Hotel was fine but unfortunately we were given the wrong key to get into the hotel after hours! As there was no one on duty we had to rouse another guest who very kindly threw down his key for us - so all ended well.

Very friendly and helpful to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There was four in our party and even though we all ordered different meals all were served together and tasted fresh and hot and also tasted delicious. We would certainly recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Nothing I certainly wouldn't stay again. I felt the design of the hotel was poor, the views from the windows were difficult to appreciate. The outside grounds were littered with builders debris and dying plants. The hotel lacked charm and warmth. It is positioned in beautiful countryside and needs to capitalize upon this instead of being a blot on the landscape.

Staff were friendly, rooms were spotless and the bed was very comfy. We were attending a wedding reception and the hotel is perfect for a small do. Wifi only available in bar area and no mobile phone signal and no phones in the room. Felt rather cut off but that might be exactly what some people are looking for!

Our rooms exceeded expectations based on the reception we got when we arrived. Very nice Unfortunately the restaurant was rubbish. The food was the sort of thing you might have expected in the 60s. On asking for dressing for the salad, I was asked if I'd like salad cream. She then reappeared with a bottle of balsamic vinegar. I asked for the chef to make up a vinaigrette and was told he was too busy!! Only three other tables had guests! Gather he's leaving so in answer to the next question, I would say yes

The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. I've never received such good service before. It is clean, modern, comfortable and has great facilities. Everything we were after. This is not the first time we've stayed here either.

Very clean, welcoming hotel and genuinely friendly staff that the big chain hotels do not achieve. Good meals and lovely location. Ideal for visiting Wells and Cheddar as well as other must see locations in the area such as (in our case) SS Great Britain at Bristol and the American Museum at Bath).

Deserved its 4 stars. The live band who played until the early hours of the morning. They we directly beneath our bedroom so minimum sleep and we had a long journey the following day - I would recommend but check if there are any functions going on during your stay

cleanliness of room and quite relaxed. Good TV and bathroom lovely ordered a double and got a twin. wifi did not reach room and was minimal in bar plus had to ask for password. Evening meal was ok but very basic - (basic menu that night as it was quiet even though a saturday.) and breakfast buffet was poorly stocked. Had cooked breakfast which was ok but no toast and minimal interaction with staff, polite but not over friendly with exception of lady who checked us out. That said i would still stay again

The best things were the location, very peaceful, and fantastic views. And also the Avalon Vale we stayed in room was amazing. Very good full English breakfast. Great bar with some good real ales.

Inexpensive hotel, comfortable and modern. Very freindly staff, good bar and reasonable Italian style restaurant. It is out of the way down narrow lanes. Breakfast was poor - little choice of cereals and cooked breakfast buffet very limited.

Beautiful surroundings and was a good stop off point for visiting nearby attractions. Unfortunately not worth £70 a night. The carpet in the room was worn and only 1 plug socket was available to use which made it difficult for charging cameras, phones etc. Breakfast was limited, they had run out of things and didn't cater particularly well for vegetarians. Although it was a 'budget double' I would have expected a better service for that sort of money.

Location, incorperating surrounding veiws of countryside. Layout and space of and in the hotel. The hotel lacked a breakfast menu (choice of food). It lacked some of the finess that one would expect from a four star hotel, ie no telephones in rooms, no offer of personel daily news papers and no tissues supplied in rooms. Daily specials on restaurant notice board stayed the same for all seven days, and the menu was restricted to mainly Itailian food only (not enough variety).

Not enough staff on duty. Limited cereal and fruit choice. A little background music might have helped the general ambience of the breakfast room.

We thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful surrounding area and found Crossways Inn to have everything that we needed. The staff were very friendly, the food cooked by the chef was delicious. The bar area, restaurant and patio were all very nicely decorated with nice aresas to sit and relax. The breakfast was lovely and this being included in the price was very much appreciated. We would definitely come again and would recommend it to friens. There is nothing we can say which we didn't like.
