Staff were excellent, food was lovely, no faults atal with this hotel.
Very welcoming and helpful staff good location good breakfast good value for money (£55 for a double) Individual, characterful property
Very tired and shabby, in desperate need of some TLC
Love the whole place been there three times in two years.
The food in the restaurant was great and the location of the hotel right in the centre.
We were given a room where the toilet didn't flush which we found out the next morning that they staff already knew about. Also the shower had no hot water.
Comfortable bed Good breakfast (except cereal choice)
Choice of only 2 breakfast cereals Hot water took an age to come through in the bathroom
Central location - easy access to bars restaurants and shops. Parking was fine.
Decor looking a bit tired. Lighting in rooms was too dim.
THE LOCATION WAS GOOD RIGHT ACROSS THE ROAD FROM SHOPS, PUBS AND RESTAURANTS. THE HEATING WAS GOOD THROUGHOUT THE HOTEL. THE BREAKFAST WAS GOOD AND THERE WAS SUFFICIENT CAR PARKING ROUND THE BACK
THE SHOWER WAS A BIT SMALL AND IF YOU ARE QUITE A LARGE PERSON YOU WOULD STRUGGLE IN IT SO GET ONE OF THE ROOMS WITH A BATH
Great value and lovely food
Noise in room.
Nice room, very spacious and comfortable.. Good price
Breakfast, no orange juice, no glasses, no plates.. Although the only waitress was very helpful
we liked the way the young waitress ran around serving drinks at the bar serving meals and even answering the phone on reception. needless to say everybody had to wait a considerable time to get served. we take it this is why our stay was relatively cheap as you only have one member of staff to pay
breakfast we were told was served until 12 ,lovely we thought. we came down at 10.30 to find no orange juice or fruit only to be told the buffet closes at 10 so we could only have a cooked breakfast. next day we came down a 9.30 to avoid this ,then were told we had to wait until 10 before cooked breakfast starts.needless to say you will not be seeing us again
The connecting door between rooms was so thin you felt as if you were sharing your room with other people. The noise from the other room was not the fault of the occupants but you could literally hear everything! Upon enquiring to be moved - nothing was available because it was unfair to ask others to move rooms. Didn't understand this at all and gave up asking!
The room was lovely, comfortable bed and the most amazing power shower! Value for money was incredible.
Little bit noisy due to it being an old building, but didn't prevent me from sleeping or anything like that.
Really excellent staff, very helpful and pleasant throughout our stay
The staff was fantastic and breakfast range was quite substantial. I had kippers and I colleague had a full English and both was very good. Room had allot of drafts which would expect in an old building. May be a better place to stay in the summer.
the breakfast and the staff .
Good location and cleanliness.
I had a downstairs room which was very noisy.
No staff for any form service. This is not the first time I have experienced this problem. No bad staff just understaffed.
The lady on reception when we checked in was very nice. That's the only positive thing I can say about the stay I'm afraid
The room wasn't clean, the shower curtain was mouldy, the bed was uncomfortable. The service (or rather lack of) at breakfast was terrible, and the food itself was disgusting.
This is a lovely hotel with nice rooms and it's in a nice place but it is monumentally poorly run. You seriously have to go just to experience it. We had hours of fun regaling our friends about the breakfast chaos. No cutlery, no crockery, no coffee, no toast ...literally no service. If nothing else, it will give you a laugh...it's like faulty towers!
Service was astonishingly bad
room 22 was really cold draughts coming in through window frame had to wear socks in bed throughout night heating was on max
The staffs attitude were good and the property was nice and clean as advertised. The breakfast was perfect and the environment was very good
We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay much longer. Situated in a lovely area, close to the lovely array of shops and lovely walks around the town. We hope to return very soon but for a longer stay. Staff were lovely and so helpful. Beautiful Breakfast to set you up for the day. Very lovely cosy hotel. Thank you.
It was ok
As I said it was ok.
Good location. Staff were good, just very rushed as there wasn,t enough of them. Breakfast good.
Standard of accommodation poor- the rooms were very tired. The bathroom was tiny and again very tired, the window didn,t even shut. The room had a very musty smell. Overall, not impressed.
