tea facility area quite restricted tv not working hot water not hot even early in morning noisy doors especially at night as we were close to a main landing door had to pay for breakfast
Close to motorawy
Poor quality steak ( tough and tastless) at evening meal; Ceiling about to collapse over bath
What a super hotel and we got an upgrade. Evening meal was excellent as was breakfast. Going again soon.
Spacious and well equipped bedroom and bathroom. Attractive combination of original building and modern extension. Ample parking.
Very good hotel, great staff, excellent range of food, bright and cheerful open spaces.
the comfort of the beds ,bedroom ,restaurent, and reception .all the staff were very helpfull and friendly. we liked extra tea and sugar and milk being on the table in the corrider .
we would have enjoyed some entertainment in the bar but we enjoyed playing cards
The overall ambience of the surroundings and spaciousness of the room.
The staff, the location and the rooms
Wifi a little dodgy but otherwise nothing
The hotel felt home from home and I will certainly come again and I have been made aware that you tell us of special offers
Big room, comfy bed.
Room clean and comfortable. Food very good and staff helpful and attentive.
Nothing at all wrong here.
The bedrooms are new build, modern, clean and comfortable and the hotel is extremely convenient for the M6 junction 36. Food in the restaurant excellent if a little pricey.
With the bedroom window open you can hear the hum of the motorway.
Although only minutes from the M6 this hotel feels as though it is in the middle of the countryside. It is an old inn with a modern accommodation block and we have twice stayed in the latter. Rooms are a good size and very comfortable with great mattresses and two armchairs. Choose the back (no great view but not overlooked) if you want quiet - the front rooms overlook the car park. Staff are friendly and efficient. We have always eaten in the cottage - the old inn which is a bit more atmospheric than the modern dining room and the food is quite superb. A stroll along the Lancaster canal opposite the hotel concludes a very pleasant evening. This hotel is now a regular stopover on our journeys north.
Our room was lovely, comfy and clean. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, breakfast was amazing. We would definitely stay again and recommend.
Lovely historic building in a great location - perfect for exploring the Lakes and Dales. Good restaurant with friendly staff using excellent local produce.
Courtesy & helpfulness of staff Lovely room Tasty fresh breakfast
Breakfast a bit late at 7:30 Poor wi-fi signal
Excellent staff - very friendly and helpful. Nice good quality food and drink Good mix of modern and old building
Just one slight improvement. Bad position of shower rail in bath - clings to you in shower and let's water out onto floor. Solution - use a curved rail and narrow glass screen. With this put right will score excellent in everything
Out in the country but close enough to Kendal. My test is always how well I sleep: slept like a log!
Breakfast not included in price
The staff were great. Attentive and well trained. Food was excellent and the room was very well finished, comfortable and clean.
Shower was weak even on full blast and my room was out of the wifi reach.
The friendliness of the staff and the comfort of the rooms
The restaurant which was used as a walkway between the bar and reception area by some guests!
Friendly welcome nice spacious room with good facilities
The overpowering smell of fish upon arrival hard pillows led to an uncomfortable nights sleep refreshments hidden out of veiw in draw
Quiet location but close to M6. High quality rooms and food, well above 3 star rating.
the hotel was a fine mixture of old with new. the bedroom block had had money spent on the fixtures and fittings. the space at reception and restaurant was well planned and comfortable, the bar retained its old fashioned charm.
luke warm bathwater and a loose earth wire attached to the radiator in the bedroom. no facilities after 11pm for residents at the bar. we were two of five people at the bar with very little atmosphere, cost of breakfast was exorbitent considering the room price. my wife did not want breakfast and i only wanted poached egg on toast but it would have cost ten pounds extra. not worth it im afraid.
The staff were quite offhand and I did not feel friendly. The breakfast cost was added to the bill which I thought had been included in the cost of £70 for the room. I was told that as I had booked through Bookings.com breakfast was extra. If I had booked direct it would have been included in the £70 cost. When I queried and said I thought that was strange, the reply was shrugged shoulders, not very friendly. It is a convenient stop on the motorway but I will not return. Expensive for what was supplied.
