the £8.50 cost you can walk up the road and get a much nicer one, staff only spoke if you asked them something not very friendly .
Check in was very straight forward and the room was clean, the bed was very comfortable. Hot water was always there when wanted and the shower was great in our room as well. We paid for breakfast and both found that very good value for money and also plentiful & tasty. We only stopped one night so can;t comment on longer stays. The location was great for the underground station just 5 minutes down the road and also the museums and Albert hall which are all in easy walking distance.
Kettle is in the wardrobe but there is no plug so it has to removed and stood on the floor to boil it. Also just our luck but electronic card lock failed so we were left standing outside after breakfast until staff managed to manually let us in? But we were given extra time to check out after 10 am due to the faulty lock failure?
Great value although a little basic
although I did book the cheapest room it was just a little small (broom closet size). If for a short stay and remembering hotels in the same street will cost three or four times as much it is great value. Your savings could make a big difference to the other activities you may have planned
The hotel is small and didn't cost much but it was just what we were looking for. We wanted a cheap hotel with comfortable beds and no hassle. The bed was comfortable and the staff were very helpful. I had forgotten my shoes in the room after we left and contacted the hotel a week later and they were very helpful in helping me reclaim them. Desi in the reception in particular was quite helpful in helping me. If you are looking for an affordable hotel at a great location in London this is the way to go.
The only complaint is that our room was in the basement and the view outside the window was of a construction site or something like that.
Nothing - terrible hotel. Still waiting for manager to ring me back!
Everything. Had a broken bed, which had been broken looks like for a long time. The slat had broken the missing piece was no where to be found room 207, room 208 shower stuck on scoulding. Rooms tiny, it was like a cupboard, im 5ft5 ish my feet could touch one end my head the other. Breckie was terrible, for 8 pound 50 we had one piece of toast, one sausage, one hash brown, a fork of beans (could fit it all om one fork) - it was not worth the money at all! Put in a complaint as would like my money back and still waiting for so called manager to ring me back!
Cheap Good Bed Good Location
-Hotel decided after one week of the booking that they got the price wrong and expected me to pay more, I run a business and certainly wouldn't do this -Had 2 booking done at different times but for 2 nights in a row, however was expected to check out and re-check in..pointless, -Admittedly I booked a single but the smallest room I've ever stayed in..ever. -First night the TV didn't work, also the kettle cable doesn't stretch over the bed to the socket meaning you have to rest the kettle on the bed (very dangerous) I may report this. Same situation for the supplied heater (luckily I didn't need it) -at 3am the Air Con randomly came on, by 5am the room was boiling, no remote so had to stand on the bed and reach it. -2nd night moved rooms, no remote for the TV and 1 out the 2 plugs didn't work. Due to my job I stay in a lot of hotels, 10-12 a year, over the last 8 years...by far this is the worst.
Hotel needs a thorough renovation, unskilled staff, in-sufficient and in-flexible breakfast 'service' (items announced on menu not available even after 4 days stay, orders not dealt with appropriately (e.g. vegetarians don't want a sausage on their plate), 2 of 4 towels dirty on arrival, bath needs renovation, proper check-in not possible due to card-reading machine failure, elevator smelly and needs renovation. Hotel staff tries to do its best but is not trained, management seems to be lacking and thus standard is low.
The price for what we got....supreme king was two single beds and single duvets! Leaking shower curtain hanging off marks iver the walls...amd this was a newly refurbished room!I asked for different sheets and I was expected to change it! Very disappointed
No Wifi in rooms, only in lobby which disconnects all the time, no celan rooms, no clean beds, no hair dryer, no heating. broken facilities in bathroom they dnt change towels unless you ask.
Location, price, en suite, general cleanliness. Also bed was pretty big. Generally a nice stay.
No cold tap in bathroom, 10am kick out a bit early for us, double bed was two singles pushed together, but nothing that we couldn't get over.
