staff were very friendly food and service excellent views from dining room superb the fact that animals are not allowed on premises
a miniscule dislike - no hair conditioner in bathroom pack
we stayed to celebrate our anniversary and couldn't have asked for any better!
The staff are friendly and attentive. Food was good . The room was lovely and clean also very relaxing.
The seating area while waiting for the meal. There are sofas made from horse shoes the most uncomfortable thing I have ever Sat on. We moved to a wooden table area because of this only to be asked to move. It was 8pm and no others sat at the table after us so was a little put out. We were asked to sit on 2 high back chairs in a door way facing out over. people constantly walking past us not romantic at all.
Very good accommodation, excellent restaurant and great service.Very welcoming, will be going back
Being very picky : heated towell rail would be a bonus?
Entire stay was lovely. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was excellent and food delicious. We will certainly be returning.
Didn't like having to leave. Will endeavour to stay full weekend next time.
Late booking, allocated room 1 which is ground floor bedroom. Underfloor heating made all the difference. Attractive room. Wet room instead of bath. Lovely pub and grounds.
Bed was double, prefer king size. Breakfast good quality, but too many beans and l didn't like the sausage.
Friendly staff and comfortable rooms close to Park & Ride giving access direct into Whitby.
Different type of hotel, nice and compact with bar/restaurant close to rooms
Absolutely Everything. THE Most Cosy, Comforting, Caring place to stay. So tasteful, interesting, so much attention to detail, and the Woodwork/Forging/Art Work creates a truly rustic atmosphere with log fires in abundance. The most attentive staff we have ever experienced anywhere in the world. The food was excellent. We now have no desire to go anywhere else, and will be back--many times.
There was however, just one aspect of our stay, that we were not happy about, and that was having to leave. The owning family and the staff, we met them all, and were sorry to have to leave.
Fantastic food and the staff was very helpful, polite, well mannered. I only stop one night but I will be stopping again.
Everything the from the food to the location
As soon as we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff, we were a little early but we were shown our room within 10 minutes. The room was good a little different with bags of character. The food was excellent and the bores whilst sat at breakfast were breath taking
The remote for the tv was broken which all In all is aunor issue.
We loved everything about our stay! The place was beautiful! Log fires excellent decor and a relaxed environment! The food was delicious! Will defiantly be staying again!!!!
There wasn't anything we disliked!
The room was superb as was the breakfast.
attentive and pleasant staff. Accompanied to room and shown everything. excellent room and very comfortable bed Excellent food. Best night we have spent anywhere for a long time.
Having to leave to journey home
Quirky, individual features, handmade quilts, woodcarvings galore, wonderful, comprehensive breakfast, lovely helpful and friendly staff. Individuality is it's biggest selling point. Everywhere I turned there was something lovely I wanted to photograph.
Missing control for velux blinds meant bedroom was quite light overnight, one of the hand towels was a bit stained. Other than that, I couldn't fault it.
Room bit small for money
Location Quality of food, dinner and breakfast Atmosphere Altogether the best hotel I have been in for quite a while
Everything except the loo seat in room 8.
The loo seat in room 8 would benefit from being replaced. It's underside is blistered and therefore presents a health hazard.
The staff were excellent. Very attentive. The food was locally sourced, well cooked and well presented. The menu was extensive. Main course prices from £13 to £28, something for everyone. The rooms were lovely, oak beamed and full of character. More than adequate parking. Well known to the locals who were envious that we were staying/dining there.
Location, food, ambiance, service. Style of the hotel, a high standard country hotel.
A bit to close to the road.
just love the place wish it was nearer home then i could go each weekend
Food Bed and bathroom facilities Informal dining area Under floor heating! Welcoming staff
Dark room with not enough natural light
Lovely room Pleasant and helpful staff lovely garden and a pets' corner, which was a surprise Enjoyable breakfast Interesting guests (ie the Goth wedding that was going on)
It was out of town and because of the very busy nature of the Goth weekend the whole town was badly served by public transport. We had to wait an hour for the ring and ride bus and would have had to do the same for a taxi. Same on the way back. Difficult to walk into town because of the busy road. Consequently, we will stay in town next time we come to Whitby.
Everything. Staff brilliant. Food excellent. Hotel wonderful. Had a fantastic birthday weekend for my husband. The grounds are appealing and have lovely views.
