Really friendly staff. Generous breakfast and spotlessly clean room. Village is lovely and opportunities for long country walks with great views of Wells Cathedral and Glastonbury Tor. Perfect location for Glastonbury Festival for those who like a bit of luxury and don't want to camp as it's only 15 mins walk to the festival site along quiet country lanes.
I accidently booked for the day before our intended stay. The staff told me it was not a problem and within 5 minutes a room was set up for us and our 2 grandchildren. The room was plenty big enough for the 4 of us and the tea and coffee facilities were superb.
We had the suit with a fourposter bed and hot tub on special offer. Excellent!
WiFi doesn't work also very poor mobile reception
The staff couldn't do enough for us and made our stay very enjoyable. Fantastic hotel.
friendly staff. great breakfast.
lovely staff, lovely food for dinner and breakfast even thou felt sleep deprived..
wedding reception our night booked. Guests were loud arguing & banding doors to rooms from 1-3:30am on our corridor on first floor.. Despite room being nice although no drapes on four poster bed, night away with hubby was ruined owing lack sleep & distraction on corridor outside our room.
The rooms are beautiful, all the public areas are of a high standard.
Was told by the manager continental breakfast avail from 7am, cooked 7.30. The breakfast room was stilll in darkness when I went down 7.05, the chef turned up 7.15 didn't offer any explanation as to the lack of any breakfast and disappeared. I had to leave at 7.40 to travel further to a meeting with no breakfast. I had to then insist the person who turned up at reception not to charge me for the breakfast on check out. It a pity as the hotel is very nice. I think the bar could do with more staff, waited ages to order drink and food.
I had an upgrade to a lovely room. It was very comfortable and well designed with a large bath and TV in the bathroom. It was a shame I only got to stay there for one night. I didn't eat in the restaurant but breakfast was good with plenty of choice.
The staff were excellent, the room spacious, well appointed (great shower room) and the whole place modern and spacious. Excellent food, both at dinner and breakfast. Everything prepared just as it should be, with care and attention. We were very happy here.
It has to be said, it's not the prettiest building from the outside, but don't let that put you off. Inside is fresh and modern and it's possible to find an intimate corner. Other than that, I couldn't fault the place - and bizarrely, the night we were there it was practically empty. I couldn't quite get my head around that, even given the time of year.
bed room the bar and breakfast room
Bedroom and bathroom excellent. Dining room good.
Menu quite limited.
very attentive and polite staff lovely cooked breakfast good amount of space in the rooms and communal areas of bar/restaurant
unfortunately could feel the springs sticking through the mattress on the bed lack of vegetarian food options on the menu
The bedroom was spacious and had a beautiful 4-poster bed! Jacuzzi bath was brilliant. Excellent food in the Restaurant, and a lovely free breakfast in the morning! Worth a visit....
We Loved the restaurant food and wine list. The staff we're amazing, friendly and so personable. Excellent hotel and so near Glastonbury, perfect.
The bed mattress wasn't that comfortable :( wonderful room and fabulous shower, then let down by that. Could do with a mattress topper maybe?
Nice bar area with good range of drinks and friendly staff and atmosphere
Off beaten track so definitely need SatNav to find
Very clean and modern. Proximity to both Wells and Glastonbury and quiet location. Good cooked English breakfast!
My friend complained about the "lumpy" mattress which meant he had a poor night's sleep...
