Hotel was fine but unfortunately we were given the wrong key to get into the hotel after hours! As there was no one on duty we had to rouse another guest who very kindly threw down his key for us - so all ended well.

Nothing I certainly wouldn't stay again.

I felt the design of the hotel was poor, the views from the windows were difficult to appreciate. The outside grounds were littered with builders debris and dying plants. The hotel lacked charm and warmth. It is positioned in beautiful countryside and needs to capitalize upon this instead of being a blot on the landscape.

Our rooms exceeded expectations based on the reception we got when we arrived. Very nice

Unfortunately the restaurant was rubbish. The food was the sort of thing you might have expected in the 60s. On asking for dressing for the salad, I was asked if I'd like salad cream. She then reappeared with a bottle of balsamic vinegar. I asked for the chef to make up a vinaigrette and was told he was too busy!! Only three other tables had guests! Gather he's leaving so in answer to the next question, I would say yes

Pleasant

Very clean, welcoming hotel and genuinely friendly staff that the big chain hotels do not achieve. Good meals and lovely location. Ideal for visiting Wells and Cheddar as well as other must see locations in the area such as (in our case) SS Great Britain at Bristol and the American Museum at Bath).

Inexpensive hotel, comfortable and modern. Very freindly staff, good bar and reasonable Italian style restaurant.

It is out of the way down narrow lanes. Breakfast was poor - little choice of cereals and cooked breakfast buffet very limited.

Absolutely everything! The luxury room, the fantastic view, the wonderful staff.. I've got nothing to complain about, it was love at first sight. :)

The hotel lacked a breakfast menu (choice of food). It lacked some of the finess that one would expect from a four star hotel, ie no telephones in rooms, no offer of personel daily news papers and no tissues supplied in rooms. Daily specials on restaurant notice board stayed the same for all seven days, and the menu was restricted to mainly Itailian food only (not enough variety).

We thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful surrounding area and found Crossways Inn to have everything that we needed. The staff were very friendly, the food cooked by the chef was delicious. The bar area, restaurant and patio were all very nicely decorated with nice aresas to sit and relax. The breakfast was lovely and this being included in the price was very much appreciated. We would definitely come again and would recommend it to friens.
