Cromwell Crown Hotel  

This Hotel was obviously undergoing a make over and half of the hotel looked like it had been modernised. This is what was shown on the internet and in there printed literature stating that all rooms had been updated, this clearly was not the case as we were put in the back of the hotel which was like stepping into another location. The only way I can describe the room we were given is that it was like a student let.

Location 24 hour lobby

Hot water problems almost every day. Shower was out of order. Heater was out of order Battery of Door lock depleted - I had to sleep in another room without my stuff.

The room itself was to a very good standard. High ceilings and spacious rooms, were complimented by comfortable beds, a great location and friendly and non intrusive staff.

The reception area was under construction as it was being renovated, which was not mentioned and occasional building works could be heard through the morning and day. Not one for the late risers.

Nothing, I have stayed at many hotels and the Cromwell did not give good value for the £256 I spent for two nights. I sat in reception waiting to meet friends and all I heard was other guest complaining. I will never be staying at this hotel again.

Poor room standard and attention to details:- No t.v channels. Toilet seat loose. Shower didn't work correctly. Toilet position very uncomfortable to sit on. Small bath room basin, if you swith the main lever on to fill the bowl water shots all over the floor. Door hard tp open as carpet rubs on bottom of door. No room phone. Bathroom light and fan do not turn of unless you remove the room key from the slot.

Price and location.

A hotel is in very poor condition. So please pay attantion, that price is low, but condition is very very bad

The staff were very friendly, kind and patient and the cleaning staff did their job very well.

It's a little expensive for what you get and because of the renovations I was inconvenienced and did not get real value for money but I'm sure when the renovations are finished it will be a very good hotel if they do not increase the prices.

The hotel was undergoing building work and was dirty. The communal shower was broken, the white towels left on the bed were grey and had pieces of used soap on top of them. The bedroom smelt bad. There was a nail sticking out of the plug socket. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Location 5 mins to 2 tube stations and 10 mins to natural history museum which was fab for us all, cleanliness, modern. Sainsbury supermarket across the road handy. Loads of places to eat 5 min walk away. Bath and shower inthe room. Great value.

Ok rooms were great but on a noisy main road with traffic from 4am. Not a problem after sight seeing all day but if you need sound proofing book the Marriot up the road for 3 times the price. They are converting the rooms but we heard nothing and booked a room that was modernised.

Very pleasantly suprised, after reading reviews! They are in the middle of a refit, which I didn't have a problem with as our room was fantastic. We walked to natural history museum (10 min walk with children). Really close to everywhere. Room was perfect temperature (I usually find hotels too hot)! I didn't have a problem with the mess downstairs as we were in London to sightsee not sit in hotel lobby! A quick tip get off at Gloucester road rather than Earl's court tube station as much closer!

The hotel is in the middle of being refurbished, and walking into the lobby I wasn't expecting much. However, we were all very pleasantly surprised when we entered the room which was much larger, well decorated and more luxurious than we could have expected for the price. Great value and great location at only 2 minutes walk from the Gloucester Road tube stop - fantastic.

The staff, while helpful, were not particularly friendly.

It's location to central London.

No hot water in the shower for 2 days. No-one avaliable to fix it. Furniture falling apart. No sign of any manageent to complain to. Carpets hanging off the stairs (very dangerous) Very dodgy lift that sometimes works. Stay here at your peril!

Brilliant price for the location of the hotel. Room was of a lovely standard and had a great stay

Wasnt very clear on how to get to room if I was not to take elevator. And the elevator felt quite unstable and acted quite odd for us and took along time to go down two levels?
