Situated in England's smallest cathedral city, The Swan provides excellent accommodations and hotel facilities. The Swan makes an ideal base for exploring Somerset.

Most of the staff were friendly and we could park easily every time we came back to the hotel. Although the outside of the hotel wasn't much to look at, it was actually ok on the inside in the bar and restaurant area. We also had a field of sheep outside our bedroom window which was nice. It was fairly central to all of the places we visited, but avoid if you aren't comfortable driving in single track country roads.
The drains smelt really bad in the en-suite when we arrived, which stunk out the whole room, it was ok once we'd run the taps but still not a great welcome. I went to put some clothes away on a shelf and the bottom pair of jeans was absolutely covered in dust! Our bed was slightly downhill, and every time somebody opened a door our door rattled which meant we didn't sleep very well. Breakfast was ok, but at least one thing was wrong everyday of the four days we stayed. It's a shame really. If they made a few changes (like sort out rattling and slamming doors) and more attention to detail when cleaning it could've been a lot better.
the food was very good staff v friendly good shower
noisy at breakfast radio blaring small rooms bit shabby in places no phone reception accept nothing hotel can do about this wifi slow again hotel probably can't do much about this
Room was nice and comfortable evening meal was excellent ! Bar was shown as modern and contemporary but was empty and without any atmosphere
Breakfast was good but the breakfast room was soulless and without any atmosphere. Bar staff in the evening was no good served me a bottle of white wine in a chiller but the wine was warm and i sent it back. The replacement was dumped on my table unopened for me to serve myself. A bit of staff training i think !!!!
Very friendly and helpful staff, good quality food.
Very helpful & friendly staff Good views over to Glastonbury Tor Good location
Service at meal times was slow (~2 hours for 2 course dinner) - seemed to be under-staffed
Really friendly staff especially the receptionist, couldn't do enough for us. Great food we were really impressed . Great value for money.
Some of the décor is looking a bit tired but this didn't bother us.
Loved to food and decor. The staff were exceptionally friendly. Large selection for breakfast. Very clean too!
Water pressure issues along with a bit scruffy towels. Maybe could update towels.
Really nice helpful staff.
Ran out of hash browns and only half a piece of black pudding at breakfast!
I loved the room we got, 4 poster with a giant bathroom
The mattress felt like it needed replacing although my hubby thought it was fine so I may be just a bit fussy.
Avalon Suite very impressive Bed large and very comfortable Bathroom superb great bath and shower and watching TV whilst in bath a bonus Bar area nice and terrace lovely to sit on with great views Breakfast was good and my husband said eggs benedict excellent. Waitress very helpful
Entrance from car park not very welcoming.
no low sugar cereal at breakfast. I would have expected this. We were pushed out for the last night because after our booking you signed up a wedding. Staff good management shocking!
Slept really well. Its a great place to base yourself while touring round the area. Owners friendly and helpful
Food in restaurant. Very sweet carrote one night, very sweet sauce on linguine the next.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant and the food was good
I thought the hotel was somewhat understaffed
Attractive rooms, helpful, friendly staff. good breakfast. Quiet location. lots of parking.
stayed 5 days and room not cleaned very well during that time.Bed not made one day and I don't think the vacuum cleaner visited at all!
Amazing views of Glastonbury Tor. Hotel is good, staff friendly and the food is excellent.
We stayed in a suite which was amazing but the floor hadn't been cleaned properly. The staff dealt with this very well and offered us complementary drinks. The hotel overall could have been cleaner.
Great location in the heart of Somerset. Staff were very friendly and helpful and did everything they could to make sure we had a comfortable stay and had all our needs met. Rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We particularly enjoyed our cooked Breakfasts which were very good indeed
Coffee wasn't great - but we are quite particular.
All staff made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was excellent.
The one fault that I had was that the bathroom was not as clean as it should have been.
Nice views, reasonably quiet at night. Staff generally very helpful
It is too functional, good for big corporate events and weddings but not geared to the individual traveller or holiday makers. Breakfast needs to be vastly improved....very disappointing, and not very well displayed or appetising looking. Take some learnings from Continental Europe!
The deluxe four poster bedroom was tastefully furnished, spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom was amazing!!
There was nothing to dislike. The hotel and staff were excellent.
Outdoor terrace Excellent food
Poor staff training Dirty tables at breakfast Room needed upgrading
The room and view, the food.
No sheets on the bed
The blonde receptionist was very helpful and friendly. She did tell us that the hotel was undergoing some major refurbishment but I didn't see any of it!
There were cobwebs and spiders in the room. Our bathroom had damp with the plaster peeled off down the side of the bath. The breakfast room was still dirty from the night before had not been hovered up. There are lots of cobwebs everywhere. It hadn't seen a duster in weeks. At the table in the restaurant there were cleaning cloths left on the window sill. Background music was turned off during dinner and had to ask twice for it to be put back on. The hotel is tired and drab and needs updating urgently
The staff really make the place, they are lovely and friendly whilst always being polite and professional! The rooms are great and a bargain, very clean and the new bathrooms add a bit if luxury.
Considering we stayed there a few days after the end of the Glastonbury festival everything was at peace.Really good position for exploring Somerset and surroundings.Relaxing and spacious hotel in quiet village with well appointed rooms.Only shame for us was that there was a large private party on our only evening so the bar and normal dining areas weren't available.Standard of food good, breakfast excellent and really sweet helpful young lady looked after us for both meals.Certainly go back if we return to area.
Nothing of significance.
Good view of the Tor and surrounding countryside.quality content of lunch sandwiches and cooked breakfast.
The staff couldn't handle the numbers of people booked in for breakfast and were disorganised in their booking of rooms.
