I like the atmosphere, the old wooden structure and modern facilities inside. Breakfast was excellent, full English breakfast and delicious dinner. Downstair's a pub and good music in the evening.
The location is a great base, the patio area nice surprise, the food and drink in the bar lovely, the breakfast was amazing!
We stayed in room 6, so above the kitchen and next to the patio area. As we weren't in the room and it was a cool evening not a problem but I would imagine a nightmare in hot weather! There was a fan in the wardrobe to use if needed. The room was basic and a bit dated but great for the money - the bed was sooooo comfy!
Good location for town centre etc
Lack of parking. Loud music from the bar below
could hear other rooms clearly!!
everything about our stay
Good location right in the heart of Shrewsbury with plenty of character. Friendly and welcoming staff. Comfortable four poster bed and pleasantly decorated bedroom. Excellent dinner in the wine bar after a drink in the delightful courtyard garden. Our second visit and I hope we will come again.
The shower room was a little 'tired', though the shower worked well.
Staff could not do enough for us - so friendly and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable!
Qirky rooms - room 5 is exellently situated with more space than others, lots of character, comfort and individuality. Great food and staff were extremely friendly, polite and attentive.
staff excellent could not be more helpfull. Location very good. Good value for money.
Rooms a bit tired.Rooms very noisy untill 11.00pm
Excellent for visit to Shrewsbury
Comfortable room with 4 poster bed, great steak dinner, good quality full English and fab service. Apparently the rooms are going to be decommissioned and made into a restaurant in the winter time which is a shame, so recommend visiting soon!
We had eaten at Cromwells a couple of years ago and didn't realise they had rooms, the food was excellent and the room was very comfortable, only slight criticism would be the street noise.Breakfast was good too.
Room fantastic. Excellent helpful staff. Wonderful outside area for drinking and dining. Food at dinner and breakfast was exceptional. Tremendous value for money.
walk to car park, very minot problem when considering all the positives
courtyard garden good food at very reasonable prices
good size room very good power shower. And the restaurant served very good quality food
small tv in bedroom was my only dislike to be fair.
This was our 4th (?) stay here and every time it feels more like home from home. The bedrooms are lovely - clean, luxurious and well furnished. We had a great lunch out in the beer garden - and breakfast as ever was superb.
Room 5 which is our favourite in so many ways (cool 4-poster bed!) suffers from being right on the main road, and on a hot night the noise was a real pain. Hardly the hotel's fault, to be fair, as various drunken groups kicked their way down the street at 3am.. nonetheless it did slightly spoil the otherwise relaxed visit.
Friendly staff, great service,
Lovely hotel and service.
Room was way to warm. Ok it was a beautiful summers day and night. But an investment in some fans or air con would be a great advantage.
The staff were very helpful, the food was very good.
The lack of a car park was inconvenient
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. All bathroom appliances worked very well. Excellent full English breakfast included in the price.
Very small tv screen. No AC on some very hot days.
Nothing as was closed
Booked the four poster room for our wedding night , sent a request for a late check in and also called the the hotel to check that a late arrival would be ok . I explained we were getting married and would not get to the hotel until after 1am and offered to have a friend check in during the day for us , I was told that my request was not out of the ordinary and was no problem at all as they were open til 1am and someone would be there for us until we arrived ,no need to have our friend check in for us . I was so pleased !! , what fab customer service we thought . That is until we arrived at 1:15am to find that the door was locked . We tried calling the phone number but no answer !!!! To be fair it was very disappointing standing in my wedding dress with my case out side on the pavement , we ended up driving home
Decent location near to the city centre with nearby parking at £7 per day. Friendly staff. Good quality, freshly cooked breakfast. Excellent beer garden.
Avoid room 6! Small, no ventilation to speak of, no fan to help matters and sited over a noisy kitchen fan that went on all night. Not a good night's sleep!! Note, rooms are about to be turned into a restaurant.
No parking available
The staff were wonderful and the lady serving breakfast was superb along with the Bar Staff who all couldn't do enough for us. The Manager gave us a lovely welcome and encouraged us to use the NCP car park which was a problem on a Sunday as it will only take a pound and you have then to go back at midnight to pay again so moved car across the road to the shopping centre car park. Perfect. Very comfy four poster bed and will definately stay again. Thank you.
Four poster beds are a bit different. Great breakfast Close to the town centre
Our room was right outside the pubs outdoor dining/drinking area so was quite noisy. The room was very warm and no fan so we had to leave the windows open exacerbating the noise. There was also noise from the bar below, especially as they were cleaning up at the end of the night and getting ready for breakfast. Parking was some distance and £7 pernight
