For a pub the room was relatively quiet. The morning staff were pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was adequate. The room was rather cramped. The en-suite was useless as there was no shower curtain which meant the very small cubicle, which included toilet and sink got soaked if you switched the shower on. Also was very disappointed that the Crown couldn't supply me with a hairdryer, despite their leaflet saying you could ask at reception for one!

The staff were very friendly Room cramp, plastic carrier bag covering fire alarm in bedroom, uncomfortable beds and pillows. Cramp en suite and toilet did not flush properly. General cleanliness of hotel/inn was very poor.

Nothing, the hotel is damp, was freezing cold and uninviting. No one on site. Once the pub was closed we had to let ourselves in and the place was deserted. The lounge of the pub was left unkempt with half eaten food trays all over the place and dirty glasses etc.

Classic old-fashioned Inn - "Unspoiled by Progress".Amazing original Edwardian bathtub in corridor bathroom - a real treat. One of the best Full English Breakfasts I've ever had.Great central location in the heart of Lewes. I'll definitely return. The room could have been a little cleaner - and the nylon sheets weren't much of a treat (though they were clean.) Needs some work on dripping taps etc.

Very central. Friendly staff. Old building, would be nice if decorated. Very dated and dark. Not really an en suite, almost like a shed in the room. Which leaked when we had a shower! Cobwebs in rooms. Food not great. Expensive for what it was.

The lady who made breakfast was very welcoming and she made a good breakfast. It was close to the venue I needed to be but it was very very basic. It wasnt tht clean looked very dated. And realy looked like it needed refurbishment. It was cold and there was no one I could ask for help so I took the blanket from the other bed. It was cheap and I payed for wht I got. Someone else picked it for me and I certainly wouldn't stay there again if I had a choice.

the location was good. it was overpriced for what we got. the hot water didn't work in the oddest 'en-suite' I've ever seen (even after running it for ages) the TV was tiny, the breakfast was awful - the very cheap orange/apple juices (something like 29p - the price was on them) didn't encourage me to think any money had been spent on the disgusting sausage or bacon or eggs. the 'romance' of the four poster bed was ruined somewhat by the two single beds that are also in the room - why they are there who knows, to make more cash I presume! It was comedy really! I usually like quirky hotels, but this is not it. But we only slept there as we were in another pub the whole night. Wouldn't choose to stay there again, they need more competition!

Nothing. Everything, rooms nothing like those advertised, dirty, run down verging on dilapidated. Worst place I have ever booked and did not even stay there as it was so bad. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

It was in Lewes. It's a shame because the Inn had a lot of atmosphere, and could be a great place if renovated, redecorated, heated, replumbed, and had a change of mangement and staff. 1. Stayed on probably coldest nights this year (Oct 26 & 27) and heating (electric plug-in heaters) was not turned on in the room until we arrived. 2. Gas boiler failed on Saturday afternoon and there was no hot water until after we left on Sunday morning. 3. Breakfast room had missing cutlery, crockery at tables, and tables did not seem very clean. 4. Poor decoration throughout. 5. No coffee in the bar in the evenings. 6. The inn apears to be poorly managed and very disorganised.

It is centrally located. My suitcase was carried up stairs. It has some toilettries and tea making facilities The hotel is being run down to the ground with no money spent on it. The mattress was saggy and cheap, the bedroom freezing. The toilet was black inside and there was no heating at all in the shower room so it was far too cold to shower. I also wore my coat at breakfast as they had only just switched on a little heater. Until money is spent on the place DONT STAY THERE.
