A cozy English manor-like accommodation with warm welcome and good service. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was generous with good variety.
The location was a bit hard to find at night.
The food was superb. Had a meal on the Saturday evening which was excellent and the breakfast on both mornings were wonderful. Room was clean and spacious and warm. Staff were helpful and attentive. Really enjoyed our stay.
Really enjoyed the location and the welcoming friendly yet unobtrusive staff
Friendly staff and location of hotel was good.
Very cold in breakfast room and not much choice on the buffet table.
Our Avalon suite was amazing can't wait to visit again when the new outdoor jacuzzi is built!
There wasn't anything we didn't like everything was perfect!
The hotel photos on the website were not representative of the accommodation. The bathroom had a strong smell of urine. Definitely not four star accommodation.
Good staff, clean hotel, great area.
More vege food please?
Was a nice atmosphere and found the staff very friendly. Was clean and quiet
Did seem abit understaffed, especially when the bar area got busy. Could maybe do with abit more choice in the menu.
We were travelling back from the south-west via Street and Crossways made an ideal stopover. Service was very friendly - the room was clean & comfortable with a lovely shower in the en suite - the food was very good and breakfast extensive. Would recommend.
We were very impressed with the hotel, we had a very enjoyable meal in the restaurant and found the hotel staff very helpful and friendly.
There was nothing about our stay that we didn't like.
First impression was great! There was a mix up with our booking and the staff handled it fantastically! Loved the friendly and professional atmosphere. Rooms comfortable. Food great. The country experience - priceless!
Old lipstick on a cup in the room (first day). Only one towel in the room (first day). However, as soon as we brought it to the staff's attention, it was sorted out efficiently.
The staff were very hospitable, polite and attentive: nothing was too difficult. Gluten free food was available. The room had been recently upgraded, was very clean and well finished.
There was nothing we didn't like. Suggest that TV in 112 is remounted to allow viewing from settee. Satnavs give the worst routes from Wells. Suggest you include a recommended route from the main road (A37?)
Very friendly fab break
Good base for touring that area. Nice selection of evening meals - brilliant triple cooked chips! Superb freshly cooked breakfast.
We liked everything location, Hospitality, breakfast was tasty.
When we had breakfast the waitress forgot the toast lol
The food and friendliness of staff
Lack of atmosphere
The quietness of the location, the comfort and cleanliness of the room, the friendly staff, the food. There was a totally relaxed atmosphere throughout.
Nothing much to dislike, really. The WiFi could have been better, and the mobile telephone signal was appalling. Other than that, nothing to complain about.
Bathroom was beautiful Nice room Beautiful surroundings Quiet Very nice restaurant Good breakfast
The beds were a bit hard and lumpy It was hard to find
Beautiful setting shame about the dead flowers in the main entrance flower pots with discarded cans. Not a good first impression. Tidy lounge and dining areas. Bedroom poor, springs in mattress sticking out, spillage on coffee table not cleaned, sticky bedside cabinet. Marked carpets. Extremely noisy door slamming late at night.
Bed with uncomfortable mattress.
Very good bathrooms, comfortable beds.
Partition walls not very well insulated for sound.
Help from lady on duty when we arrived late was exceptional. She organised a hot snack for us as we had been unable to find a place to eat en-route to the hotel. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet with excellent facilities. Useful place to stay if heading for Bristol airport.
Service at breakfast was very slow and somewhat haphazard.
Everything was really good at Crossways. We had the budget 4 poster bedroom,it was very airy, clean and comfortable, bathroom very big. Breakfast each morning was lovely. The hotel is in the countryside, but not that far from plenty of places to visit. Would definitely stay again but in a different room.
The only thing I would say is that the furniture in our room needed updating as we couldn't use the chest of drawers, windows wouldn't open and the water would just stop at times when showering and shelf in bathroom not fixed properly, but these are very small issues that could be fixed easily.
refurbished bedrooms patio with view
rude uncaring general manager, un serviced rooms, undercooked sausages at breakfast, language barrier between guests and staff due to lots for foreign workers, manager who barks orders at his staff, unable to eat in Inn due to wedding and noise, unable to sleep due to wedding disco, manager unable to resolve complaints, hotel not fulfilling request for quiet rooms. etc etc
The staff were really friendly and efficient. The breakfast was really nice - especially the eggs. The dinner we had in the hotel was also nicer than the one we had in Wells centre (Anton's Bistro). It was also better value.
The outside of the building was a bit tatty. The flower tubs were all dead and the guttering was falling down.
Size of room, comfy bed and bedding, very nice shower room with toiletries and towels, ambience in hotel, convenience of having hotel restaurant in view of location after all-day travel, quality of food.
Music in restaurant a bit too loud in evening(staff turned it down), at breakfast service bit poor, felt rushed for decision re cooked breakfast(man waiter no prize from charm school),had to ask for toast, and not offered hot water.
