The Cavendish Hotel faces the coast on Eastbourne's Grand Parade. It has a spa and gym, and many suites with wonderful views of the English Channel.

On Eastbourne’s seafront, The Big Sleep Hotel has contemporary accommodations just a quarter mile from the center of Eastbourne. Some rooms feature sea views.
Score from 696 reviews Very good
Easy to get to, comfortable, secluded, quiet, not over looked, warm (Once we put heating on - If we'd asked and given a time I am sure they would have put it on for us) Short walk to main building and local pub
Shower needs updating. Bigger bed please
The dinner was exceptional for the ridiculously small price paid - truly a restaurant with rooms. Good quality soaps and shampoo in the bathroom, PROPER MILK in the fridge, hot radiators on a frosty night ... lovely! A full breakfast was included and again was freshly cooked. Friendly owners who have been there for 1/4 of a century but still have the desire to treat visitors well. A gem!
Unfortunately no drawing room for relaxing, which doesn't matter too much if you are only staying one night but not ideal for a longer stay.
the attention to detail
Warm welcome, good food, great service. Good freshly cooked breakfast
Shower was somewhat weak
We loved everything about our stay here . it is a little haven , & breakfast is a wow , they have just got it spot on ..
You cant improve on perfection .
food comfort surroundings service cleanliness friendliness
nothing it was perfect
We enjoyed our short stay .Staff were fantastic and were incredibly helpful, beds were very comfy and a great breakfast the next morning .We would stay again.
Good hospitality & service.
Uncomfortable, worn-out bed!
The owner was very welcoming and accommodating. The room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent!
Our room was at the front. It was a little bit noisy being close to quite a busy road
It's not really a hotel as there is nowhere downstairs to sit apart from the hall so it was a bit pricey and the brakfast was average
Excellent comfortable and clean room and bathroom. Milk in the fridge for morning tea senior staff member/manager/proprietor was very good (David)
crossing the A27 for breakfast. the lack of provision for any sort of evening meal without advance booking. Inexperienced weekend/young staff . Use of an open jug to provide extra hot water to go in the tea pot.
Noise! The noise from the A27 was horrendous all night long. Earplugs were provided in our room but it was a warm night and we wanted the window open so they had no effect. Also, no Lounge at Crossways - it is a B and B in our opinion, not a Hotel.
Quality of service and food was first class
Drive out to very busy main road.
Dinner was excellent, with an imaginative menu, using local ingredients, and warm and friendly service. There is a lot of attention to detail, to make sure customers are well looked after. I liked the little touches, such as a sewing kit in a tin, and real milk in a little bottle in the fridge in the room.
There was quite a lot of noise from the traffic, as the hotel is on a main road.
Friendly welcome Clean room Good breakfast
Stayed over the read in small cottage. Very busy highway and difficult to cross at times
Friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Rooms clean, well maintained and thoughtfully equipped. Pleasant gardens with outdoor seating. Wasn't able to sample the dining but suspect this would be excellent too.
Very friendly welcome from the hosts and helpmoffered with cases. Evening gourmet meal was excellent.
Breakfast Staff Location
Decor Uncomfortable bed
Very well appointed hotel, good breakfast, helpful staff
Grossly over-priced compared with more prestigious hotels near-bye.
Excellent location for visiting 'Bloomsbury in Sussex'. We were very well looked after in this gem of a hotel. The dinner alone was worth the trip,
Seclusion of the cottage + lovely gardens + friendly staff
So near such a busy road, which wasn't easy to cross at times because of the traffic. Not sure what can be done about that! Even though it was self-catering, a couple of teabags would have been a friendly gesture for a 1 night stay.
The welcome from the staff was really friendly. The dinner and breakfast were delicious.
Our room was a little on the small side as was the shower room.
Very friendly staff, good size room.Ceiling fan very effective in keeping us cool during the night Nice seating area in garden .Excellent evening menu. Breakfast freshly cooked !! as much tea, coffee and toast as we wanted.
No lounge area. Bed very very firm!!
Staying in Wishing Well Cottage across the road from the main house. It was private (the other couple staying there as well didn't effect us), nice to have use of the rest of the cosy cottage- kitchen, lounge, utility room, garden etc. our bedroom-ensuite with rolltop bath and shower was really special. Dinner in the main house dining room was very enjoyable just right for our special occasion. This place is a great find and definitely can be confidently recommended.
