The landlady welcomed us warmly and showed us to our three separate rooms. My room were spacious, very clean, tastefully decorated with a nice ensuite bathroom with shower cubicle. The tea and coffee tray was well stocked with good quality products as well as some biscuits, hot chocolate and Horlicks. In the bathroom there was luxury soap, liquid hand soap and liquid soap in the shower cubicle. It also had a squeegee and I found myself having great fun cleaning the glass shower door with it after my morning shower! On arrival we had been asked to fill out a form for either an English or continental breakfast. I chose English with regular coffee to be served at 8:15. We went out for a meal in the evening at the Bowl Inn which is within walking distance along quaint narrow streets. The breakfast room was lovely and the table laid with nice cutlery and dishware. The orange juice was of superior quality as were the bacon, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes all served by the landlord who was most amenable and helpful. The brown bread was homemade as was the delicious orange marmalade. So, for the price it was excellent value and the owners are doing a great job - well done!
The sat nav took us down a steep single lane (The Scoop) which looks like it could be tricky in the winter. But there is another way to get there via a much wider road. The coffee was my only real disappointment. It was served in a cafetiere but was really weak and see-through. It did nothing for me and I had to get one after we left to wake me up. We are booked in again mid December for another part of our course on counselling children and young people at the Network Training centre in Bradley Stoke and I shall definitely request a coffee with more 'volume'!
We were pleased with everything.
We can not identify anything we did not like.
We were made very welcome as we arrived. We had difficulty finding Lower Almondsbury as the approach to the village was poorly signed. The room was well set out and the bed extremelycomfortable. The breakfast was excellent and we were not rushed. If we are in the area again we will certainly come back.
I liked the personal and friendly service. Breakfast was very generous and made to order. My ensuite bathroom was modern and clean and the bed I had was comfortable.
I would only suggest an update of the bed linens as they seem worn a little, but other than that, fabulous value.
The very nice area, clean room, marviolous view...
Friendly and helpful hosts and we spent a restful 2 nights here. It's a peaceful location despite being a short distance to motorways and the northern edge of the city.
We had one meal at the local pub which was OK but somewhat disappointing, having seen previous good reviews of it - perhaps we were just unlucky that day.
Very friendly couple running the hotel. Excellent cooked breakfast. Good location for business travelers operating in Filton (Airbus, MoD, etc). Nice location in village with good access. Very nice, clean interior and good en-suite bathrooms.
Slight difficulty finding hotel, however it was dark when I was looking for it and the staff where very helpful in directing me.
Location. Décor and room facilities Really good breakfast freshly cooked to order Parking fine
The picturesque village. The property The room, The food The people that ran it. But not necessarily in that order!
having to leave.
Cleanliness Fabulous shower and bathroom Very comfortable bed and bedding Beautiful garden Helpful owner (male) In village location Great pubs nearby with good food
Not a terribly warm welcome from the lady of the house - just sent straight to our rooms (she had probably just had a bad day). Had to pay extra for a cooked breakfast (not a problem) Felt we had to be specific about time we were coming to breakfast.
The hosts enhanced the short stay by their hospitality and friendliness.
Some nice personal touches. Very friendly.
The hotel was quiet, spotless. Bed comfortable and warm. Breakfast good and plenty. Bathroom spotless. Easy to find. Good parking
Couldn't stay longer
Everything great room could not ask for more
Excellent top class accommodation
We were great with a friendly smile and a very nice room. Best nights sleep for a long time, great area and a lovely recommended pub restaurant. Would recommend this place and would be very happy to vist the area again. The hosts were very friendly and as we have several food intollerances they produced a great breakfast and look after us.
nothing to dislike
Lovely house with friendly owners. The room was well equipped with everything you might need and was very clean and well presented. Breakfast was very nice.
Comfortable, good shower, perfect location for Bowl Inn pub for food. Nice breakfast. Very clean.
Curtains did not keep out the light so had little sleep. Due to being the summer time and getting light around 5am. Hotels and guest houses need to consider this when furnishing rooms.
Hosts were very welcoming. The house was tastefully decorated and the facilities were clean and well laid out. Very well priced.
Had to leave prior to breakfast. I would have liked to have been offered a bit of flexibility in timings as I had paid for B&B. Room was extremely hot, had to have windows open during the night as no aircon, which lead to terrible noise from the motorway.
Would recommend Crossover House. It is in a quiet location with lovely surroundings. Lovely to hear the birds singing.
Crossover House was lovely, a beautiful house, really comfy, clean rooms, wonderful en-suites and a great breakfast! The owners could not have made my mother and myself more welcome. Fantastic!
An impressive bb.
