We stayed here for three nights in august. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at the lovely accommodation. Crossways is just a 5 minute walk into the centre of York, it is in a lovely setting. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were also top notch! Will definately return next year and we have been recommending to friends! Thanks to all the staff at crossways :)

The only thing I could say is that the pillows in the bedroom could be slightly more fluffy. Everything else was fantastic!

Friendly staff, particularly the very knowledgeable proprietress (who tirelessly answered all of my parents' questions!). :) Comfortable rooms and furnishings. Individual choices of nice fresh food for breakfast. Straightforward walk right into city centre. Quiet neighbourhood, so a peaceful night's sleep. The guest house arranged a parking pass for us, which was helpful and convenient.

Nothing major - it would have been nice to have more choice about mealtime but this was okay for us. Some visitors to York may prefer to stay even closer to to town. Guests who are elderly or have mobility issues should ask about size and location of rooms - again, not an issue for us, but as the B&B is in a 19th century house, the size of the rooms/hallway/staircase may be a consideration for some travellers. I'm sure the host would be happy to answer your questions.

Location, easy walk into city Very helpful staff Outside seating area to relax in

Breakfast only starts at 0830 so everyone appears which makes the breakfast room crowded. Car was parked out of sight of building on street in a designated area. Postcode in satnav goes to a nearby street!

Comfy bed. Cozy room. Coffee biscuits. Hearty breakfast. Hot shower ensuite. A lovely welcome. Emma keeping track of our journey and wanting to welcome us personally. Girl on staff. Olla looked after us at breakfast. I ate the lot. A lovely clean tidy room that had bed made up and cleaned up for us when we returned from shopping. We have stayed with several ppl in York including Emma. Emma and Crossways are top of our bill for a future stay, and recommendation. Also we were recommended a restaurant by Emma which we absolutely loved. Well done Emma. We loved our stay. Thank You for having us. Pete n Gillian from Fife.

There was only one thing we did not like. That was, we had to come back home. :-(

We had a very nice room at the front of the first floor of the guest house. Staff were very friendly, and breakfast very good. Crossways is well located a 20 minute walk from the main city centre.

Only 10 minute walk to city centre was excellent. Providing a parking ticket outside the b&b was very useful. The price for a b7b close to centre was excellent. Breakfast was very good.

Breakfast start time of 0830 is rather late

Great location and excellent value for money.

I would have liked to have been able to choose my breakfast in the morning rather than when we arrived for the whole stay.

The owner was completely unaccommodating. She wanted a very precise arrival time which was unpredictable due to working away the day before. A time of between 7-7.30 pm was not accurate enough for her as the house isn't manned 'all day'. The shower didn't work in my room in the morning and the owner would not let me wash my hands downstairs after breakfast (despite knowing what a rush we were in as she only served breakfast 8.30-9) but asked me to walk back up two huge flights of stairs to my room as guests aren't allowed in the kitchen..even though she'd allowed my colleague to iron his shirt in there the night before for 20 minutes. Nice guest house but made to feel very uncomfortable by the owner - do not stay here if on business.
